I’ve heard great things about this place so I decided to give it a try! We were not disappointed we had the 3 meat omelet special and bacon and egg whites and it was delicious! Coffee was also great! Our waitress Kathleen I believe was her name gave excellent service. We will be back :)

Just moved into the area and decided to try this place out. Don’t go!!! Went there today and had omelette with hashbrowns and biscuits and gravy. My boyfriend had a burger. Everything was so bland we couldnt finish it. We felt sick immediately.

We have lived here in Diamond Springs for 2 ½ years and have not eaten at the«Hotel» Our Anniversary was last Saturday, so we went to the«Hotel» for dinner. We ordered our drinks and looked over the menu. The waitress was very friendly. We knew what was on the menu as we looked it up on line. I noticed the prices on a few items were slightly higher than the menu on line. I ordered the Saturday special Prime Rib. My wife ordered the Prawns. My salad was a nice size dinner salad and it was Delicious. My wife had clam chowder. She said it was great. My Prime Rib was perfectly cooked and the Ajus was the best. The prawns were good and the fry’s were cooked just how my wife likes them. When we arrived at 5:00, there weren’t that many people there. But by the time we finished our meal, place was full. We had mentioned to the waitress that we were out to celebrate our anniversary when we arrived. When we were finished with our dinner, the waitress brought us a nice ice cream dessert on the house. That made our evening complete. We will be back ! The dinner was fantastic.

My parents and my wife and I have been nearly weekly customers here for the last 15 years. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has gone down and down. It’s gotten more greasy and the cooks attention to detail has gotten steadily worse. 11÷7÷15 is the last time any of our family will ever go there. Today, my wife ordered an eggs, potatoes and toast, with the bacon extra crispy and on the side as she is a vegetarian and the extra bacon was for me. She clearly stated she wanted the eggs on the side 3 times to the waitress. Food came and had 3 pieces of super limp and greasy bacon all across the top of her food. Of course this is not okay for a vegetarian, so we asked that the eggs and potatoes be re-made. The waitress rolls her eyes at us, grabs the plate and storms off. 5 minutes later they bring back out the«replacement» plate, but the bacon pieces UNDER the egg kinda gave it away that they just flipped the food over and left it under a heat lamp for 5 minutes. So…we won’t be going back.

I have eaten here 5 – 6 times for breakfast and lunch and the food is better than most all restaurants. FRESH, large servings, many many menu options, beer and wine is served. The service is always very good and super friendly and great with children(nieces and nephew). My most recent meal Turkey, Avocado and cream cheese sandwich was GREAT– large slices of avocado, plenty of cream cheese and delicious turkey that tasted like it had just been cooked. LOVE this place and their food — great eggs benedict, homemade soups and rolls.

Went to Apple Hill with friends and some locals. For lunch the locals recommended Diamond Springs Hotel. That was a perfect laid back, excellent food experience after a morning of walking. Excellent comfort food, great waitresses, generous tasty portions and set in a very quaint old hotel that’s got a lot of history. I will definitely go back there when I’m in the area.

Diamond Springs Hotel. Not at all a hotel anymore, and not at all to be thought of as one. I went into this«situation» not too excited. I sat down, not too excited. I looked at the menu, and thought to myself, «although I’m not too excited, there’s a part of me that thinks this place is going to surprise the heck outa me.» I was right, almost going for a sandwich, suggested to me were the burgers on their in-house, fresh-made dinner rolls. After enjoying a decently flavored chili I was served an absolutely fantastic cheese burger on a delicately delicious, oversized dinner roll. Out of this world good, way better than expected, and those are some of the best meals to be had. Would go back in a heart beat, to get such friendly service and tasty food, at this older, family diner style, historically rich, local restaurant. This is totally one of those stumbled upon gems you will always remember. Get the fried chicken, or come early for a bangin’ omelette!

We had another fantastic breakfast experience today!!! The Mrs ordered the California omelette and I went for my go-to Country Fried Steak and eggs. Both orders were served hot, fresh, and perfect. The biscuit side orders were so tasty. Mrs had hers with the fresh preserves and I ordered the gravy option. The service(thanks Lisa!) was as perfect as the food. Seriously great folks serving seriously great food. It’s so evident that this place has their priorities in order: 1) Kitchen– top notch cooks keep producing consistently wonderful food. 2) Service staff– friendly, professional, quick and very attentive! 3) Ambiance– clean, cute, inviting, and warm surroundings. 4) LOCAL!!!- nothing corporate, phony, or insincere. We love coming to the hotel and will continue to recommend this wonderful eatery to all our friends and family!

Decided to try this historic hotel diner. The ambiance is country kitchen with historic pictures of old Diamond Springs. I always have to try the Monti Christo so I gave this One a try. It was a great Wich. To start with the meal came with fresh cut frys that were cooked perfect. The actual sandwich was a little small but aside from that it was great French toast and great cheese plus just the right about of meat and jam. Go check this place out and take a look at all of the cool pictures and great food.

I told my roommates that i was driving and we were going to go on a adventure to Placerville. I decided to take the back way through Shingle Springs instead of HWY50. I was pretty hungry at that point and we made it to Diamond Springs. I came across this gem on the side of the road. Walked in and greeted by this nice lady and ordered some food. The texas omelette was extremely good and you could just tell that everything here tastes like its homemade. Great Service. Don’t pass up this place, it’s for real.

This review has been a long time coming… We have found ourselves waking up very early and driving 3 hours to eat breakfast here, no. Seriously, it’s worth it. Let me start by saying that the service it TOPNOTCH. Imagine if an establishment in California could have good old fashioned southern hospitality. Wait, no need to imagine, just come and dine at the diamond springs hotel. Every single entrée I have consumed here has been over the top delicious. The chicken fried steak is like an answered prayer in my mouth, The eggs are always cooked exactly to order(lots of establishments mess up «over medium») and the hot sauces are delicious. The last time we came to the diamond springs hotel we were waited on by Lisa, what an absolute sweetheart. Look no further for a place to dine, for you have found your destination.

Really love to eat here. Esp love their hot roast beef sandwich. Their hamburgers and fries are excellent as well. They make their salad dressings and I love the thousand island. We have eaten there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have left full and happy.

If your looking for old fashioned, down home goodness, this is the place. We stopped in for a quick breakfast, and WOW were we pleasantly surprised. The staff is active and very friendly, the food was awesome. Real homemade Butter Milk Biscuits and Gravy, you know like Great Grandma used to make. It’s been a long time since I have not put Tabasco on my biscuits, but here that would be sacrilege. The Corned Beef Hash is to die for. Bite sized Corned Beef, with fresh diced potatoes and Bell Pepper. What an awesome breakfast. Put this place on your must stop list.

I don’t understand why everyone loves going here. It was very bland. Maybe I went on a bad day. The service and the waitresses were SUPER sweet though!

Stopped by here while I was in the area. I ordered one of the $ 6.99 breakfast specials — «2−2−2» and it was written on my receipt. 2 eggs any style, 2 pieces of real big bacon(unlike some places), and 2 pancakes or pieces of French toast. The sunny side up eggs were a bit runny, but I’ve noticed this at many breakfast places. The 2−2−2 also comes with a very generous serving of very good butter(high fat content? European butter?) and syrup. Overall it was a good meal at a good price — especially for an independent restaurant.
