Service is too damn slow. I haven’t tasted my order yet but dont try this place. Not worth the long wait. I ordered right when they open and i still waited longer than the 10 minutes they told me. Imagine when they’re actually busy. Shut this place down or train your employees better

Don’t bother. Staff are friendly enough but they are more interested in socializing than serving customers. «Mashed potatoes» turned out to be runny potato soup. Chicken was hot but took 15 mins for an order with only one order ahead of me. Not worth the money, and this from someone who is generally a Popeyes fan.

The food is good, but the service is very very slow. 16 mins. For two piece and red beans and rice.

I yam what I yam… and what I yam is dissatisfied with this poorly managed restaurant. They really want you to use the touch screens beside the register to order, so to effect that, the people working ignore anyone standing in line. After a couple of minutes, they shout over their shoulder«If you want to order and you’re not paying with cash, use the touch screen». Of course, only one touch screen was working when I was there but I used it even though I don’t think that screen has seen a paper towel and some Windex since Carter was president. It’s really amazing that they can fit four people behind the counter and they can all avoid any kind of eye contract or direct interaction with the people trying to get food. When I was there, they seemed more interested in stocking sides than filling orders. I got a chicken biscuit and hash rounds. It took 8 minutes to get that, even though I was only the third person waiting and the second person received their order five minutes before me. I stood there and watched a lady carrying sides back and forth until she finally stopped, looked up at the order screen and assembled my order with chicken and biscuits that had been sitting there. Why not just serve your customers and then stock your sides? Ironically, even though the food had been sitting out under the heat lamps for awhile, everything was still very greasy. As other reviewers noted, the place is filthy. I can’t blame the workers, this is 100% a management problem. They provide greasy food and little in the way of customer service in an unsanitary environment. It doesn’t cost anything extra to smile, wipe down a table every now and then and actually serve your customers but the staff hasn’t been trained properly. It is with some regret I say that I cannot endorse this Popeye’s.

Not enough manpower to take a surge of incoming customers. In an airport! After waiting for more than 30 mins I had to cancel my order, which took 10 more minutes since everyone wanted to cancel.

Stay away, stay very far away. Textbook example of a poorly managed fast food chain. From the top: A. Terrible food quality. Paper thin is not what a chicken tender is, unless you water cut it to save $. Cold and tough is not good either. B. Your whole system is so customer un-friendly: dispensing plastic stemware one at a time? If I order a salad and red beans with rice then you know that I will need a fork and spoon. A knife too since the tomato is not cut. Fix your touch screen order system so 1. They all work, 2. They are eye level, for someone older than 4, 3. Fix the screen so they do not fall back into their cabinet when you use them. For the local manager: Bus(Clean) the tables! Clean the floors, pick up the huge pile of ice under the soda dispenser. All this under the heavy, grease-laden smoke hanging throughout this little gem of a place near Gate 61 at DTW.

The kiosks are the only thing slower than the staff… or should I say half the staff? As always one person busting her butt and the others watching. Always a fun time to watch the bumper people.

The worst service I’ve ever witnessed. The manager behind the counter was literally yelling at the employees. She kept saying: «I’m about to take my break, I just don’t care.» This was at high noon right during the lunch hour. I had to wait 15 minutes for my order. There was no logic to how they filled everyone’s order. I had to run to my gate. I thought this was going to be fast food. It was a breaded, greasy mess. Never again!

Terrible service and the staff couldn’t possibly move any slower or less productively. After a 20 minute wait, after ordering, they were out of spicy chicken. I needed to go so I took whatever they had. Got to the gate and opened the box… No fork. No time to go back. Cajun rice wasted.

Deplorable. I travel through DTW often and have never had a good experience at this Popeyes. It’s always something: the kiosks are down, we’re short staffed, there’s no more spicy chicken… They don’t even honor the coupon you get for taking a survey of THEIR restaurant! Service is agonizingly slow. If your order is anything other than mild chicken, prepare to wait 10+ minutes. It doesn’t have to be that way either. Visit the Wendy’s on concourse B. Best Wendy’s ever. Exceptional service. Even the prices at this Popeyes seem far more inflated than the other airport fast food. $ 4 for a large drink?! Yikes! Skip it.

Worst. Popeye’s. Experience. Ever. Walked up to the kiosk ordering stations, and thought«that’s not good» but the kiosk part went pretty well, actually. It was my first time using this system and it worked OK. Then came the train wreck; waiting for my food. There were 2 «cashier/servers» working, as well as a cook(not chef), and clearly everyone behind the counter likes each other — a lot. There was much grab-assing, sassy talking back and forth, and general fiddle-farting around — anything to avoid doing work — while the incoming line grew and grew and the number of people waiting for their food got bigger and bigger, eventually spilling out into the terminal and blocking foot traffic heading to and from other flights. When I arrived, my order number was 98. The number called just as I finished paying was 93. There were 5 orders in front of me. It took 19 minutes for my order to be boxed and handed to me. But the cashier/servers and cook were having such a good time, I didn’t mind all the shenanigans going on instead of giving me my food. NOT. Just as order 97 was being boxed, the manager came out, and all of a sudden everything was(more) business like, with things like«efficiency» and«quick service» suddenly came into view. At this point, there were more then 50 people waiting to order, pay, or be served. I won’t be back, certainly not here, and if I were you, I would avoid this outlet and find somewhere else to eat inside the airport.

It’s rare that I eat at airport concessions but this last Wednesday night I missed my original flight and had a 2 hour layover over dinner time. I decided to get a small bite l to hold me over. As I walked by Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen I saw a long line and I think that’s a good sign. My first warning should have been that ordering was done by kiosk. I had to use the pictures of the food to make my selection. To make matters worse only 2 of 3 kiosks were working and that was the reason for the long line. I placed my order for chicken po’ boy, received my receipt and proceeded to wait. Since I was carrying a bag I went to the ‘dining area’ to find a place to put my bag down and wait for my number to be called. It was then that I realized my second mistake was that the tables, the chairs, the floor was filthy. They had all sorts of debris from Popeyes including food, sauces, litter. Even though I ordered a single sandwich it seemed to take forever. In about 10 minutes they called my number and I sat down. The lady next to me was kind enough to suggest that the counter on the other side of her was a bit cleaner to eat. Thankfully it didn’t have any sticky residue on the chair or on the counter. The third problem was when I unwrapped the sandwich. When you hear po’ boy you consider a nice roll with a protein and some vegetables inside that roll but I was horrified to pick up a rather soggy plain hamburger roll with a single piece of chicken in it. Granted the chicken was dry, but that’s the way I like it anyway. The small side of macaroni and cheese was really the highlight of my order. This is a concession to be avoided. Not only were the surroundings filthy but the only good thing were the pictures of food and not the taste of the food. Keep walking down the Concourse and you’ll definitely find several places which are both clean and more appetizing.

Cheap card swipes on self service would not read my cards. Employees would not take my order without using the self service kiosk. Stupid. Walked across to Starbucks where customer service still exists. Next time spend more than 30 dollars on the device that processes your customers payments.

Delicious every time. Service is good And the line is always long. Very pricy but the food is good so it’s worth it. Biscuits are delicious and so is the chicken. Red beans and rice and sweet tea also wonderful.

This is a smaller Popeye’s with out all of the dishes. I really wanted Dirty Rice, but it wasn’t on the menu. I settle for Red Beans and Rice which took quite a long time, but were worth the wait. Also, I had a biscuit as I’m convinced Popeye’s is the best biscuit known to all mankind!

This location had me wow’d when I first walked by. I mean, you walk up to the counter, see the employee, and say what?? Nothing. Because there are 3 touch screen monitors in which you can place your entire order, including modifications, as well as pay using debit/credit card. Unlike other locations who often mess up your order when taking it and you dont realize it until you’ve paid and seen the receipt, this feature is worth gold. However, I advise you leave after seeing the fancy display. Like dont actually order. A disaster awaits. I suppose the do it yourself kiosks allows them to save costs on having a ton of cashiers. I think they took it too far, by only having two employees, 1 cook and 1 front line person. My girlfriend and I place our orders for breakfast, while waiting on our next flight. Next thing you know, 8 – 9 people placed orders behind ours. Welp the fancy machine failed, so the 1 front line person had to start taking orders, dealing with cash, and boxing the food. This also slammed that one little cook. So of course you know what happened next. My girlfriend’s order was made incorrectly. But at least she got food. Our ticket was 71. Out came 72 – 85, and I still had not gotten my food. They’re connected to a coffee bean and tea leaf, which oddly, is where they send you to get your coffee if you pay for it at popeyes. I got my coffee, and it was gone before I got my food. When I finally got it, cold tater tots, and she took one chicken tender and just tore it with her hands and put in on a biscuit and called it my chicken biscuit. Oh, and since it’s in the airport, double the price.

Food hot fresh juicy chicken, awesomely delish!!! Wiped /mashed potatoes with a Great Depression serving of gravy. Biscuit was yum! This airport location very pricey, 2 piece combo $ 7.99 +tax. If not for the over inflated price and lack of gravy this location would get 4 stars. There is no reason that an airport fast-food restaurant should have elevated prices… too many major cities throughout the country with normal street prices.

No way. This place is just gross. And it’s two times what fast food costs outside the airport. The unhygienic touch screens used to place your order, nah, not a good idea.
