Feldco is very expensive but the quality and work is top notch. We were told a crew would come out to install our screen doors and it would take a few hours to do the job. One guy installed both doors and took almost 8 hours to do so. It wasn’t his fault, he should have had help.

Don’t ever use Feldco Windows!! this company is the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with, tried screw me on the financing, 45min to 1hr late the 3 times they came out, an they outsource there installers when they said they are Feldco employees — with Jen Marie in Brookfield, Illinois.

Called for an estimate on replacing 4 windows, I always get three estimates before committing to contract. The Representative refused to give me an estimate because my wife wasn’t home wanted a commitment today that is not a good business practice, as far as i am concerned they lost a sale

My wife and I hired Feldco to replace all of our windows on the lower level with the thought that if they did a good job and we liked the windows we would hire them the following year to install the windows on the second level. We thought they did a good job and liked the windows. So, we hired them again and planed to hire them the third year to replace two doors. After that we were going to have them replace a few speciality windows the following year. However, they did such a poor job on the front door we had to have them out twice to fix it. They eventually did but their customer service was so awful we told them to forget installing the speciality windows. They could care less and went on to their next sale. Now I tell my friends that I wouldn’t hire them to put in windows in my doghouse.

Great experience; I love my beautiful, new windows!!! Very pleased with Feldco.

Missed a half day of work and did not get notified that the measure tech would be late. They made up for the missed measuring and the windows are great. I just wished I didn’t have to have missed work.

Wow, what a wonderful experience gone wrong. We are in the beginning stages of a major renovation project and simply getting all of our quotes in a row to finalize the budget. However, that really wasn’t supposed to be the case in terms of windows portion because of a past experience with Feldco that motivated us to not shop around and stick to what we knew — from a product and service standpoint, but not necessarily being dismissive of the costs. From making the first phone call 6 weeks ago to having them set up an appointment after our closing, things seemed to be in line with our positive memory from the last time we purchased from them for our condo — in 2007.
To further accommodate our needs, they were even able to reschedule and push our appointment up from the originally scheduled time/​day. All pluses from that point. «Joe,» our sales representative, came by and was 210% pleasant. He was vocal, very confident in the product/​services/​overall company and went through the whole presentation — like we remembered when we bought 9 years ago. We just happened to inquire about Feldco at the same time the lucrative «Buy One Get One Free» window promotion was going on. At the end of the measuring and consultation, «Joe» presented his price: Retail, less promotional discount, less an additional 3% from the factory, less 2% for posting a Feldco sign in our front yard for 2 weeks after installation, and then finally an additional 3% for cash deal. The Net was roughly $ 13K for rebuilding of new frames in all of the rooms, across 20 windows. Good price? Of course. A decision to be made on the spot? Absolutely not.
After my wife and I decided we need a few days to think about this, I told «Joe» and his demeanor changed dramatically. He questioned why, asked if we were shopping his quote against another provider, and what could do to make us ink the deal in that day. In all honestly, if there was something else he could do then why sell me on «this is the bottom line» when clearly there is more to play with when I haven’t insinuated that this is even a bad price — yet a significant amount of money to agree on spending without thoroughly analyzing our expenses for the renovation? Well, unfortunately for «Joe,» I wasn’t going to let him spend my money for me. I think the approach from the beginning was great, but once he realized that he wasn’t dealing with a lay down and closing $ 13K over the course of 3.5hrs his true colors showed. «Joe» suggested everything from doing some of the windows now and lock in the pricing for the balance for 12 months to financing for no money down and no payment for 12 months. I think what he failed to do was understand that we needed time to agree on that amount, which wasn’t going to happen today. I called Feldco for an estimate, not a hard sell on closing the deal today. I’m pretty disappointed in the entire situation and surely not using/​referring Feldco to anyone in the near or distant future.

— spoke with the sales manager, Tony, to discuss the matter and he was very apologetic. I appreciate the gesture and I’m certainly impressed with the professionalism, which goes a long way.

Had Feldco install 5 windows last month. My dining room windows are beautiful and I am glad that I got them done. The only problem is a noticed a small sticky/​glue thing on the inside of a window today. I will call them and ask them to correct it.

Feldco rectified the situation and reinstalled the bay window with the colonial grids as we originally requested/​expected. The charm of our house is back and looks so much better. I am upgrading the rating to 3 stars given their prompt response in resolving the issue. thank you.

If I could give a zero, I would. We had a houseful of windows installed a few years ago, and most of them are okay. Our problems stem with a large bow window we had put into our daughters room so that she could have a window seat. The trouble is that they did not caulk the windows correctly or something, her room is freezing all of the winter, and boiling all summer, and the mold growing over the inside has to be scraped and bleached several times a year. Neither crank handle stays on, and every time we have had Feldco out, we are charged a service fee and told that this is just a problem that bow windows have. I don’t even know what to do about it anymore, we just live with it and keep scraping. Our other bow window has no problems whatsoever like this, so I’m sure the servicemen would rather do nothing than something.

I had a service issue with Feldco but they handled it in a timely manner once it was presented to management. Generally it was a broken lock covered under warranty, but repair parts were not kept in stock so they were available in a timely manner.
Even though the issue should not have occurred in the first place, the solution provided was acceptable.

My parents (both seniors) had all the windows for the first floor installed by Feldco several years ago. After the first year, while cleaning the windows, they discovered that none of the windows actually lock. They called to have them looked at, which was done for free, and the serviceman claimed they were locked when he left — but they weren’t — he just flipped the sliders the other direction. It’s not like they fall down or anything, and it was such a hassle to get them out the first time, we let it go.
Not the end of the world, until two years ago, we noticed the kitchen window had slid down out of alignment and had an inch gap at the top. The whole panel is offline and it won’t close let alone lock. We sealed over the whole window for last winter to keep the cold wind out, and called this week to have it fixed pre this year’s winter storms. We were told that although the «parts» have a lifetime warranty it will cost $ 49 up front, over the phone, to schedule someone to come out, and then $ 89 after the visit for the labor. If there are parts that need replacing, the parts are free, but we will have to pay for labor and service if that’s the case.
I tried calling both our local service department as well as the customer service line who are not helpful at all when I mention that the issue is not with a part, but with the way they were installed, given the locks don’t align and now one of our windows won’t even close. Each time I was told that they are more than happy to send someone out to look at it… as long as I will give them my credit card to pay up front. I could understand the fee if there was honestly something wrong with «a part,» but the thousands of dollars spent on installation should cover the not-​installed-​correctly part.
Given the poor customer service handling over the phone, we looked them up on Better Business Bureau to sadly see that they spent thousands of dollars on replacement windows with a company that has an F rating with the BBB for bad products and service, among other things including bate and switch claims (

So disheartened to see that my parents were (and are still) being taken advantage of in this way by a company that has billboards, ads and signs plastered all over the Chicagoland area. This was a pricey installation for two retirees who were just looking for a simple window installation that they wouldn’t have to still be paying for in service and repairs.
I am not sure how to resolve this situation other than paying more money for someone to come out and do another poor-​quality service repair on a window that wasn’t installed properly in the first place.
Do your research first folks.

Windows fine. Patio doors seem to be beyond their level of expertise.
So I just had the 3^rd installer leave my house without a patio door lock installed properly.
Installer forgot the lock when the door was installed. They came back the next day and the lock part he brought didn’t fit or broke. They were out of stock and was 3 weeks until someone came back. The guy just left my house and guess what the job is still not done.
Someone is supposed to come tomorrow to finally get it done, but have little to no faith. This will be the 4^th time someone will have come finish this install.
I have demanded my second payment back until the job is actually done. We will see.
Turns out 4^th time is the trick. Sent a guy that actually knew what he was doing. Took 5 minutes to fix.
Still would be very careful when dealing with this company. DO NOT PAY the bill until the job is complete. Very bad service.

Feldco is ran by a bunch of crooks. The installers only get paid 60 a window and so they feel the pressure to rush the job and the employees are treated poorly as well. We had 7 windows replaced 3 years ago and they all stink like mold. We have mold in our walks from the faulty window jams not draining water, due to the warping plastic jams. The crappy caulking job they did barely lasted a year which is also contributing to the mold.
Then last year we ordered special air conditioner windows last year in which they installed haphazardly not to mention the wrong ones were ordered at first. It took them 3 months to come out with the correct sashes. Now we have a full large window pane that has a chamber leak and is forging up on the inside. We’ve been calling Feldco and Jim Haffer our contact for months with no call back. The entire job Feldco was awarded as a whole for our building was over a 100 windows and you would think they would support them at that size of a job.
Buyer beware with this company as they are not out to serve just out to push product out the door and then leave the customer hanging.

We have had our entire first floor of windows replaced by Feldco a few years ago, so 8 in total. When we were in need of replacement windows upstairs and a new front door, we called Feldco because of our positive experience.
This time around was completely different. First our in home estimate was rescheduled twice, pushing the appointment back by ten days. We had a different salesman come in than the one we requested and was confirmed for our appointment. We signed the contract on April 4 and up until last week, May 15, we were still told that both the master bedroom window and door were not ready for installation, with the front door still being made.
At this point I had been calling our salesman at least every week. The last time we spoke I told him how frustrating the experience had been. He told me he would get back to me and then, ten minutes later, the installation department called to schedule an install for that next Thursday. Our window had popped out of the frame at this point so I said it had to be done Monday. I was surprised at how much back and forth there was between myself and the installation department but they did schedule it for Monday between 8 – 10.
The installation guy got here at 8:40. It is only one person for an oversized window on a second story. It took him three hours to install.
I am giving 3 stars because the product looks nice, the job is complete and our salesman is very helpful. Still waiting on front door.

A seemingly good product coupled with decent prices cannot offset shady/​manipulative sales practices.
I needed an «economy grade» door for the side entry to my garage, as the old one was literally rotting away. I considered Home Depot which at face value seemed like it would be my best option, but decided I’d get some other quotes first. So I called Feldco and set up an appointment.
The appointment went fine and the quality of the offering exceeded my expectations — especially the warranty and the rekeying of the lock to match my other doors. The price was even reasonable and, while higher than what I figured Home Depot would cost, there was certainly some added value in the Feldo proposal, as well as the confidence that it would be done right. Then came the problem…
«I can only offer this price today?» Really? Why? I was not about to drop that kind of money with only one quote in hand. I was then informed that there was so little margin that it wouldn’t make sense for him to come out again. I told him he didn’t have to come out again, and to do whatever he needed to then, and to write it up. I was informed that, «…we don’t work that way.» Not working in that way cost Feldo a sale as after getting two more quotes I liked the Feldco proposal best. But clearly they don’t want the business that badly.

My wife I recently purchased a home and decided to do some upgrades which included, gutters, soffit and fascia and doors. Our neighbor recommended FELDCO since she had just had them do some work. We even requested the same salesperson «Ernie», since she had such a great experience.
He was late to our appointment, arrogant and just a plain a**hole. I wanted him gone but my wife convinced me to give him a chance.
He threw catalog books on the table and asked what we wanted, I told him we didnt know where to begin and wanted to stay within budget since we had quite a few projects, ge said, and I quote «Well then you called the wrong company» I wanted him gone then, money was not an issue, we just didnt need the most expensive doors they had. Wife smoothed things over, we signed a contract for all that we needed. Moron Ernie left and said we would hear from someone in a couple of weeks.
Someone came out to measure, surprise, surprise, someone else had to come and meassure again. Then time passed and passed my wife called to check on the status and was told someone would eventually call to schedule an appointment for install.
A few weeks passed, gutters, fascia and soffit were installed. Then a friend pointed out that the soffit was not vented. My wife called and wasbtokd Ernie should have told us that vents were optional and they were not part of the order. Also, that the doors we picked were not available and that Ernie should have told us that too, Ernie’s sales manager is supposed to be in touch with us… we’ll see!
I’ll update later but as it stands, will never recommend or use this company again. They will not be installing the 16 windows we have to replace.
UPDATE: Our doors were finally installed, we’re scheduled for someone else to come and do the job right because the original installer didn’t. By far a horrible company to do business with.

A pretty good experience from beginning to end with one kink.
We called and made an appointment and met with Franco in our home. We wanted to replace the glass block windows in our basement with windows that would allow for an escape in a fire emergency. So, we wanted a very specific product. Franco gave us a great in home demo and explained the product, the warranty, installation, etc very well. We were given a much lower quote from Home Depot’s installation department (with lower quality windows) however my husband was so impressed with the presentation by Franco that we decided to go with Feldco.
The one blemish on an otherwise great experience was the fact that we had an installation window from 8−10am. No problem, I planned to get my son up just before 8 so that we could get out the door and be out of everyone’s hair. Well, that wasn’t meant to be as our doorbell was rung promptly at 7:02am by the installation guys. We were all still in bed. I literally stumbled around (and being almost 9 months pregnant, I literally stumbled around) and found my glasses so I could open the door.
When I looked blankly at the guy, he said, «We’re here with Feldco».
I responded, «Our window is 8 – 10 and it’s 7am».
He responded, «but it’s Saturday».
(we stared at each other)
I finally said, «what does that mean? Did we hit a different time zone because it’s Saturday?».
He said, «On Saturday we like to get an early start».
Oh. Well that would have been nice to know when I scheduled the appointment and was given a window.
So instead of being awoken by me getting him up for the morning so we could get out of the house before installation (like Franco advised), my son was awoken to the smashing and shaking of the house as they removed the glass blocks while I frantically showered and tried to get out the door.
The windows look great though and the installation was quick and otherwise event free.

Great product but execution was a clusterfuck failure. How many guys does it take to get a proper measurement. It took one feeble tech & one eager salesman and a matter of over a week to fourteen days. I wanted the job completed in 3 weeks. It took FIVE. Once the salesman got his sale he passed us off like a used baton and recommended to call customer service with questions.
*Disconnect* Is the overall feeling I got when dealing with anyone. You are an invoice number pending the next step of the sales process and that’s it. Until the next step happens, who knows what is happening.
During this time there was miscommunication of pricing, quoting, labor, measurements, and so much more. The work was moved from one contractor to the next. Feldco does not do installs they only supply the product and offer contractors that can do the job that they maintain. (This is information given to me by the sales dept) Again it took FIVE weeks instead of the three weeks I had worked hard with the sales guy to get it all accomplished.
The windows are good sturdy windows, yes. Great product and did well through the winter season and did as they said in blocking out unnecessary sunlight and UV rays. It’s the sales order failures which it took to get them installed and the overall experience which stinks. I don’t think I would ever use Feldco again for windows.
It’s cheaper to buy them via any major retailer and have a contractor install. Even these «high» grade windows are available. I wouldn’t add that you score any deals with purchasing from Feldco. You do however get a piece of mind purchasing from a window company. I hope you sense my battle, between the dislike of the experience versus the like of the product.
Since the posting of the review Doug has contacted me about this and per that reason I’d bump the review up to 3.5 stars, but Unilocal doesn’t have that feature. Also if the information from my review helps enlighten management to mold the sales experience to be better, that would be Kosher.

Well, if you looking for average quality insulated windows at a good price but don’t care about customer service or customer loyalty, this is the place for you.
In this case, they seem glad to help unless you need them. And, only for a price. Well, this place could learn a few things from ABT electronics, in terms of customer service.
One would think after spending and referring tens of thousands of dollars of work to this place that they could stop by and evaluate a problem with the windows closing correctly. I’m not talking major work but a simple fix. Suffice it to say, we won’t be purchasing window from this place again.
Another review stated «so far so good». Yes, well, that will be your experience. The windows will work fine. But, if something goes wrong, good luck getting one of those friendly, personable representatives out to the house.
