History

Established in 1984.

The Beach Park Event Center is a historical landmark know as the Birthplace of Des Moines. The Beach Park has been home to Native American Tribes, Mills, the Draper Orphanage and the Covenant Church. Most recently the Event Center was a Covenant Church Retreat. It was purchased from the church by the City of Des Moines in the 80’s. Its is now used as Facility Rental Space for all kinds of events and functions.
