Great place for lunch! Reasonable prices, friendly service, and home-style cooking make this little spot a winner. I had the Mariachi Burger with a side salad for only $ 8. The burger was flavorful and juicy, and the salad was nice and fresh. It was a very hot day, and the temperature was refreshingly cool. Local folks wandered in and out, visiting with the bartender and greeting each other. One party requested special orders with no sugar, etc, and bartender and cook discussed all the options until they were satisfied with their orders. Great service!

Ended up here on an unexpected adventure. Thought this was like the Buckhorn in Winters that I have heard so much about over the years. This is just a bar that serves bar food. I had a decent cheeseburger and the wife had the steak sandwitch. Both were decent. I will probably never eat here again but what the heck today it was OK.

This place has a happy hour special that includes the taps drafting Sierra Nevada pale ale, Widmer, and Blue Moon beer! We stopped by here for a quick drink and some food before heading over to the pinball show at the fairgrounds. It’s an atmosphere-rich country bar with a fantastic kitchen menu that includes some truly good selections. My dining partner and I got a plate of 12 potstickers and a lamb-asiago burger to share. The bartender told me that all the lamb items on the menu are made with locally-raised lambs. While we waited for our food to be prepared, we had a pleasant wait at the bar. There were Kentucky horse racing programs on the screen, and there was free wifi for patrons. I noted that the top shelf in front of me had some interesting whiskey and bourbon selections that would be nice to try on a future visit. The inside façade had stonework covering an archway and one section of a wall on one side. There was also a DJ trying to warm up the crowd(this was on a Friday). When the plates of food came out, I was pleased to see that it all looked delicious. The potstickers came with two different dipping sauces. The lamb burger came pre-cut in halves. One bite of the burger resulted in a delightful explosion of juicy, fresh grilled lamb flavor. My gosh, this was a real treat! No way am I ever passing by Dixon without stopping for food at this place. That dives and diners review cable show had better not come here, because I don’t want the secret to get out. The burgers are very reasonably priced. Once a tv show«discovers» a place, the crowds grow and the prices go up. (Keep this place a local gourmands’ secret.)

Came in randomly on an early Sunday afternoon on our way home from Tahoe, and right away was greeted and seated. Arrived just in time for the kitchen to open and multiple football games playing on different TVs. Nice sports bar with great customer service by the bartender(Eddie). Glad to have entered randomly for a pit stop b/c the food was pretty good as well. 2 — Chk/avocado sandwiches, a B.L.T.A sandwich with 2 orders of fries and a salad. Not your average sports bar food/menu so the variety of options was much appreciated at a decent price. Much better selection and environment than going to a fastfood joint.

Really a great place to hang out! The«barista fraunina Tonya» was the best ever! Asked my name and shook my hand upon entering! Wow! Service, atmosphere and the music was all badass! Before I left, was introduced to a mix of a dozen locals/employees. .Hella great people! For the Germans who frequent the area, excellent place for a beer. Tonya speaks German! Best bar in Dixon, hands down!

This place is really good. I had a steak salad here, and the meat was great, plus the greens were so crunchy and fresh. I think I prefer the tenderness of Cattlemans, but Buckhorn has a nicer setting. It’s more upscale, and I love the décor. The waiters are also very attentive and patient. The portions are ginormous.

Came in hoping to watch football and have some lunch, but there was no food being served today. Very disappointing and needed to find another place to get some lunch. Not sure if I will come back. Kim — San Diego

Sometimes the best things come from the most unexpected places. Like the Stones rocking a dive bar, chef Tom Farrell dishes up «off the hook» food like rack of lamb for ten bucks at the Buckhorn in Dixon. If you can handle eating fine dining quality food on a barstool, this is a place to enjoy some awesome eats at reasonable prices. On most Fridays you can get a bowl of clam chowder that rivals anything you can get on the East Coast. Everything is cooked to order with the care of a top chef in a 5 star restaurant. You won’t find a tablecloth or even a table, but what you will find is great food at reasonable prices and a colorful local crowd. The menu is always changing but never disappointing. Check it out.

I was not impressed as this was my first time at this Bar. THISISNOTBYFAR A STABATTHEBUCKHORNINWINTERSWHICH I.LOVE. Let me start out by saying that the scenery is a little ghetto on Saturday night. Security was out back smoking pot and the other security guy at the front door was rude and was looking at everyone like he wanted to beat them with his flashlight. It was just ridiculous. Not a place to go if youre looking for a drama free night. As soon as the DJ called closing. time they started yelling at everyone to put their drinks down and GETOUT! wow really!!! Appearently they call the Police Dept before they do this because there were plently of cops waiting outside the bar. This place was not a good experience for me. I see everyone saying their food is good but no thanks on the atmosphere. Ill stick to the Buckhorn in Winters for steak and Elsewhere for drinks.

This is by far the best steak and prime rib you will probably ever find(other than mine lol) the right aging and marbling of the meat makes it so tender. The rib eye is my favorite if I had to choose. But luckily if you and your better half do it right by ordering 2 different choices and sharing them you don’t have to choose!

buckhorn is probably dixon’s best BAR… i didnt realize people actually use it as a grill… lol…but maybe for lunch ya. i usualy dont get in there till after 8pm, when it is not serving food… but lots of booze! owned by a family freind of mine… Rich…very cool guy. its a block from my parents house, so thats a PLUS. but even better is their new buckwild SHUTTLE! if you live in dixon, enjoy a ride home safely on fri/sat nights =) just ask… the atmosphere varies greatly night to night, during the week they have more low key, less population, things like kareoke night, weds and thurs i beleive, and card night(tues?), usually on the weekends is obviously the busiest, but occasionally on a friday night it is still ok. im not a big fan of the huge dancing crowd… myself…but if you like the club scene with live music/DJ tahn fri/sat nights are for you ;) its gets very busy, so busy sometimes i can barely walk through the place… to get to the smokers patio. lol. i like that they have 2 patios(only one you can take your drinks out with you however) and the shuttle. key points to the buckhorn. bartenders make good drinks, try and AMF or a sunkist shot… very good here.

Tried this place for the first time. They don’t open up until noon. I had the new york steak sandwich for lunch at $ 9. It was fantastic! The wait was a little long, but worth it. The fries were piping hot and the steak sandwich was basically a big steak between a toasted hoagie roll. I didn’t care for the lettuce and mayonnaise on the sandwich and think it could be served with A1 sauce. This thing was hay-uge. The bartender Annie said«you won’t go away hungry» and I thought, «yeah, right», but she was spot on. The steak was about ¾ «thick and cooked medium. If you’re a blue-collar Joe six-pack guy and want a place to get a big piece of beef, here’s your spot.

I came here for the first time randomly last Wednesday. I was expecting an over priced so-so slab of meat. Turns out on Wednesdays not only do they have an 8oz sirlion dinner for $ 9.99 they also have ½ price bottles of wine!!! We had the coconut shrimp which were very good with a sweet sauce. The bread was fresh and served with real butter. The salad was sub par, but that didn’t really matter. The steak was yummy, and I added blue cheese crumbles to it for just 0.99. There normal priced meals were a little pricey but looked like they would be worth the price. I would like to go back and try their prime rib. Our server was very prompt and nice. We never had to ask for a drink refill or anything else. The booth we were seated at was large and comfortable. I can’t wait to go back next Wednesday for more yummy steak and ½ price bottles of wine.

Came here one night to watch a friend play on Poker Night(which I believe they have Tue and Thurs). Plenty of people there on a Thursday night, but not packed. Seemed like everyone was friendly and having a good time. I’d go there again but I’d have to drive home :-(
