Established in 2009.

Park Fair Ace Hardware opened our doors in May of 2009 with the goal of being an asset to the community and the desire to make the area the best possible area so the residents can be proud of their neighborhood.

I have a degree from Iowa State University in Community Design/​Urban Design. I worked in that field for several years with numerous clay brick manufacturers before I decided to make the jump and open Park Fair Ace Hardware.

We went on a sunday and while we didn’t find the item we had made the trip for, my kids (5 and 2) were interested by the things on the shelf. Who knew I’d find Melissa and Doug toys at a hardware store! All the employees were nice and helpful. One of them came up and gave my kids a couple bouncy baseballs for free! As we were checking out, the lady at the cash register gave us all popcorn! It has a small community feel and that can be a winner for some customers. It gets 4 out of 5 stars only because they didn’t carry the item we needed. We’ll definitely be back.

Handy place to get all your hardware needs got to come here. Their close are they’re convenient and they have usually what you need. I have my window screen serviced here they do a great job. Nuts an bolts and everything else you need to fix whatever it is you have to do. They also make car keys here very convenient

They always have what I’m looking for, and being an animal lover helps. I was greeted by a dog then a cat and since I’m an animal lover I will always come here first, I wish more businesses were like them.

Here’s an example of what you will find here:
I’m doing work on one of my rental units nearby. I need some ceiling paint. I walk in, and as usual I’m picked out as soon as I make two steps into the door to ask if there’s something they can help me with. I guess browsing is not allowed (to bad for them since that’s when my wallet starts to loosen up, and I buy things that I «think» I need).
I tell the clerk that I need some ceiling paint. I’m asked: «interior or exterior»…
Um, exterior ceiling paint? I don’t think there is a such thing as exterior ceiling paint.
Now I looked hard and far for anyone claiming to sell exterior ceiling paint. I even asked the clerk to show me a can of paint labeled «exterior ceiling paint» which he wasn’t able to do.
I think I’ll just drive the extra 10 minutes to the next nearest home center store instead of stopping here. At least I can browse around those stores to get ideas on projects that I may want to tackle in the future.
