The Boat Dock

I took my aluminum fishing boat w 25 HP outboard in for repair. Paid for carb rebuild and thermostat. Took it out for a test still not running properly. Returned it to them, got the run around for many weeks, supposedly they fixed it and took it for a test run. Well guess what, they lied. I will never go back to them again. Watch out. I should have checked the Unilocal reviews before decided to go there and would have saved myself alot of time and frustration.

I have to give this place a bad review. I took my boat in for basic outdrive work in which the going price for the area is $ 750.00 with all the parts. (I did research this with 3 other shops after the fact) they charged me $ 1100 for the same work. They also told me that I needed another $ 600.00 additional work. After checking the part that they wanted to replace I found that the highest price with shipping was $ 200.00 for the whole unit. The part only needed a seal which cost me $ 23.00 and 30 min labor. Their estimate was $ 425.00 for the part and $ 250 labor to install. These guys are just parts changers and they double the price for the part and 4 times the labor cost. They had a really bad attitude when I asked them why so much. They treated me like I was an ignorant fool not knowing I know about boats, but due to recent surgery, I was unable to do the heavy outdrive work by myself. BEWARE… Unless you enjoy being deceived and overcharged, please don’t go here… Save your money.

When these guys were in Fremont, they were great, not so much here. They really are awful. I’ve lived here 3 years now, and have taken my boat over there 3 times for different things. Every time they have screwed something else up, or didn’t do the job correctly that they were paid to do. They don’t care what the job looks like when they return the boat to the customer. They’ve broke multiple other items while fixing other things, and haven’t done anything close to a professional job. I will never go back there and you should avoid it too. What a ripoff business.

The photos of this dump of a business are misleading, to say the least… went by there yesterday and it really is a dumpy place. Add to that, they’re the same people as Mineko Marine in Tracy and Fremont. Not recommended unless you want to give your business to people who in my experience obviously don’t care much for being honest and ethical.

horrible customer service. I asked them to give me a quote for some work. It has been almost 3 months since requesting the quote. I have called them 4 times now. each time I have been told they will call me back today. but they never do.

I simply pulled my boat out of this place!!! Multiple dates for return, everytime I called it was a new thing wrong (so they say)…I approved work only to find it not done, the boat not tested or run after I went all the way out there to get it… constantly being told I would get a call only to get nothing at all… Now my engine is blown or at a minimum has blown head gasket that wasnt like that when I brought it… my boat just had the interior redone and I pointed that out when I dropped it off now to have dirt and grease all over it… The mechanics are good people and so is the office staff… I also had my price adjusted without approval… Only to be told… Oh we left that out… problem was it was in writing on the work order… Eric needs to be more focused on his customers and more organized… not just saying things to to CYA!!! I was told my batteries are no good… which they work fine… told my starter was no good… and I believe it was ok, although aging… so I approved a new starter to be told… I didnt approve it when they forgot to put it in… Not to mention attempting to give me the boat back full of dirt and grease, no testing of the engine they had just worked on was very unprofessional… Very sorry my boat ended up here, and you will be too!

Where do I start… I’ve used them in the past and was very satisifed, so I was going to use their services again to do a minor repair on my boat. What I did not know is that they switched owners recently. I scheduled them to go where the boat was stored to perform a diagnostic on my motor because it would not run without the choked button depressed. They said they diagnosed the boat and that I needed a new carborator and that they could rebuild it for $ 400 in addition to the cost of diagnosing the boat. Come to find out they never went to the boat, more less diagnosed it! I won’t go in to detail on how I know for a fact they never set foot near the boat, but needless to say they are very dishonest to say the least. They are threatening to file a mechanics lien now if I don’t pay them for diagnosing the boat! Ridiculous! Look up their Unilocal reviews for their Fremont shop before hiring these guys. I would give them a zero if Unilocal allowed for it.

Stored our boat there for the winter awesome customer service very helpful and car about what u have to say. I went in to get my boat out of the water and the tires had gone flat from sitting. The older man behind the desk was very helpful and let me borrow a set of wheels for the day so i could take my boat to the water and get some new tires on my trailer after. Highly recommended storage facility

Run fast away from this scam. This place is sinking fast and they are trying to take
the customers with it.

I don’t know where to begin about the fantasic service that the boat dock gives. I dicovered them after they moved from Fremont to their new location in Dicovery Bay. Mike over there is fantastic giving you the most friendly honest service you will find in the industry. They always do great work on time with a great price that won’t break your bank. I will give you and example of their over the top customer sevice. I have been going through a million things in my life and I was having issues getting my boat over to them for service. Mike asked where I lived and said I go right by your house on my way to work. So Mike took it upon himself to stop by my house in the morning and hooked up my boat and took it to the boat dock for service. This saved me so much time and stress of getting it over there. I don’t think you will find this kind of service anywhere. I would recommed the boat dock to anyone out there who wants their boat treated with care and outstanding customer service. Weak serice!
They never have any service items for my boat. Every time they have to call in for a price they say they will call me later instead of calling the company then and there. Days go by and they call me with a price and a availability of a few days.

I recently moved to Brentwood and bought my first used boat. The guys at the Boat Dock (Mike and Marty) were great. They helped me get my boat set for the summer and charged very reasonable prices. They are great!

Never again. Just a terrible experience. Mike seemed like a nice guy but was very disorganized. Each time I called he had to ask me which boat was mine, each time he said he would call me back and asked me my phone number every time (I am not sure they have any kind of system for each order with all the customers data at their finger tips). Finally on around the 6^th time i told him to look up my number, i was tired of him not having it. Just lots of excuses. They had my order for about 2 months with very little work being done. They could not get my boat started so, they replaced the fuel pump (I do not think it needed replacing). It still would’t start so weeks later they came and took my carburator to re-​build it. They finally got it going, so they said. I was going to take the family out and went to start the boat, it would start but the idle was set too low and would not run when put in gear. I drove over to their shop and caught them before they left for the day and asked them to come over and adjust the carburator. They did come over and messed with the carburator until it would stay running so I could put it into gear without the engine dying. They left and we heaeded out in the boat. The engine kept surging and then dropping back. This would not cure itself and stayed that way, the boat would not run right. Just a poor job all around. Boat will not run very well (unusable). I will not have these guys touch it again. I will now have to pay someone else to fix their mess. I was without a boat for about 2 months. There is a lot more problems behind this but, I do not want to make this too long. Very unhappy!

Glad to have found them after they moved from Fremont. I always took my Glastron in for service and now that my newer boat is ready for service will be driving the extra just to make sure they take care of me. Very good shop, service, technical skill is tops, and most important, I trust them with my life, because when your on the water, you can’t just pull over to the side of the road.
I was sorry to see them move, they are a rare find!
