Brandywine Banquets is a banquet hall located in 441 IL Route 2, Dixon, IL, United States. Brandywine Banquets provides an elegant and affordable venue for weddings, wedding receptions, anniversaries, business meetings, fundraisers, benefit dinners, proms and more. The Brandywine Banquet hall has two main floors, both with various space and pricing selections for any event. Brandywine Banquets has a classic chalet exterior with a European architecture and design. Established in 1976, Brandywine Banquets is a historic and large venue for special occasions, seating up to 400 guests upstairs and an additional 175 – 200 downstairs. There are the remains of a medieval style in Brandywine Banquets with coats of armor, large wood beams, family crests, wooden chandeliers, and stained glass as décor. However, with some recent and modern renovation, the interior has a light and airy appearance, with dimming lights for atmosphere, a sound system for any party and central air.
History
Established in 1976.
The Brandywine was built along the lines of wayside inns in old England, and its rustic construction was made possible through the creative use of an assortment of huge 100 year old timbers, salvaged bricks, steel, glass, and other building materials. From the building’s exterior brick, derived from an industrial building, the former Merill School in Rock Falls, and the old Chicago Northwestern Freight Depot, to the pair of antique doors at the main entrance, which once hung in the Court House in Dixon, the Brandywine is a historic masterpiece of the Sauk Valley. Additionally, the European architecture lends to high-beamed ceilings with elegant chandeliers, a spacious open floor plan, three brick fireplaces, knights of armor (these can be easily removed or used as a prop at receptions!), original wood work and brick floor, most of which is from the original streets of Sterling and Dixon.
