The best curry chicken I have ever had. I love this place. I LOVE the food and the service. Quick and simple. They made a mistake on our order once Ana fixed it immediately. I love this place.

Love! Love ! Love their Jamaican Jerk chicken! It’s probably the only thing I crave for whenever I go(which is like twice/3 times every month) ! I always ordered the jerk chicken, rice and peas and sautéed cabbage ! It’s the best thing ever there! The portions are huge and filling that I always have to finished the next day! The jerk chicken is pretty spicy & comes with about 4 – 5 pieces and goes so well with the coconut flavored rice and peas. I’ve been dying to try their Mac & cheese but they’re always sold out of it whenever we go(because we always go late lol). Their BBQ chicken and Baked chicken are also delicious and has a good amount of flavor that it doesn’t taste dry! All their chickens are soft and fall off the bones; it’s great I tell ya!

I like it! I am a little biased with my wife being from Portmore, Jamaica. The food makes her happy. The business is friendly. The staff laugh at my jokes, are they programmed to do that or am I funny? I feel comfortable there and will continue to go back. Their fried chicken is tasty, we eat it in the car on the way home. I think this place would kick butt with a second location in Allston!

Food is good but was better in the past. I agree with other reviewers, the price change by the hour. The front staff aren’t too friendly. Not very attentive, always looking over you. Some of the staff are friendly, but they are in few and need to lead a workshop to train other staff. But the place is clean, food is good, prices is eh, service is eh.

I ordered one plate with curry chicken, macaroni pie & steamed veggies & another with rice & peas & oxtails. It was really good! One of the best I’ve had in a long time. It look about a little less than 15 mins for the food(place was packed)-which is a good sign! One of the best Caribbean spots! Must try!

Delicious food but they never have Mac and cheese also run out of patty with coco bread quick. You ask the clerk if they have any of those they just reply no. Don’t bother to say in 10 mins we will no sorry either. I called to check if they had something while I was On my way like 3 mins away when I arrived they no longer had it and walked out empty handed I felt lied to. Other than that their curry shrimp with rice and cabbage is amazing.

So, this is my second review for this place. I’m a big believer in trying out a place a couple times before deciding whether it’s good or not. Well, the verdict is out, I was as disappointed this time as I was last time. I went there with a couple of friends to grab a quick bite, I ordered the medium fried chicken with rice. Having failed to check the food before leaving, when I got home I was presented with what appeared to be a mountain of rice(I swear it was higher than Everest) and three pieces of chicken that barely had any chicken on it. All of these transgressions are forgivable, however, what I found inexcusable was the fact that the mountain rice had absolutely NOSAUCE. And this is after I had mentioned to the cashier that I wanted extra sauce. If it was April, I would have thought it was an April fools joke, but seeing that it is June, I’m not quite sure how to explain this injustice. In short, DONOTGOTHERE.

Some of the best Jamaican food I’ve ever had. So far they’re curry chicken, esco chicken, fried chicken and patties are all AMAZING. All of the food is well seasoned and they are very efficient when it comes to filling the orders. The staff is friendly and will double check with you to insure your order is correct, and they dont mind when I do. Minus 1 star because the place is pretty small and it gets crowded pretty easily and there’s very little sitting.

I was visiting Boston and as with everywhere I go I try to find good Caribbean food. I was not disappointed — I went for the goat but the cabbage was to die for. The restaurant was clean and the service was good. So why the four stars? They ran out of fried dumpling :-(Maybe next time.

I love this place! The food is great! I usually get the rice and peas with chicken. They give u a lot of food with great prices. Although it’s usually busy, I don’t mind the wait because the food is worth it!

I’m not one to buy Chicken out, simply because i feel that if I’m going to spend money that its going to be on something extravagant like Lobster, Oxtail, Curry Goat or something. But, I have to tell you, I am in love with this places Jerk Chicken, I dream about it on my way home from work. The Jerk Chicken has great Flavor and is nice and tender, falls apart at a forks touch. The Rice and Peas are un-adultuated. What does that mean, simply, I do not have to pick Thyme springs out of it, or anything else. The rice is clean on your palate, Love It. The most important part of this review, has to do with the establishment, CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN… cannot stress how clean the owner and employees keep this place. Pans containing food is spotless, employee attire and grooming is a relief to what other establishments want their patrons to accept as the normal. They are very systematic and professional. I really feel good spending my hard earned dollars here for a meal made with love. Thank you…

This place is mainly take out with a few stools to sit if one chooses however it won’t be relaxing by any means. As the two table tops are right at the door by the take out line. Oxtails are always good prob caught them on a bad day once other than that very flavorful and beefy taste. Curry goat and jerk chicken are great too. I never find either too spicy/hot as I can’t tolerate much heat in my food, but everyone is different. I always get the rice and peas which has a hint of coconut flavor. At $ 2 the Jamaican patties are good for a snack, but not much variety. I’m not sure if its just the day I tried them but they didnt have any other fillings besides beef. Overall I think they are the best Jamaican food Ive tried in Boston and always have a line so prepared items don’t sit long. Give them a try!

When I first moved here all I heard was the hype of this only one jamaican restaurant. Eventually I made my way over to see what all the hype was about. First meal was a mediocre plate of under seasoned tough oxtails on top of a bed of dry rice. Very disappointing. Months later I decided to give it another try. Was a little annoyed at how slow the line was moving but eventually I got my order. This meal was a little better just a plate of jerk chicken. Still a little under seasoned but overall just okay. It’s really unfortunate because this restaurant is down the street from my house and it’s really convenient. Honestly I much rather prefer Flames on morton.

this place was a far drive, but worth it. i arrived at the restaurant and noticed their vehicles impressively logoed. good sign. secondly, walking in, the place was very clean. usually you would see trays filled with oil soaked food, sitting out all day. they had advised me that around 11am would be the best time all the food comes out. i ordered the puff dough balls, 4 large jerk chicken plates, 1 large oxtail plate, jamaican patties, and a small jerk pork. the dough balls werent all that great. i figured it would be like festival, far from it. the jerk pork, chicken, and oxtail were fantastic! i recommend these highly. the larges plates come with 5 pieces of meat, cabbage slaw, and a TON of rice. the jamaican patties were fantastic. they felt like they were beef and bean instead of beef(which i wanted) oh well, they were still good. all in all, great place, clean and they even gave me a bottle of hot sauce to go! the only reason i am giving them 4 stars is because i have been to Jamaica, we had SCOTCHY’S and i thought that was the norm. they wood grill their food and its AMAZING! go here for clean and friendly fast service.

I am from Jersey and visited with my boyfriend last weekend who is from Roxbury and I have to say that I loved the food. I ordered a small Oxtail and my boyfriend had a large Jerk chicken and we really enjoyed our food. The price was very affordable for the amount of food we got. I would have been charged at least $ 6 more for the order of Oxtail I got if I had been home in Jersey and it wouldn’t have tasted anywhere near as good. I will be back again when I visit Boston next month because it is worth it. The restaurant is very clean and the neighborhood is safe as far as I’m concerned.

This one is for a previous reviewer, «Kelsey M.» I live and work in this neighborhood… within a 10 minute walk of this fabulous establishment. Portions are generous(my wife and I split a large of anything for under $ 12 and still have a bit leftover for later). Great curry goat, jerk chicken and BBQ chicken. As for the«bad neighborhood» comment, if you drove over 30 minutes to get here, how the heck do you know what the neighborhood is like? You clearly don’t LIVE here. Only One is a credit to the neighborhood. The staff are professional and quick. Their uniforms are clean, their manner professional. The business has NEVER have an issue with the board of health and their owner stays engaged with the community. I’m as white as can be, and certainly didn’t grow up with Caribbean food… but this place beats most of its competitors in quality, portion and pricing. A local winner, hands-down.

Drove 30 minutes into the heart of the hood for the WORST food I’ve ever paid for! They ran out of Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork, so we tried 2 other dishes. The food was so nasty I didn’t eat it! The place is in a bad neighborhood and isn’t the most sanitary looking establishment. The prices are cheap, but when you throw out the food, is it worth it?

Okay, so I’m not really big on Jamaican food, I like the simple beef patties. However, this place has the cleanest serving line I’ve seen in a long time, and the traditional dishes LOOK so appetizing. Like saltfish and akee. Looked so good, I almost tried it. Anyway, great beef patties and a generous selection of Jamaican dishes. Nice clean place, small, not much room for seating, but there is some. Staff is always very polite. Prices won’t break ya either.
