I’m definitely a fan of this place! It’s another lunch spot of mine: D I almost always order their ¼ Pollo Asado(¼ Grilled Chicken) not only because I love the taste of their grilled chicken, but it’s the perfect amount of food at an affordable cost of $ 4.59. It comes with sauce, corn tortilla, vegetables and rice with the ¼ grilled chicken. As much as I don’t enjoy the music because it’s folk music that’s at time a bit loud, I care about the food. Therefore, due to the delicious food offered at an affordable price, it’s a lunch spot :) If you’re interested, please look at the photos! Oh, and of course, they have plenty more delicious choices(refer to the menu photos I’ve taken)!

We usually come here for their fantastic grilled chicken but today we had grilled T-bone steaks. Probably the one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! Awesome!

Meh is right. A place famous for chicken yet just as I feared dry as the Sahara. Charro beans had cut up hot dogs in them… only saving grace was the chicken soup.

They make a wonderful chicken from the Sinaloa area in Mexico. If you order a whole chicken they would give you a chicken and half with beans, Mexican rice, tortillas and salad. I only do takeout here. They have a authentic hot sauce with this combo that I think up to four people would be satisfied. They are located beside Mozart Bakery in Buford Highway.

I’m really not a soup person but when I’m sick, I’m all about the chicken soup. And the best chicken soup? Mexican chicken soup. Except you know how whenever you’re looking for something, you can never find it? I first went to Taqueria El Rey Del Taco but they only have seafood soup — they told me to check out Sinaloense Pollos Asados across the street. I was always curious about this place, I drive by it so many times also it shares the same lot as Café Mozart and Korea Garden. You also can’t help notice the wonderful aroma of flame-grilled meat when you step out of your car :) The ambience is divey, the menu boards are overwhelming(huge menu selection!) — I was relieved to see an English translation. More importantly they have chicken soup :) I got the small size b/c I wanted to make sure I’d like it first — turns out the«small» was plenty big for me and since I ordered an entrée too, I had leftover soup to enjoy later :) COMPLIMENTARYCHIPSANDSALSA Chips tasted a little stale — the salsa was the green creamy spicy kind which was pretty good. CHICKENSOUP — $ 5.50(small) The broth was pretty mild, not salty at all — and it had big carrot chunks(skin not peeled), big red potato chunks, zucchini slices and a chicken leg(skin too). Looks plain until you add the bowl of chopped onions and cilantro which really is the icing on the cake, adding texture and crunch and well — I love cilantro :) Oh and squeeze some lime juice in there too. Avocado slices would’ve been great but I still enjoyed. The soup also came with 4 fresh corn tortillas and tomato salsa. ¼ POLLOASADO(GRILLEDCHICKEN) — $ 4.59 How could I eat just the chicken soup when the smell of flame-grilled meat was all around me? Ordered the ¼ chicken which came with Mexican rice(good), 4 fresh corn tortillas and salad(boo chopped iceberg). The wing was very good but the rest of the chicken was a little dry and the skin was burnt. I still enjoyed the flavor and I’d definitely get it again. This is a great deal for $ 4.59. Overall pretty good food. I’d love to explore the other menu items like the burritos and tacos. I’m guessing the Menudo soup is probably good here — served Sat/Sun only … except I’m not a tripe fan. Not many people during lunch but did see several Mexican customers come in and out. They have soccer on TV :)

We were disappointed, After perusing the menu, which had other tempting choices, we decided to go with the signature pollo asado(grilled chicken). After all, that’s the name of the restaurant. The good news is that a sign on the restaurant window says that if you buy a whole chicken, they’ll give you a chicken and a half. So, the $ 15 invested for a whole chicken(with one half more free), with rice or beans, salad, tortillas, grilled onion and salsa, was quite a bargain. The refried beans were great, with a nice flavor of chorizo or chipotle. However, the chicken was dried out from being way over-cooked and, if there was flavor in a marinade or rub, it was completely overshadowed by the taste of char. I’d take dry or flavorless and say that I’d give it another try; but not both. If this is the restaurant’s specialty, then it ought to be able to tell when they’ve ruined a batch. So, my conclusion is either that this is the way they always serve their chicken or they don’t care if they’re serving trash. Either way, I won’t try it again.

Three stars for the chicken(only) and consider take-out if you value your sanity… It’s been years since I have visited El Norteno, but there is no missing Pollos Asados in the same shopping center as Korea Garden on Buford Highway. The space at Pollos Asados is significantly smaller than the one Korea Garden has and(be careful) Pollos Asados has odd«levels» to the flooring so you have to watch your step upon entering because when you enter, you assume you will head over straight to the counter in front of you, which looks like a Subway sandwich making counter, but a waitress will walk you over to seats. This place is rather chaotic to eat in. The mexican music being piped in is ridiculously loud and therefore the television hanging in the tiny dining room is also stupidly loud, and then add in the sounds from the kitchen — the sizzling grill, chattering cooks and the butchering of chicken meat(Clunk! Cluck! Cluck!) and it’s not a mellow place to eat…(whew) The waitress that served us was very pleasant and had a good command of English. That was lucky because you will find very little English on the menu or sandwich board. We were both pretty hungry and decided to try the chicken special, which was one and half chickens, one side(too small for two people really), warm tortillas and salsa. The waitress suggested the churro beans and said they would have pork in them… we got another side of rice. Everything is served in stryofoam(sadly) and you are presented with the typical, crappy white-plastic fork that every run-of-the-mill restaurant seems to utilize(same kleenex-type napkins as well). I really prefer some kind of metal fork particularly if I’m going to be eating chicken off the bone. About a third of the way through our meal, I noticed a server wrapping metal utensils and i got up and nabbed some from her. Oddly, the«pork» in the churro beans was … get ready … you’re sitting down right? … cut-up hotdogs. Yes, dear god, they put cut-up hotdogs in their churro beans. I don’t know what to think about that. Being a big fan of beany-weeneys, back when I was age 8 or so, I didn’t hate but wonder if «doing odd things with hotdogs» is become a trend? So, three stars for the food, if you take it out.

What a surprising treat. This place is as good or if not probably better than El Norteno(which is excellent) in that it is cleaner and seems to have better quality. This place also has 1 of the best tasting burritos. The best sausa rojo. And by far the best refried beans ever. I can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu. This place is a definite home runs for lunch. Mexican food is Mexican food, in that it usually never fantastic but also never really really bad. The only problem with this place is the food is so tasty I could not stop eating it and I was ruined for the rest of the day.

Went here for lunch on Thursday, got a ¼ chicken with rice, and a side of refried beans. It was really, really good, properly charred, a little smoky and in generous portions — I got 2 legs and a thigh. It’s definitely in the same league as El Norteno up Buford highway, but what I loved was the side of refried beans. That was the best dish of beans I have ever had, and I want more. If you’re vegetarian, just drive away, because there is definitely pork in there for flavor, there was a tasty little bite in my serving, and it was spicy in a way I have never had beans. As for the english thing, the waitress working when I went spoke english just fine, explained the special and everything, as did the guy who rang me up, so your experience may vary. Don’t let that stop you from trying them out. Oh, you may have a little trouble finding them on Google maps, I think you have to use the exact name as listed on Unilocal — Pollos Asados Autentico Sinaloense.
