The Water’s Edge Salon & Spa

I really enjoyed my time here. My massage was great. The staff was friendly. The only problem I felt was the waiting area. I wanted for my massage for only a bit but then had to go to a different building for the massage. Not so much a complaint but just was expecting to walk out in the cold after unlayering.

This place is awful. Got a pedicure, and the area was nice but the ladies doing it were snobs. It made me uncomfortable. Then I got my prom hair done there and it came out TERRIBLE. They changed my stylist TWICE before I even got in because they were having staffing problems. And then the lady doing it had to ask another stylist for help. She even said «Oh shit» while doing my hair and then tried to make it seem like she didn’t mess up terribly. After I left I cried and my mom took me to salon bogar to get it fixed. They did a much better job. And she ranted about her kids having sex on the couch. Never ever go here.

I got a massage here and wasn’t pleased. It was a bit uncomfortable and not all that relaxing.

I have been going here for a year now and I couldn’t be happier! Knowledgeable staff, very affordable prices compared to other salons in the area, staff who clearly enjoys working there and great vibe! My fun purple additions stay put! All of my family now go here to get their hair done, all six of us. I also finally got a manicure from someone who knew what they were doing and who didn’t get clip happy with my cuticles. In fact she educated me about caring for them so they don’t need all of that clipping! Highly recommended!

A five star experience through and through!
I’ve never dyed my hair any color at all before, but for a long time I’ve wanted to dye my mousy brown hair bright BLUE! I’ve been looking around for the right place to do it for a while, since it can be an involved (and potentially disasterous) process with the bleaching and everything. I was comforted when I walked into Water’s Edge because all of the stylists had fabulous hair (some with blue!) so I knew I was in knowledgeable hands.
My stylist was Karen, and she listened carefully to what I wanted and gave some great advice. She got right to work and did the entire thing (bleach, heat, wash, dye, wash, cut, blow dry) in 2 hours and it looks fabulous. EXACTLY like I wanted it to look. She even custom made the color blue I wanted. Another stylist came over to help with the blow drying and I felt so pampered! Every staff member I met was sweet and friendly and knew so much about hair. After, she reccomended some really helpful products but I didn’t feel like she was pushing them on me at all. As an aside, the location is comfortable and pretty and easy to get to from 93.
I live in Boston, but I’ve already made 3 follow up appointments with Karen for color touch ups! I get better quality and better treatment at Water’s Edge than I do on Newbury Street. Thanks ladies!
