We stop here for lunch at work all the time. High praises for the catfish on bun; probably the best thing they have. New & clean facility, a little hard to find. Good service. Crab burgers are good here too, if you are a little less hungry. Prices are about average to, maybe a little high, but always worth it. You can usually get in & out in 30 minutes.

Alright so this isn’t a fancy establishment let’s be clear about that but if you’re hungover and want a burger it’ll do. Not like you have many options in destrehan besides this one you’ve got Burger King, McDonald’s, and if you don’t have little ones with you choose the sport pub. You can get a bigger burger and order a drink to really cure your hangover. If it’s root beer that your body’s craving head to frost top otherwise I’d head to the city to get a better burger.

The biggest problem I had was the burger was just mediocre. It wasn’t any better than a double quarter pounder from McDonald’s. The fries were God, but did not stand out either. The one thing that did stand out was the frosted mug filled with delicious root beer, but that alone is not enough to bring me back.

As far as burger places in Destrehan go, this is BY FAR your #1 choice. The food has always been very good & freshly made to order for us & the young staff working there is always so sweet. Delicious root beer & they’ll give you a frosty mug.

If I am ever in the mood for a good burger, a pile of awesome fries, and a malt or a root beer in a frosty mug, this is the place! I love the burgers, you cannot beat them anywhere.
It is clean, the service is consistent, and the food is always hot and fresh. They seem to be holding their own against the drive thrus in the area, I actually get out of my car for this place.
I especially like coming here in the evening once the younger crowd has passed. Try a milkshake or a malt, they are delicious.

I had the unpleasure of visiting this restaurant. All in all it was your usual run of the mill greasy fast food joint. The employees were the usual fast food workers, young preoccupied, and unconcerned with customer service.
The food was horrible, the burgers were full of mustard, although I specified light mustard, the fries were cold and disgusting!
I never, ever plan to return

Come on. Nobody has reviewed this place yet? Is Destrehan really that far off the beaten track?
My first review as an «Elite» Unilocal member writer reviewer critic. There must be a less dog-​like description than « Unilocaler».
Back to the business at hand, I was surprised to read in the TP several weeks ago that Frostop was/​is local institution and had been around for decades. I’ve driven by a couple of them regularly since I moved here and never had the urge to eat at one.
Coincidentally, I was dragged kicking and screaming to the Destrehan outlet for lunch about a week after the article in the paper. Kicking and screaming might be an exaggeration. They were driving and buying — it was the best offer I had that day. I’ve since been there a second time of my own free will, so, obviously, it can’t be that bad.
No pretensions of grandeur here. A functional box with a grill, table, chairs and condiments. Clean, dated, worn décor. I was trying to place the style — how about this — a bad seventies rendition of a 50’s sock-​hop kind of thing.
Decent cheap hamburger meal, good fries and, as I understand it, world famous frosty root beer. Not in the same league as any of the local gourmet burger places but fast, cheap and definitely NOT MacDonald’s. I’ve also had the sausage burger which was edible. They do a big lunch business quickly and efficiently. Get in line, order your food and wait for them to call your number. It was $ 7 even for the «Lot A Burger» meal.
Not a first date kind of place, I’m not sure how this chain has lasted for decades, but I would go back for lunch.
