I use to go to this bar when it first opened and I lived downtown off of court ave! I’ve never agreed with the outfits they wear but it didn’t stop me from coming to get martinis. I go now and you never get the same ingredients in the same drink. I moved up to long islands, and each time the bartender had no idea what to put in them. the prices are outrages. I went with a few friends and had went early because it does get busy at night and was asked to move for another group. RUDE! Everyone here dresses trashy now. It use to be more of a classy bar but not anymore. The bathrooms are the best I have seen in a bar. Always clean and there’s more then a few stalls. I probably won’t go to liars anymore as I can make my own drinks for what they charge for one of theirs.

My husband and I went here after seeing Lewis Black at the civic center downtown. We had never been to Des Moines and just kinda stumbled into it. We had a great time, loud music, decent drinks, tons of people. Great if you want a place to drink and dance for a few hours. Definitely a meat market vibe, but if you’re with a date, you’ll be fine. This is a dance club, I’m not sure why you would expect actual service. Be prepared to shout at the bartender, and you will get service!

I don’t hate this place but I don’t love it either. I usually can bare this place when I’ve had a couple drinks or else I’ll sit there looking at all of the girls acting foolish when they think they’re acting«cute» and D-Bags with their tight and bright graphic shirt. All of the waitresses are wearing catholic school girl uniforms and are horrible. I’ve had only one waitress that was actually really good and came to check on us when we look like we need more drinks. Most of the time though they’ll ignore you and just walks around the place acting«cute.» It’s best to just go straight to the bar but you’ll have to force your way through the crowd and then try to get one of the bartender’s attention. The bartenders are good though, they do notice you quickly and get your drinks right away. I really feel they need to expand their dance floor, the place isn’t a tiny place and the dance floor only covers maybe 5% of the place. I’m a person that«gets down» and it’s a little difficult when you’re back to back with strangers and you end up being too close to that dude that didn’t think about showing or find it difficult using deodorant. I really enjoy the music they do play here, it’s more of the top 40s and I know some people don’t enjoy that but it’s what people are familiar with so they get hyped when they hear that song.

First off this is not my type a place. I do not go to bars like this on a regular basis. Although, I am not one to compere«Attack of the Killer Tomatoes» to «Six Sense.» It is a cool bar and they have a nice gimmick going with the Catholic school look for the wait staff. Just wondering what they are going to do when the gimmick gets old which it will(see how un-busy hooters is lately). The interior is nice and they do have top notch DJs playing. It is located in a building that is home to 4 bars so you can go between all of them(might have to pay a new cover). This bar is definitely more filled with the 20 something crowd. Stick to just beer though because it will be easier to get. The mix drinks are not worth the price due to them being very weak. The bartenders do know what they are doing but they could be a little faster in service. This is a place to go and party not sit down and have an intellectual conversation over drinks with friends. All and all if you want to dance this would be the better option to go to in the DeMo!

This is an awesome spot. The girls were way cute wearing school girl uniforms. They were sweet too. This place upon first sight was so impressive. I LOVED the music. I got there early, before anyone got there and the DJ was playing British pop mixed with top music etc. The drinks were cheap, the place is clean and immediately put me in a good mood. Like everywhere else in Des Moines there were TVs with sports games on, but they weren’t too big. The bar is located upstairs from a sports bar. There’s smoking inside which is rare in Des Moines and the size is great. Very easy to get lost in a crowd and walk around with something new to see.

The owners of this place clearly paid a lot of attention to detail. The interior is really sleek, with the DJs sitting in a perch atop the bar, cool retro music posters on the walls, big booths, huge windows with views of the city, and a crazy sink area in the bathroom(you’ll see what I mean). They played pretty good music, mostly hip hop and 80s stuff. Our waitress was really attentive. Compared to what I’m used to at home, the drinks are insanely cheap, which is always a plus.
