Food was good but average. I’d go back anytime though for inexpensive and home cooked meals. I’d recommend it. The portions were also pretty good

Actually the place is now called«One Family» but who cares? The same people own and run it who have owned and ran it for years. I went in and ordered breakfast for lunch, which for me meant blueberry pancakes(DELISH!), bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, the works. What can I say? I used to eat here years ago. I’m willing to forgive the fact that the place has little statues of Barack and Michelle Obama, and even an «Obama Special» on its menu. Ordinarily that would cause me to projectile vomit, but in this case it was forgivable. Because the food I ate was fantastic, perfectly cooked and it came out in only 6 minutes, an impressive ticket time for such a busy little spot. Highly recommended.(I wonder if they’ll have a Hillary Special if she wins the election???)

Best veggie omelette in the city, served up by a very friendly crew. BTW, it is now the«One Family Diner».

The food is good, but if you get takeout they charge you for the containers. Styrofoam containers, that should be already built into the price. Then they charge you 75 cents for cheese! Kinda aggravated, I don’t think I’ll be returning for a long time. Places stay getting money hungry and forget why people patronize their establishment. Update: if I could give them no stars I would. They messed up my order and when I called back she tried to put the blame on me. I know what I ordered and what she repeated back to me. It s very unprofessional. I now have to go back to get my order corrected.

I am a breakfast addict, and I love going to quite a few places that serve breakfast. Ashley’s has been one of my favorite spots to eat with friends, although it may get a little packed sometimes they cook great and the pricing is very exceptional.

If I could less stars I would have!!! Food was awful on top of being freezing cold, our server never came back to check on us, but in the mean time the female waitstaff was noted time and time again at the tables only occupied by men!!! when I explained all of this to the woman behind the counter she shrugs and says«I don’t know what to tell you»!!! Horrible service !!! Women don’t waste your money, I suppose you have to be a man to get service or attention there! Never again! Back in the day it was the spot but fell far from grace!!! Disgusted!!!

Want delicious breakfast Sunday morning after a night of partying and a hang over ?! Call them !! Breakfast is solo good. I always get scrambled eggs, toast, sausage and corned beef. If I’m not mistaken they do deliver SOMETIMES. But this place is great!

At first i was really anxious to come by this place to relive some of my childhood memories. As my dad would call for an order of, hard scrambled eggs, with chopped sausage and, some white toast when i used to stay at his convinience store in school vacation well over 10 years ago. Um yeah… Very disapointed with this place, went to buy the same order. Some hard scrambled eggs with sausage and white toast, back in the day i used to fill the toast with egg and sausage into a sandwich and eat the rest, I explained how i wanted it and some how they made it into a sandwich itself when i was just asking to throw a slice of cheese on there for me to fix it as i please. When i got my breaksfast, it was basically one egg not even scrambled, 4 pieces of tiny sausages equivalent to 2 tiny sausages, White toast and a slice of cheese thrown on the side so thin i think there using kraft white singles.(smh) When i went to pay i was told it was $ 7.20! For real? One egg, two sausages with some white toast and a slice of cheese? Wow! The joint i regularly go to sells a large ham cheese and egg sandwich on a 12 inch roll. Which consist of 3 eggs, 3 slices of ham, 3 slices of cheese, with your choice of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and which ever sauces for $ 4.74, 5 bucks with tax! Im so disapointed im emberrassed to tell my dad. Might as well just go to Gallie where for 8 bucks i’ll grab a order of corned beef hash with home fries and wouldn’t be able to eat half of it. Maybe the pricing was made by the guy that rushed out through the door with my order since he brought it out with a paper the lady was reading which could have been personally priced by him, oh well I doubt i’ll be coming back anytime soon. 2 stars because the lady that took my order was really nice, P. S «pic of my order ^^

Good neighborhood spot for breakfast. I usually get the blueberry pancakes. I love that they offer turkey sausage and bacon for meat choices as well as beef sausage. Service is ok.

Amazing! My family and I enjoyed the best breakfast this morning. The price was right and the taste was on point. I could not get over how many options I was able to choose from on their menu. The service was over the top!!! The staff was helpful and took good care of us(all 8 of us). You should see Tricia when you stop in for an outstanding breakfast experience.

I’ll be the first to tell you if your looking for ambiance then this not your place, but the food is nothing less then great. The service is a hit or miss, so I recommend to just walk in like you own the place and find a seat, menus are on the table and before you know it, the waitress will take your order and serve you Coffee or orange juice. Breakfast is breakfast, keeping it traditional and delicious is what they do best. This place doesn’t try to be anything is not, you order your breakfast how you want it and that’s what you’ll get. 100% of the time.

This is a great breakfast spot. The food taste just the same way my grandmother made it. I had the #7, which comes with coffee, grits, corn beef hash, toast and one egg any way. The meal itself was really good and the portions were really big. I will say the service was very slow, but it was busy. In terms of pricing, it is in line with other diners. However, this is a cash only establishment. So keep that in mind.

I’ve always been a fan of Ashley’s because I think the food is good. The customer service though can be a hit or miss. My last experience there it was a miss. It was about 6:15am on a Sunday morning and I must say the man that helped us(I think he’s the owner) was very grumpy. Granted I know it’s early in the morning but if you’re not a morning person don’t work the morning shift. There is never an excuse for bad customer service you wouldn’t be where you are today if it wasn’t for your customers. I would have given the place 4 stars if it wasn’t for his grumpiness. The woman who was with him behind the counter who also helped us was very pleasant. She’s the only reason I added a 3rd star.

I know there are tons of places popping up slowly left and right in Dorchester that have nicer, modern décor and are«fancy» and«hipster» and blah blah blah blah. Listen, homie, If you want some– wait for it– AWESOME breakfast food and down to earth service go to Ashley’s! Ashley’s is a hidden gem in Dorchester. And by hidden, I mean unless you are a part of this neighborhood and you love this neighborhood, you will easily choose to pass by Ashley’s. But all the locals love this place and frequent this joint for a reason. The food is great. No frills, straight up AWESOME breakfast. The only other breakfast shop that I adore in Boston is actually in Watertown(Tresca’s) but Tresca’s is too far. Ashley’s satisfies my craving for cheap breakfast food, friendly service and that neighborhood feel. I highly recommend getting your behind outta bed early and getting the early bird special– comes with your choice of home fries or grits, your choice of meat(i recommend the spicy sausage), any kind of toast, eggs however you want them and unlimited coffee. Let the haters hate– Ashley’s will live on forever!!!

If I could give no stars I would. SIGN: Please wait to be seated. There’s a good couple of available tables for us to sit. This is my bf and I’s first time so were just waiting to have one of the many workers to tell us to where to sit or even acknowledge us on any whereabouts. Stood there for three mins. nothing, workers can’t even smile or say anything. Just looked at us like we’re the sun light … So we just walked out. great service. NOT ! apparently customers are not important. Never again so I wouldn’t recommend this place. Going to southie for good breakfast at VERY a good price. @my diner southie on a street

I havent been here in years. i moved out of the area over 10 years ago. When I lived here before, I was a REGULAR for their early morning breakfast hours. I recently moed back to Dorchester and I’ve been here twice in the last 3 days — Absolutely Wonderful! Grits, scrambled eggs w/cheese, pancakes, bacon, wheat toast and bottomless coffee! Yum!!! Only $ 8 for all of that? Yes, please! DH got a massive ham, sausage and cheddar omelette, homefries, toast and coffee for under $ 7.Where else can you get that? Service is friendly, fast, and comes from REAL people who know the neighborhood and the people that live in it. No complaints here. Im glad that I moved back over here; Lord knows I need a «Go-To» breakfast spot in my area. (PS: There is a parking lot next door for all of you non-riders of the T!)

I’m not sure what is going on at Ashley’s these days. The food is still good, BUT– the prices have GONETHROUGHTHEROOF! At first, I thought it was an error when my total for two was higher than normal. On my most recent visit, I noticed the guy in front of me asking for a receipt as he was questioning his total. When Miss Cashier rang me up, it LITERALLY took ALL the cash I had, and I was actually short 10cents. This was breakfast for TWO, not six. Ashley’s, you’re family owned, you’re in the hood, your food is great, your GRITS are heavenly, I WANT to support you, send my peeps to you, but I’m kinda done with you and your prices. I’m not so sure you’re worth the money anymore. My how you’ve changed since my first review in ’07. I understand inflation, recession, etc., but your prices have become scandalous. You’ve disappointed me. I’m saddened.
