Okay outstanding, topshelf brew! You want the best, it’s at Detroit Brewery. The staff is cool, they make and know their brew ! Outstanding honestly, I’ve been to them all, enjoyed and compared. The food has been consistently very good, from pizza, burgers, fish and half off appetizer 4pm to 6pm M-F, never had a bad meal. This is the place to get consistent great brew even at a reasonable price. Try the beer club and get 4oz extra brew with your mug, also free beer on your birthday so ask about it, I don’t work here not my job. They clear and clean the lines, tap and tanks, my opinion for what it’s worth it is «military style.» I worked hazmat and I know the real deal when it comes to cleaning stainless steel. If you want your brewery done right the first time, this is the place. Okay, me too, I complained its a bit slower pace when a few events are going. Lighten up and enjoy, it’s worth my wait, probably yours also. So the staff really does care, and will make you happy if you tell them how they can make your experience more enjoyable!

Terrible service. Had this white guy with dreads that forgot to ring in our beer order once and our food order right after that. We had some food that could be made on the fly such as the southwestern style salad(forgot the exact name) so that came out after he messed up. The waiter didnt really care all too much that he kept forgetting our stuff. I would be a lot nicer about it if it was a busy night but he only had my table(2 top) and a 4 top. Other than that the place was barren. Will not be back.

I’ve been here many of times and never a disappointment! The place is huge with 2 floors. I had the French Dip and it was amazing. The meat was so juicy and tender. The appetizer that is a MUSTTRY is the Blarney Stones. They are deep fried corned beef with melted cheese balls. They are so amazing with the Russian dressing like sauce. I would definetly give Detroit beer company a try. Hope this helps guys :)

I don’t think I’ve ever had food here before, but I do remember attempting it one time. Apparently, dinnertime before a Detroit Tigers game in midsummer is not the time to try to get a table for dinner! So this review is based upon my experience with service, atmosphere, and the beer. I’ve been here at least three times and I always enjoy the place. I really like the atmosphere and I’m so glad that Detroit has a place like this right downtown. I appreciate that they make their own beer on location and the wait staff is always friendly. My only issue is that I haven’t found a beer here that I love. I really want to, but it’s just not there for me yet. I love the style and décor of the place, perfect fit for a microbrewery in Detroit. I will go back here again and again for the reasons I mentioned above. I hope that maybe one they release a seasonal beer that I can really rave about. Oh yeah, and I’d like to try the food someday too.

My friend and I were staying at Aloft nearby and we went out in search of some pre-drinking grub. Detroit Beer Co was recommended to us so we headed over. It’s got a nice feel and the bartender was super friendly. I got wine and he definitely was generous with the pours. I got the Detroit Burger. Okay… I would say I am a bit of a tough critic. I was told that Paradise Pup in Chicago was the BEST burger in the whole world and I was really underwhelmed. So I didn’t really have high hopes for the burger. If it tasted about the same or better as McD’s, then I would be happy. Holy shit. That burger, insanely good! I would say one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. It was cooked perfectly, big patty, grilled well, the fat content was just right. The bun was toasted too so it was a homerun. The fries were awesome too. I didn’t try the beer but my friend said their IPA was great. I would definitely come eat here again.

Cute little pub. My burger and beer were DELICIOUS! But the service was pretty lackluster. The waitress was very sarcastic, borderline rude. She also made some really off-color remark/jokes. She never bothered to check and see if we needed refills of our drinks. I might return if I ever end up in Detroit again but if the service was the same it would be my last visit.

The Detroit Beer Company is a great place to hang out. The atmosphere is superb and the great beer keeps flowing. The décor features the raw wood and old 19th and early 20th Century Industrial feel that really makes for a cozy experience with your beer and friends. Their beer is great; I would definitely put it high on the list of small scale restaurant/brewery beers. I had the Dunkel, Stout, and Scotch Ale… all of which were great and rich flavored without relying heavily on hops to mask any wacky tastes. The service was also outstanding. I went with a very large group and the servers didn’t miss a beat. I never had an empty beer and the food came out blindingly fast. Huge props to the waitstaff and kitchen for their work. The one thing that stopped me from giving Detroit Brewing Company 5 stars, was the food. My burger was bland. It was juicy, and the toppings tasted great, but the meat tasted like nothing. It was disappointing given how much I enjoyed the rest of my experience, but it won’t stop me from returning and giving them a second shot. Overall, 5 star service, beer, and restaurant. The disappointing burger held them back, but I look forward to being able to give them a second chance.

The Detroit Beer Company(DBC) is our«home bar» in Detroit. We have been going there since they opened 13 years ago. It is very close to Comerica Park and Ford Field. There food is good(appetizers are ½ off during happy hour. 4 – 6 pm. They serve their own crafted beers, wine, and cocktails. The bartenders are quick and friendly.

I am not from the area but I figured I would give it a try. I got there version of a Bud Light and it was warm?! Then I ordered a Dagwood and they completely screwed my burger up. They went to remake it and they came out saying they made it right. They did not make it right the first time as I had 4 people check my sandwich before it went back to the kitchen. Lastly I ask to see a manager and she only takes off one beer for my troubles. Will not be going back to this place!

Absolutely loved this place! Will return for sure next time we are in town for a game. The food was amazing and the staff even better! Charlie and Mike were very personable and fun to hang at the bar with!

The Detroit Beer Company hosted my rehearsal dinner, and I have to say first of all, their staff were the most helpful, friendly, and accommodating people I’ve worked with in this process. They FaceTimed with us while we were in England so we could plan out our party in the space, and were an absolute dream to work with. We had the top floor, which is really a blank slate, so if you have an event here, you will want to bring in some décor. Our guests loved the chance to enjoy some local beer, and a pizza/pasta buffet. I ate here when I first visited to plan the event, and I did find the food to be good, average-good. One or two of the pizzas were really not my thing, but a few others were great, so I think it’s a bit hit-and-miss. But for a party, it worked great — casual, simple food provided in abundance to please a crowd. Very affordable for large groups — I think the buffet was 18.95 per person? And you can play your own music upstairs, turn the TVs on, and use a microphone which we did to give speeches. Taste the food and make sure you like it, but in terms of the space, the bar, the price, and the staff, your experience hosting an event here will be second-to-none.

I’m in town for business and a couple of us decided to head into the city to check it out. We did alot of walking around, saw some cool stuff and then needed to eat. We ended up inside this establishment and man were we glad we did. I had the shrimp po boy and it was easily one of the best I’ve had outside of the southern region. Everything was so fresh and the waffle fries were crispy and delicious. The other two I was with got a burger and one of the specialty pizzas. None of us left disappointed! We had a few beers. Both of them had the octoberfest and I had the hockey town German beer. Reminded me of a hoegarden but much better! If I didn’t have to be responsible I would have had 12 more. Our server, forgetting his name but he had dreadlocks, was awesome. Real cool funny guy. He definitely made the experience more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Menu was diverse enough to satisfy all cravings. Beer was absolutely delicious. Do yourself the favor. Go!

Slow service during dinner hours when it gets busy. One bar tender with a full house made me leave after 15 minutes of sitting at the bar waiting. Not even a menu or high just walking back and forth too busy to serve me. Luckily Detroit has many options for good craft beer!

Home made beers in a large but often packed setting in Downtown. Been here twice and always a good but not overwhelming choice of brews. Great stop before or after sports games as its in a prime location. If you’re looking for a good brew and a relaxed setting this is a great option.

It’s a nice location close to the stadiums, and the interior is fine. The house beers are very good, although not extensive. We didn’t get a drink list when we were seated. Ordered the broccoli and beef, without noodles, and asked if I could get extra broccoli instead. Server returned very fast and said the chef said no… When it finally came, there was maybe 2−3oz of beef, 3 – 5 small-medium broccoli florets, and a sauce that was kind of bitter. Not worth $ 15, especially not being able to sub beg for noodles. Water was not refilled a single time, no management table touch, and our server didn’t even check back to see how everything was. We had to get our own ketchup. The number of missteps was great. Definitely won’t come back.

My friends and I come here to grab a bite & drink before we head to the baseball game. Nice atmosphere, casual, and chill. Our waiter was Jordan, he is friendly and funny. Once the keg is gone its gone he says. They only have beers they brew. Today they have 7 different kinds of beer. I had the local 1529IPA beer. Taste orangey and has a bitter end. Malgoth Strong Ale is strong, sweet, and it sort of taste like wine. They also have full bar and wine as well. Food was okay. We leave happy and buzzed.

It saddens me to say that my many experiences at The Detroit Beer Company have been sub-par. Because it is one of the older breweries, I really want to like it… but there are some things that are just really irritating about this place. The service is terribly slow. I mean REALLY slow. I’ve sat downstairs, upstairs, at the bar… it seems to make no difference. They have a great location and outdoor seating, which is a plus, and their BEER is GREAT. So, GOFORBEER and MAYBE a snack. Maybe. The food is basic, but the Blarney Stones are pretty yummy, and their nachos, if they get to you hot, are decent nachos. I like their beer cheese soup, but it’s usually not hot enough by the time it reaches me. I hate that. I have to be honest and say that one time last year, 3 of us got sick after eating here. We all had different things, so I can’t say what it was… perhaps the silverware or dishes weren’t sanitized properly. Uh oh. All in all, every time I’ve visited, it was out of convenience, or the places around them were too packed. Every time I want to enjoy myself… but there are just far better options downtown now.

This place is exactly the type of restaurant you would expect out of a brewery. The advantage is, it is close to ford field and comerica park without being immediately in the vicinity so you have a prayer of getting in there before game days. Not easy at other locations. Parking to get here is tough, as street parking is hard to come by near that area. They do have outside seating which is a plus during the summertime. The beer itself is good, not great. I went there last weekend I had one of their porters, it had a malty body but a little to light bodied to satisfy a porter lover like me. I didn’t get a chance to try any other beer, but I have had a brown and a wheat beer they have made in the past year and they didn’t dazzle me. The food is your basic American food. If your looking for a burger, club sandwich, fries etc you won’t leave disappointed. I recommend their Cajun salmon and avocado sandwich. Get the waffle fries. Bottom line: great place before an event in Detroit with respectable American food and beer options.

Excellent service gives this place 4 stars for me. Seated and served promptly and pleasantly. Nice atmosphere, although maybe a few too many kids for a bar in my opinion. Food was pretty good. I had the beer cheese soup with the pretzel appetizer. The stone ground mustard was crazy spicy. I’ve had better beer cheese soup, but it was satisfactory. Husband had a huge salad that he said was fantastic. We tried the beer, and it was a little heavy for me, but not bad. Good stop before a Tigers game.

Solid meal! Came here for a friend b-day party. It was Monster Jam and Garth Brooks night, as well as an evening show at the Opera House. No reservations are taken on special events days. We had a party of 7 and came later to avoid waiting(8:45). Service was amazing, nothing more to say. Beer sample was very nice, I really liked the Belgian and Amber which was a red beer. It’s hard to recount all the food, I was pretty wasted lol. At the able we tried, and shared each others food. Appetizer: –Nachos: Solid –Blarney Stones(ruben balls w/russian dip) — AHMAZING! –Calamari: Strips from calamari steak, breaded and tender! –Pretzel w/stone ground mustard and asiago cheese dip: Stone ground mustard was insane! nice pretzel. –Asiago Cheese dip with tortilla chips: meh, very rich and thick, hard to eat as it cooled. Entrée /soups etc. –Beer Cheese Soup: YES! –Shepherd’s Pie: Too much cheese in this. –Fish Tacos: My entrée, delicious. Order this! –Dogwood Burger: Didn’t try, seemed to be a win from the three that had it. Unsure how burger patty quality was.

La bière est bonne, et le choix est important. Pour la nourriture, mieux vaut faire l’impasse…
