Established in 1980.

MB Automotive began in 1980 as Manna Brothers Auto Service. The business relocated to its current location in 1993 and became known as MB Automotive Inc.

Business Owner

Scot has owned the business since 1993 and continues to be involved in the day to day operation of business activities. Scot is a Triple Master Certified ASE Technician holding Advanced level certification in Gas and Diesel engines. Scot is a nationally recognized automotive trainer and holds classes throughout the Midwest on emissions repairs and high tech diagnostic procedures. Scot has been a State of Illinois trainer since 2005 and has taught at several local Community Colleges. Scot keeps his skills sharp by performing diagnostics and repairs everyday in the shop.

Scot, Lorrie and Ed are great. We have four different cars we take to them.
My dad used to build cars so he can tell who is legit and who isn’t. I took an auto class as well but most auto places try to take advantage of me being a young unmarried woman even though I have a decent base knowledge of cars.
They have a solid amount of business but can usually take us same day if it isn’t a large job. If they do need to keep the car Lorrie has dropped me off at home since I don’t live too far. It’s hard to find people in the automotive industry you can trust, but we do trust MB.
Recently I got in an accident and had to take my car to a body shop near the accident the insurance approved. $ 7,000 plus and the car isn’t much better off than when I dropped it off. I figured something was off with the steering and it was making a weird grinding noise, Scot took it around for a complimentary test drive and confirmed that and more. He wrote up a report of the issues that I can give to the insurance company. Helped me out a lot!

My family and I have been taking our cars to M & B for many years. They have good mechanics and seem to work as a team. One time they fixed a fuel injector on our car and 3 months later it had the same problem. We brought the car back in, they tested it and replaced the part again at no-​charge. I do not trust many auto repair places but I do trust the people at M & B.

Meh!
If you want to go someplace that will piss you off, on top of being pissed off about your car, this is the place! (yea run on sentence and all)
My experience here has been limited. They are extremely slow. For example. I wandered in there this morning to get a headlight put in my car. There was one person ahead of me. He was having his transmission looked at. I am not lying. He explained his problem 4 or 5 times to this guy. (and who knows how many times he explained himself before I got there) The guy behind the counter did not look up at me, say I will be with you in a sec or anything. I was there roughly 15 min (13 to be exact) And then I just left. It didn’t give me a good first impression at all
