Djenne Beads & Arts is your one stop shop for all of your cultural needs. They have a nice variety of beads, fabrics, oils, soaps and moisturizers. I picked up a half lb of pure shea butter which has many wonderful benefits. The staff is knowledgable and helpful and if they don’t have what you might be looking for, they sure can point you in the right direction.
They are located right on the inside of the International Marketplace in Greektown — directly across from the Casino door.

This place is magical, perhaps mostly because of the wonderful woman that works there. I could listen to her talk all day — about history, beads, and all sorts of other topics. I was actually there in the spring, so I’m not sure if she is still there. It is a delightful little shop regardless.
