This is a dated review, since Unilocal wasn’t around in 2002 when I got married. Paul Heiden was the florist who ordered, arranged and set up the flowers for my wedding. I was referred to him by Mary Schmidt, my wedding coordinator at Dream Weddings Inc. She saved me from what was destined to be a floral nightmare. She got me out of a horrid, salesman-pressure-coerced contact, and led me to Paul at Crown Florist. He has this fascination with crowns & tiaras, hence the name. But he’s a very charming and sweet person. He was very open to my ideas for bouquet arrangements, and understood my vision for the ribbon wrapping for my bridal bouquet, and pomanders for my flower girls. He loved that I wanted some bling for my bouquet. So we did rhinestone-tipped stephanotis, instead of the«usual» pearl-tipped pins. He especially loved the fact that my grandma MUST have bling. When he showed me an example, I told him, «No. You don’t know my grandma. She needs MORE bling.» As he was setting up the cocktail hour area, he noticed a little memorial I had set up by the guestbook, that he later said touched him. Little did we know that we had something in common. When he found out that I had him seated at the reception for his vendor meal, he tried to refuse, saying he was going to grab something to eat in the restaurant section. I refused his refusal, considering how great of a person he’d been to work with, thus far. The biggest thing that impressed me about Paul was after the wedding. I had forgotten my bouquet at the reception hall(set it down at one of the tables during photos, and never picked it up again). I was supposed to give it to my MIL to have her send it off to be made into a shadowbox. When he found out that I didn’t have my bouquet anymore, he dropped off the flowers to the shadowbox-maker(no charge!), since he had extras of the bouquet materials. He had the extras, what was he going to do with them, anyway? Plus, it was a great post-wedding service for him to find out about. I would have expected to be S.O.L., and not have any pretty flowers to remember my wedding by; but thanks to Paul, I have(an almost exact-not the same ribbon wrap-design [not his fault]) copy of my wedding bouquet, surrounded by my invitation, table cards, and other mementos in the shadowbox next to our bed; 8 years later. Thanks Paul. Every bride I’ve met since my wedding, I’ve offered your contact information, and still have nothing but glowing remarks for you.
