History

Established in 1996.

Central Iowa Pool & Spa was founded in 1996 by John and Nora Mosher in Des Moines, Iowa. John and Nora began the company primarily installing above ground swimming pools and portable spas. Recently Mario Alba took over operations allowing John and Nora to work in a semi-​retired capacity. Mario started out installing above ground swimming pools for CIPS in 1996. From there he moved up to crew foreman, service tech, service manager, general manager, and now President. Working closely with John over the past 15 years has helped Mario continue the tradition of hard work that has made CIPS so successful.

Over the past 13 years CIPS has expanded to include in ground pools, billiard tables, and other outdoor and indoor accessories. Central Iowa Pool & Spa is a BioGuard Platinum dealer, Sundance Spa Premier Dealer, Pacific Pool Showcase Builder, an Aqua 100 award winner, and a member of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals.

Mario has been in the business for 16 years and has worked from the bottom up, installing and repairing in the beginning, working his way up to sales, and eventually to owning the shop. He has a true passion not only for the business, but for making sure the business is done right.
