Old school hardware, not a suburban big box. Found on the west side this old hardware store is the place to go if you are working on a piece of Detroit’s’ housing stock. That usually means a house older than your father. You won’t find giant bins of lumber, hundreds of lighting fixtures or toilets by the dozen. What you will find is a deep pool of knowledge. If the guys here can’t answer your questions, plan on calling a specialist. Don’t come here for the discounted prices but if you need the glass replaced in an old window or a window screen repaired, this is the place. They also carry a full line of plumbing parts and after hearing the problem described, they can usually explain what you need. For those of us with steam heat, this is the place to come when a radiator valve starts leaking.
Stop by, the guys behind the counter don’t bite, very often.
