Got a slice of yellow cake from here was almost finished when I saw a strand of coarse black hair on back of cake. Yeah never again

Solid wing and fish carryout. I would suggest calling ahead. They also have daily specials. I really like the seasoning they put on the food when it comes out.

Lunch time! What should I eat? Hmmm … Chicken wings! I checked on Unilocal and found this place. Perfect, I have eaten at many JJ fish back in Chicago and very rarely did they disappoint. My trusty GPS found this place easily enough. For those of you who have never been to JJ Fish, this is a fair warning to you. Most of JJ Fish will be in the rougher neighborhoods, trust me I know. I have been to many JJ fish back in Chicago and only one was in a «nicer» neighborhood. When I walked in to this restaurant I was not greeted, that is okay I expected that. I ordered my usual, 6 wings with Arizona Green Tea. This meal cost me $ 6.81(tax included) total. The chicken tasted YUMMY, I am glad that Detroit has JJ Fish. I always get mine with the Lemon Pepper. Now some JJ will ask if you would want Lemon Pepper on the chicken and others will just sprinkle Lemon Pepper without asking you, this location did not ask me and that was just fine with me. I think the Lemon Pepper«make» their chicken. Be warned, when you get the wings, they are very HOT. You will get the wings right off the flyer. Cons: the only complaint I have here is the size of the wings. The JJ in Chicago gives a much bigger wings. If you have never tried JJ give a try. Just be careful of the neighborhood and I would not go there when the SUN goes to sleep.

J and J has good southern style cornmeal breaded fried fish and crispy fried chicken wings. their fish can be a bit salty; so order light salt if you\re health conscious. their fries are soggy and the slaw is from a bucket; but the fish is the reason you go here. they’re a bit pricey on Pickerel; but cheap on catfish. the shrimp is in cornmeal and on the rubbery side. best to stick to the fish. they have a selection of cake by the slice and banana pudding for dessert. they also have a cooler of drinks to suit most non alcoholic appetites. call in your order in advance and you’ll get it hot. weekends can be busy so a call in always works best.

Love their chicken. The seasoning they use is noice! Only problem is the staff is a little lazy and ghetto, and they tend to be crowded often.
