(TV, WIFI doesn’t work, DISGUSTING, DANGEROUS, and RUDE people)
The place doesn’t TV working, No restaurant or bar because they are close for «renovations» (probably for years).
We got our room and came back at midnight and couldn’t open the door, nobody was at the front desk, even the security guy couldn’t open it with his keys. We waited 1 hour outside, until he opens it. How? By climbing from the room’s balcony because YES he could and the windows don’t even lock!!!
The next morning I ask to see the manager to complain about all of it and she was too busy to see me but got my informations and said they will call me back and give me a discount.
Not only they never called me but I try to call them over 10 times and nobody answered, and OF course their voicemail is full.
Also the Wifi doesn’t work, and the pool is so dirty that it might have a lot of mineral but I would never even touch the water.
Honestly stay away from this place you can find better in the area for the same price, its just dangerous to leave your personal items in this place, and the staff is just not professional and rude

Great place to come and relax and over all just have fun i come almost every weekend, staff are kind, plenty help around. This is a do it yourself resort, no limitations. Rooms are big, AC blows cold, nice view over Coachella Valley and surrounding mountains. Palm Springs is next city over. Come down and enjoy it!

If you are into mineral pool soaking this is the place to be if you are looking for budget economy as other places are more. Clean room and place with the amenities of bbq, refridgerator, kitchen. Nice and relaxing. Bring your own ice walking distance to 7 Eleven. Thai food near by was OK too. Front desk lady was nice enough to allow for early check-​in and motivated me to write the review.

We read other Unilocal reviews and thought this place was good to stay at for Coachella weekend, but unfortunately we were wrong!
This place is disgusting and nothing works!
They messed up our reservation due to them overbooking and upgraded us to a «better» room.
Our room was nasty, the carpet had not been vacuumed, the tv didn’t work (we only got 3 channels), it was dusty, the alarm clock didn’t work and it smelled bad. We had 2 full size beds and they weren’t comfortable at all. If the room was dirty, what makes you think the beds were clean, let alone the bathroom or the little kitchen area. I had my boyfriend buy Febreeze just so I felt okay to be in the room.
We had to tell them to clean our room, because they forgot to clean our room the next day.
Also, the elevator doesn’t work, so beware your going to be pulling your luggage up the stairs. Last thing, the whole hotel is under construction so it looks empty and kinda odd. The only good thing is the price of the hotel.
Overall, if your here for Coachella or just on vacation go somewhere else!

We had a great mini vacation at Hyundae Resort and Spa.
Great management, service, was very clean, reasonable price.
The mineral Water was deliciously warm and silky. It was pretty weather.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend a room with kitchen and balcony.
Pretty nice Chinese ristorante around the corner. We like the menus and the price.

Still suffering from bed bug bites from a two night stay over. No phone in the room. Reported only one out of four bulbs in the bathroom and broken desk chair which was ignored and never addressed. Locked out one night and had to wait for security to let us in; get to room and locked out of that; had to go back down and search for security guard to let us in our room. Management has chosen to ignore this hotel and it’s upkeep, or lack of, is evident. No manager available when checking out when I reported the bed bug bites, yikes, they itch and hurt and are even on my face. Do not stay here.

— our room wasn’t cleaned until 5 days later during our stay, after I asked them twice to clean our room. I asked for bathroom towels, and they didn’t have any, until the next night when I went back again and asked for towels and a rug. I had to throw out the garbage myself because it hadn’t been cleaned in 5 days. So we got to stay in a clean room for the last day of our stay. Just in time for us to leave.

— inconveniently designed. There’s no way to get to the parking lot unless you go through the front door. This is inconvenient when your room is closer to the parking lot and you’re carrying heavy bags everytime you come in and out. Why are you carrying heavy bags? Because there’s no safe inside the room, and you don’t want your sh*t stolen.
— elevator looks like it’s about to stop working any minute.
— really slow wifi. Not that anyone should work on vacation, but if you have to for even just 10 minutes, that 10 minutes will turn into an hour.
This was the worst hotel we’ve ever been to. The front desk was really nice though. Too bad this hotel is not maintained. Even if it’s on the cheaper side and things look old, we still expect basic hotel standards, like a room that gets cleaned every day, having clean bathroom towels, having the trash thrown out. We didn’t even ask for new sheets. We just wanted the most basic hotel services. Like not having dirty water leak on you in the bathroom. We definitely learned our lesson. Not coming back here, and we’re spending more money on hotels next time.

I’m being very honest when I say this is not a hotel you should bring your family, wife, or GF. This is a lower level hotel than motel 6, motel 8, red roof inn, or any other low level hotel chain. I’ve been here two nights bc the price was right during the Indian wells event. It’s worth less than motel 6 per night, but I would not pay more. In the 2 nights, they have not cleaned the room which makes me feel better so someone does not steal my bag or clothes. I have the hotel 2 stars bc of price and bc I did not go in the pool which might be ok.

I would give 4 stars, because the staff don’t do their work at all, that don’t care about customers and about property ether! The hotel is good, with a swimming pool and jacuzzis, nice rooms, clean. But the restaurant-​bar didn’t work, not enough light, elevator didn’t work. The price is not expensive for this place.

Oh where to start?
I chose this funny hotel based on some good reviews. My fiancé and I like to explore small towns and don’t mind staying in hotels/​motels that most people would find unappealing. I think there are a lot of nice places that get overlooked just because they are not a brand name hotel. Sometimes, the dodgiest places have the most character and the friendliest staff.
This is not really the case for the Hyundae Resort. It could be, but it’s done all wrong. I see so much potential here– they could totally play up the boulder rocks and hot springs theme and make this a kitschy, family-​friendly resort on a budget. However, nothing really seems to be maintained. The bed in our room desperately needed to be replaced. We weirdly had two fridges, only one worked… and the same thing with sinks! Two sinks, only one functions. I don’t understand who thought it would be acceptable for guests to have things in their room that don’t work.
And the staff were not helpful either. One of my greatest pet peeves while staying at a hotel is when the Check-​in person gives you keys but does not instruct you on how to get to the room. I never even got eye contact. Everyone seemed to be avoiding us. This is so frustrating because it actually was not obvious how to get to the room… so they just let us run around confused. Not cool!
Such a shame for a property with some potential. Just seems like they have lazy employees and management.

I was assigned to a room… I was given a card key to a room… and when I opened the door to the room with the attendant present… there were people already in the room …(Not sure how this is possible) but it happened …
I was lead around by a caretaker (Supposedly Security ?) …spoke very little english… with a flash light… because there was no lighting… we wound up almost 360 degrees from where we started… to me… he was not familiar with the layout…
One room we went by… had the curtains open… had make shift beds on the floor… they were clearly over the limit for the number of occupants… for that room…7₁₀ people

The air SMELLED of Marijuana …
The second room… they assigned to me… had no air-​conditioning no TV and the shower head was broken …
I could not and would not stay there… I was there for less than an hour…
It was a compound on lockdown …
SORRY …the people there were trying to be help… CLEARLY to me… the over all condition was unacceptable on any level… and if you are going to be in business the first obligation you have is to be a safe operation… By there own admission it was not safe …

When I went back and read the reviews… to my astonishment… there was another review that mirrored my review… another person open a door where the room was already booked… Amazing how this could have happen… how does multiple cards open one room ?

This hotel has horrible customer service. The rooms are cold and outdated. The plumbing was bad. The tub was clogged up and the shower head was broken. We have left several messages for the manager to contact us and they never did. Additionally we were concerned about privacy issues because they took a copy of our credit card and drivers license and that is outdated policy. We ended up Staying at the motel 6 down the street and had a better stay.

First, the man we spoke to at the desk basically did not speak English. We were told we did not have a reservation when we actually did, and had to convince him that we needed two beds instead of one. We were charged more than we agreed to on
, and could not ask why seeing as we could not communicate with him. The elevator does not work, so we carried luggage up two flights of stairs. Then we were told to go to room 331, but when we opened the door, there was a couple sitting inside the room. We got a new room, and settled in, but it smelled funky, some of the pillows were missing their pillow cases, the tv was extremely outdated and had a fuzzy picture, the thin blankets we were given had either cigarette burns or bullet holes in them (we couldn’t tell exactly), and the mattresses themselves were very uncomfortable. Sometime in the middle of the night, we hear a knocking on the door only to find that the manager was outside with two guests and could not remember that there were already people in this room as he was trying to find them a place to stay. Finally, I was bit in the middle of the night (in winter) by some kind of bug. Other than that, a completely delightful visit. This place is so badly run, it’s a surprise to me that it is still in business at all.

Silica, Calcium, Magnesium, Chloride, Fluoride. What’s with the long list of «Fountain of Youth» minerals as a selling point for so many spas in the Desert Hot Springs area? While trying to narrow down my online search for the ultimate spa, I thought it was even more strange that there was one with a Korean name. It was too good to be true? A luxury Korean spa in the middle of nowhere? Hyundae Resort & Spa includes the mineral spa package with the overnight stay, or $ 15 for a day pass. «Hyundae» in Korean means «modern.» But after my visit here, I realized that this probably was true only at the time it was built, decades ago. Today, it is a decent, clean, country-​bumpkin spa with a unique Flinstones-​like theme. I AM RATING ONLY THE SPA, NOT THE ROOMS. I gave four stars because of a fatal design flaw in the men’s section, no rinse-​off shower in the pool area, and a lack of other basic amenities that any establishment calling itself a «Resort & Spa» would have.
The men’s section is basically one short hallway with a variety of amenities compressed together on each side.
On my first step inside, there were six lockers to the left and a bench on the right. Usually at all spas, there’s a built-​in design to hide nudity from anyone walking by the entrance as people go in and out. Over here there is nothing! If another person walks in while I’m changing, everyone outside can see my trifecta super parts! Personally, social nudism is not a big deal, but to many it would be a problem. FAIL.
What was left of the men’s section (dry sauna, steam room, shower) was plain-​but-​not-​bad, like a McDonald’s hamburger.
The multi-​story resort structure surrounds the outdoor mineral spa area on all four sides, with the rooms facing in. Accented by artificial waterfalls, artificial boulders, nice green shrubbery and a small army of budget-​outdoor furniture were one large pool and two smaller ones: cool, warm and hot temperatures, respectively.
I started at the warm pool, which was barely on the warm side. Since this was my first time at a mineral spa, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the mineral water. If I didn’t know it was «magical» mineral water in advance, I’m not sure I would have known the difference. The water seemed silky and soft, but with all the hype, I was hoping that the water would start glittering the moment I stepped in and my skin would start glowing! I silently waited for the effects to take place. Nothing. Maybe I have to wait a little longer… While I was waiting for the transformation, I looked up on an upper floor walkway where the rooms were and saw the housekeeping lady parked with a supermarket shopping cart loaded up with towels and all her other necessities, pure wire cage and all! This was a first! The Resort must have gangstered the local supermarket for a cart.
The large pool is covered by a huge canopy for shade and the temperature was a very gentle cool. It was nice. I waddled around for a while, still waiting for my skin to start glowing…
A gazebo houses the hot pool, but the temperature is more warm than hot. There is a bubble system, but the bubbles only come from a small section of the inner wall. It was funny to see those bubbles hopelessly struggling to saturate the entire volume of the pool. It was here somehow that my twisted logic kicked in, and I thought, «If the water was so good for the skin, why not drink it directly? What’s the worst that could happen?», so I cupped a small handful and took a sip. I know it also comes with body sweat, remnants of urine and feces. Ewww right? But the water actually tasted ok. By the way, I did not find a complimentary drinking water dispenser anywhere on the premises; I had to settle with a vending machine.
At some point before the end of my pool rotation, I also noticed that there was no rinse-​off shower in the outdoor area. So this begs the question. Before going to the pools, do people take a shower in their rooms, then walk over? Or do they walk to the gendered locker rooms and take a shower first? How about those that basked in the sun for a couple hours and eventually went back in? Realistically, most people probably do not take a shower before entering the pools. Yet another flawed design element.
So I ended up at Hyundae Resort & Spa because I wanted to explore the outer universe of spas while getting out of the city for a little bit. Yes, my soul «felt» refreshed, skin «felt» younger. But even if the water does nothing to aid my physical health, it certainly has a Sugar Pill Effect, and being away from home certainly enhances the experience.
It always amazes me how places in the middle of nowhere survive, and it must be particularly brutal for a luxury business like a resort & spa. And maybe I’m wrong? Maybe somehow Hyundae Resort & Spa, while it appears and feels old, actually lives up to its name, and will continue to touch the skin, and psyche, of people from distant places…

Clean and nice rooms compares to the price.
Grills and pools and nice mood.
Very recommandable for your weekend.

Life Savers and peaceful retreat! That is what this hotel is for me.
After booking a 3 bedroom house with a pool on Air B&B. The owners accidentally locked one of the locks he wasn’t suppose to. So my sister, my kids and I were locked out in the middle of the night after STAGECOACH. The property was big so it was kind of creepy. We called the owners like 40 times, no answer! So after 30 to 45 minutes I pulled out my Unilocal app to find hotels in the area. We called multiple places, some said to call back in the morning to inquire wth? Luckily a nice man answered at Hyundae and said they had a room available for us just 3 minutes from where we were at. Yay!
We got a cute room with a king size bed that also had a chaise, fridge and microwave in it. Yay. The room was clean, dated but classy and big. I was so grateful they were able to accommodate us. As I didn’t want to call my other friends and have to squish our family in their room.
So the next morning we checked out and went to the house. The house was nice also dated, great pool, BBQ area, giant Buddha statue by the pool, great view but there was a jacuzzi on the side of the living room with no cover. It was an opened space so there was no way for me to block it off from my 1 year old. And as I feared the first thing my baby did was run into it. Way to dangerous for a toddler. Great for a group of friends to party.
Needless to say I cut my losses and came back to this hotel. The owner remembered us just checking out and offered a discount after explaining our incident, and was also able to accommodate us with a room on the first floor and closer to the entrance for safety reasons. The new room we checked into had an apt size refrigerator! So awesome! The only downside I guess for others would be that they do not have a phone in the room or hair dryer. They do however have an LCD TV, refrigerator, mocrowave, pool table in lobby, free wifi, complementary guest parking, spa rooms separate for men and women, you can even book massages at the fron desk since the masseurs was an outcall, heated outdoor pool with a canopy to block the sun, out door jacuzzi as well as an enclosed jacuzzi outside, Gate around the pool and a little play area by the pool for toddlers. The out door pool area, outdoor entrance, and lobby looks like rocky and cave like with waterfalls flowing around the pool which was very serene.
During our stay there were other festival goers and many families. We were able to enjoy the pool, spa and jacuzzi before the event each day, we even opted for another day to relax and swim after the event. all the staff here are super friendly. And our rates lowered with each night stay.
This place is under new ownership with plans for expansion and some parts of the hotel under construction still. I can’t wait to see the improvements they’ve made. I definitely recommend this place and would love to come here again. My sister asked if we can go back just to shower there and swim because their mineral water was so soft it made our skin and hair feel silky smooth. The water that runs through this Mineral WATER, it’s like heaven to our skin. We actually plan on bringing my parents here just to relax.
If you’re looking for somewhere serene this is the place for you. If you’re looking for the Hilton, modern, or trendy this isn’t it.

A group of friends booked this hotel for Coachella this year and found that it met our expectations at this price point. The beds were very firm, which is a plus for me. Water pressure was strong and the hot water was plentiful. The staff was friendly. It was an excellent choice for our purposes of sleeping and showering and heading out for long days.
This place is a great value if you are in the area for an event or to see the sights, I wouldn’t consider it a destination in itself. I think the property does itself a disservice calling itself a «resort and spa» since it appears to be neither.
I think they would benefit greatly from being spruced up a smidge and marketed as a kitschy boutique hotel. I wish the loungey cave room on the 2^nd floor was functional! We walked through it to/​from our room every day and thought it must’ve been a fun spot in the hotel’s hayday.
We would definitely book again for this festival and wish them well in their remodel! :)

We’ve stayed here twice in the last couple months and had wonderful stays. There is one huge reason we come to DHS, the mineral water. It is so smooth and soothing to the skin. The pools are kept very clean. I really like the palm frond cover over one of the jacuzzis.
It seems they add chlorine to the pools here on thursday morning. We will avoid coming on thursday-​friday. By Saturday night it was much better, but the very best water experience was tuesday-​wednesday.
Second to the water is the lovely greenery and landscaping. Obviously this is a family owned property and someone takes great pride in gardening. The building surrounds the pool area so it feels secluded, and separates you from the wind and the surrounding neighborhood of Desert Hot Springs. There are a few waterfalls and the sound of the water is great. Drowns out voices and pump room noises. So nice.
I’m guessing we got some of the nicer rooms. Lower level. We looked at a 2^nd story room before checking in this time, but it was not as nice. Dark and had a strong perfumy smell. The rooms we stayed in were bright, clean, and comfortable. No odor. Not trendy or fancy but fine! Everything worked. Great water pressure.
If you are looking for a 5-​star hotel experience, there are plenty of great resorts and hotels in PS, and indeed, better ones even in DHS, if that’s what you want. But the nice pools, landscape, and comfy, clean rooms here are worth $ 70 — $ 100. I wouldn’t pay much more than $ 100.00/night to stay here but it is excellent for the price we did pay.
It looks like they are finishing up the 2^nd story bar/​nightclub/​restaurant? and it looks really cool. How fun would it be to sit on the balcony and have a few drinks with music, overlooking the pool. Although, I am not so sure I would enjoy this hotel as much if it were filled with the partying crowd… now it is filled mostly with nice older foreigners and families. Not too many kids, especially during the week. I like the peacefulness. I will recommend Hyundae to my not-​hotel-​snob friends.

I prefer a newer environment, however, don’t discount this place because you should really come here for the water. This place has Natural mineral hot water. It feels silky soft.
People come here to soak. Lots of mature Asian families and the kids that were here were and well behaved. My doctor advised me to soak my ankle injury so that’s what I’m doing. It was a last minute booking and our fav’s were full so, sometimes you gotta try what’s available.
I read some scary reviews and driving up it looked like a bad imitation of the Matterhorn that had been abandoned. Once inside we were greeted warmly and enthusiastically. It’s a good sized property with 3 floors facing the interior courtyard. There’s an enormous shade over the main pool a semi-​enclosed hot tub and an outside very hot tub. Clean blue towels are provided poolside.
It’s definitely a work in progress and hopefully they will continue to renovate and improve. The rooms are seriously dated. I kept telling myself I’m here to soak. They got the water and that’s the most important thing.

This was the creepiest motel I’ve ever seen. Worst than a cheap motel in Tijuana. Creepy like the Bates Motel. Only one entrance in to the motel. The rooms were terribly outdated. When you look out the window of your balcony, it looks like a ghetto (old, cracked concert, graffiti, run down neighborhood). This is definitely NOT A RESORT/​SPA. The pool was old. Floors needed vacuuming. Caution Tape roped off a haunted looking room that had thick dust over all the furniture. Oh, the smell within the walls is just foul and old. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place should be sanctioned and shut down. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE
