Sky Valley Resort and Caliente Springs Resort began with a dream of building something beautiful. It all started in 1970 when a young man named Tim Manthei came to Coachella Valley with a vision. He wanted to offer a fun and relaxing place for people to utilize the natural hot springs and desert surroundings. That all came true with a small loan from his mother and his drive to succeed. Currently, his family owns and operates three resorts have to offer.

Sky Valley Resort (SVR) has an excellent staff, an on property medical response team second to none, guest activity programs, etc. Why the rating of only 1? Shame on SVR management for selling ($ 10) WiFi code to access WiFi. If SVR management surveyed guests or tested their own WiFi system from ANY on property site, they would learn the percentage of WiFi accessibility is less than %10. Guests have two options for computer connectivity when staying at SVR…)1 Drive to DHS for Free McDonalds — WiFi service is great!)2 contact Time Warner (DHS) and for $ 30, reliable service is reality. In today’s digital age, it’s vital to have access to Medical information, utility bills, etc. via the Internet. There are many Resorts in Desert Hot Springs with free internet service. For the price SVR imposes, it should include quality Internet connectivity.

Dirty. No showers. snowbirds theatening. NOT SAFE. Teen boys in Womens filthy showers. Mangement, Seth, unconcerned. Not a place for relaxation, retiring, NOTHING!!!

The previous reviews appear to be before the renovations and new chef. The food, for the most part, is very good. This chef, however, needs to learn how to make meatballs. My friend ordered them and they could be used in a hockey game. The ribs are excellent, the prime rib is good. The avocado/​lime pie is out of this world! The eggplant in the eggplant Parmesan was either over or undercooked… tough. When you need a steak knife to cut it, it’s not cooked correctly. The sauce, however was tasty! We will return to try other meals as this place has potential.

Just ok for me because I’m not really old. AT&T didn’t work at all. Wifi was poor. The pools were nice as was the park itself. If you dont need wifi and you’re not on AT&T then I would recommend this park.

Stayed here recently and I love it. The waters are soothing and warm, a great respite after a long drive. Staff and other patrons are warm and friendly. This place is a great getaway at an affordable and reasonable price. They have a café named «Mignon’s» that serves up tasty food for when you finish with your soak/​swim, so our appetites were ready.

Palm Desert, CA
Great place to escape in the desert and the owners and staff are of high integrity with great attitudes! They even have a chaplain on site, Pastor Walt East, who ministers to the enitre community. The grounds are kept very clean and the pools are awesome. They have meeting rooms and very good dining as well thanks to Chef Minon and his crew! We were there for a marriage retreat with our church and it was a great location for hosting the event!

It was a real pleasure speaking to Gayle in the reservations office. Gayle was pleasant and went out of her way to arrange a site for our our Thanksgiving holiday with my dad. I’m not as fond of the desert as I am the ocean or mountains but staying at Sky Valley Resort makes going to the desert easier. The residents are always friendly, there are a number of pools to choose from, a Sunday chapel, activities over the weekends, concerts, a restaurant and it’s kid friendly! Looking forward to my stay.

Another wonderful weekend at Sky Valley. The entire time I am here I want to buy a unit and move in. The pools are sparkling clean with a variety of temps. One of the larger pools literally feels like a bath tub, I can stay in there for an hour, stretching, moving, and flexing every muscle in my body — it is truly healing. My man enjoys the lobster pot (a very warm jacuzzi). And amazingly, we are always the only people using the pools, occasionally someone walks by but it is extremely peaceful and relaxing. My body, soul, and mind feel rejuvenated after a couple days in this paradise.
To our great surprise we found the New restaurant: Mignon’s. What a wonderful addition to this park. A gourmet chef right here on site, we ate all three of our meals this weekend at Mignon’s. Everything was absolutely delicious, what a gem. Excellent rib eye steak dinner, country fried steak, avocado key lime pie, all extremely fresh from scratch. And his wife’s baked items — amazing… Especially the banana cake and cheesecake.

AMAZING resort. We stayed in a modular home overlooking the pond and mountains and just had a lovely time. The different mineral pools/​hot tubs were great to try out, the café at the pool had great food, the location was good (30 minutes to Palm Springs, 1 hour to Joshua Tree, one or two businesses around the area), and there were other facilities too that we didn’t have a chance to use (tennis courts, and I still didn’t figure out what pickle ball is).
Just know this will be somewhat of an «unplugged» experience — almost no service if you have tmobile for miles around the resort.
My only other complaint is that we had to leave :(

What a gem! If you are in the area this is must stop. You don’t have to be staying at the resort, the café is open to the public. All food is good, but the Mexican food is primo. Friendly service.

We had a wonderful stay over New Years Eve this year. Check in was great and the staff was awesome. Hot pools were very nice and the whole resort was very well kept. The staff is great!

I rented a park model for 3 nights! This was the most peaceful place I have ever been to. There is SO much to do. Everyone was so happy to be there!
The mineral spas & pools cannot be described. I haven’t slept that well in weeks. Wonderful place to decompress my body!
One fantastic surprise was at the Café! The soup rocks! One of the best homemade soups I have had in awhile! Can’t wait to go back!

If you are staying in or around Sky Valley, the Sky Valley Café is definitely worth a visit. Their food is freshly prepared and delicious. I agree, the Mexican food is very good. Ruben gave us friendly service.
