We love Zorbas! The Prairie Platter is our favorite. If you enjoy Texas hots, then give Zorbas a try!

I am from New York(not upstate) and I take my hotdogs seriously. The meat sauce was good and that’s about it!!! Who the f$#¥£ uses fake, bright yellow mustard on a hotdog?!? Shame on you!!! If you don’t have real mustard and quality sauerkraut, don’t sell hotdogs! Now the dogs: WTF? Why can’t you freaking people grill a hotdog like a self respecting New Yorker should? Hotdogs are made to snap, not flop. A garlicky kosher(or kosher style) hotdog in a natural casing is the way to go. Why would someone drive to this place when their local elementary school cafeteria is selling the exact same hotdog?

Absolute must stop for the best Texas hot in the area. I also highly recommend getting a cheeseburger with the sauce on it. Ask for it «UP with Sauce– and while you are at it, get the fries smothered in sauce as well. Any time I am in the area I stop in, and typically have everything I mentioned above– even if it’s for breakfast. Can’t get enough!

As for ‘bang for the buck’ or late night, post weekend drinking night, I could see Zorba’s being my ‘go to’ spot if I was a local. Many establishments close shop pretty early in town from my experience here. This review is abit abridged, I already ate lunch day of visit, but was leaving town. Passed by for a dog to sample the hot sauce, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s good, like a sloppy joe sauce. Very flavorful and meaty, but not hot spice wise as I would have imagined. The dog and bun dropped the ball here, for my tastes. They didn’t really have the bold enough flavor or kick to offset the sauce, and were not much different than had I boiled a dog at home. Not biased towards the local char grill dogs either, since Nathan’s Original in Coney Island is my favorite. Under the sauce, there was no synergy, just all sauce flavor. In retrospect, I think the sauce may be better served laddled over an open bun cheeseburger, chili con carne style. Definitely will stop by next Buffalo visit on empty stomach to sample more of Zorba’s.

Zorbas… what else is there to say about the place, other than it is awe-some! :) The food is crazy cheap so if you can’t decide on what to get, you *could* try a bit of everything! Okay, well maybe not everything, but a few things. The place is a bit small, but there is a parking lot and I have always managed to find a seat inside. I don’t know the hours during the week, but I believe they are open 24 hours on the weekend. When inside, you order up front and then they bring the food over to your when it is ready. Everything is good here… I enjoy that you can get breakfast sandwiches all day, they are tasty. The burgers are quite good and the fries are always cooked perfectly. I had a friend that I used to come here a lot with and I miss them, but I guess we are on different paths now. Maybe they will sometime cross again, but until or if that day comes, I will return to Zorba’s with fond memories and a strong desire for a sausage breakfast sandwich on a bagel… or a burger… or a texas hot. :)

I shall spare the lengthy review and get straight to the point. Stop everything you are doing and come here for a Texas Hots hot dog! If you are new to the area or maybe even born underneath a rock and have not had Zorba’s, then please do your taste buds a favor and order 5. Ok 2 should be plenty(I would down 5 easy). Simply a Buffalo staple for decades. Although heavily duplicated, the reigning champ will always be Zorba’s.

1* for ‘tradition‘. It‘s appropriate that the sh – hole section of the world that is WNY/Buffalo would have a favorite restaurant that induces toilet bowl time. This was highly recommended and we were totally disappointed. The Sahlens dogs were moist, buns soft and something I may cook on a bender at 4am. The meat sauce was scary. As a foodie, was looking fwd to experiencing the foods of WNY(Wings, Weiner, Weck) and disappointed with the area and the food. This place was a disaster. I can appreciate dirty/divey and tradition, as long as the product is good. As much as time(say 1977?) seems to have stopped and not progressed in the area, it may be time to reinvent up there. YUK!

The disadvantage of being named Zorba’s is that you are right at the back of the phone book. Then again — maybe that’s the point? Ignore this statement, it means nothing. But then again, perhaps it means everything. They could have called it All Night Zorbas and been under A. Except they’re no longer open all night most of the week. They could have called it Aardvarks… or AAA Towing Service Café maybe but that would be false advertising as they are not affiliated with AAA. What to get: a Texas hot, a Chocolate Malt. What else is good: Burgers. This is a little place on Transit that is open 24 hours on weekends, has tiny little booths and is quintessential American fast food. They used to have a sign around the side that read, in this format: PARKINGFORZORBA’S TEXAS HOTCUSTOMERSONLY And my sexy friend and I decided that one day, we would cover up the top part of the sign, so it read«HOTCUSTOMERSONLY.» Indeed, we always parked in that spot. And there are some real hotties working here and often visiting here(though often teenyboppers) so it kind of makes sense that they would have such a parking spot. Zorba’s takes hot dog deliciousness to a new level. Fighting off competition from Charlie The Butcher’s, Ted’s, Dominick’s, Abbott Hots, and more, it’s probably the best tasting hot dog in WNY. Buffalonian hot dogs are extremely underrated and this is one of the best ones out there. They also have an excellent milkshake which is thick and particularly rich, and I highly recommend getting it malted for a unique experience and lots of little malt bits in your shake. Their hot dogs are the star attraction though. However by no means are they the only attraction. The burgers are excellent too(always order your burgers and dogs with everything — it’s that simple — the meat sauce makes them as good as they are). The Garbage Plates are not my favourite although I think they’re called hot plates, or something. They were invented in Rochester but Zorba’s were among the first to introduce them to Buffalo and they did a great job at it. They’re not my favourite garbage plates in WNY(that would be Pauly’s), but they’re well worth a try nevertheless. Bill Grays and University Hots also do them but Pauly’s in Batavia has them all beat if you want a GP West of Rochester. Fried Bologna is an extremely Buffalonian thing, and I recommend giving that a try too. The service is usually friendly, and there is one tall, tanned blonde cashier in particular who is absolutely stunning and is worth the price of admission alone. I wonder if she knows how much I adore her :) I wonder if he cares. I hope her boyfriend isn’t reading this. I hope her boyfriend isn’t the big chef with the shaved head and tattoos. Buffalo Hot Dogs are something special. There’s Ted’s of course, and it’s very good, but there are so many others, which are even more«Buffalonian», Louie’s is the most famous one, but better versions are the luscious Zorba’s, the dreamy Abbott, the heavenly Hot Dog Heaven, the Rochester import Bill Gray’s and the Batavia import Pauly’s… Ted’s aside, which is a char-grilled different story, this is what Buffalo dogs are: they are snappy, delicious hot dogs, slathered in onions and an almost-bitter, almost-Chilli like meat sauce which, if done properly, is warm, filling, comforting, and absolutely sinfully delicious. It’s the same sort of «meat sauce» that you might find slathered over a Rochester Garbage Plate. If you get a chance to try one of these, do not pass it up, because it’s just that good. Just make sure you eat it hot. Did I mention that really good looking people tend to eat at Zorba’s? Not that this says anything about the quality of the food. I mean, every time I am unfortunate enough to have to go to Starbucks, there are usually some ridiculously hot girls in there too. I might even go as far to say that really good looking people often don’t have very good taste, and tend to gravitate more towards chains and brand names. But then I’d be getting into generalizations, and unlike ALL other British people I would NEVER make one of those. And, like Sean Connery, I would also NEVER say NEVER. I forgot to mention this might also be a good place to go after a workout. All you have to do is switch the A and the B in Zorba’s and it becomes Zorab’s, which sounds very much like Sore-Abs, which definitely sounds like a place you would go after a work out. For Hot Dogs. Oh wait.

Zorba’s has hand-down the best Texas-Hots in the Buffalo area. The Texas sauce is a work of art. Now, I will admit that it isn’t the prettiest restaurant in the world, but I think we can all get past that once we taste the Texas sauce. It has a great flavor that I can’t quite identify, but the sauce is good enough to eat by itself. if you stop in at 3:00AM on a Saturday it will be full of loud drunks but when I’m coming home late that doesn’t stop me. It’s my favorite late night food option, despite the drunken antics often prevalent. Maybe some day I will get around to trying something other than Texas-Hots or french fries here, but I haven’t so I can’t comment on the other menu items. But once you try the Texas sauce at Zorba’s you will be hooked.

Cheap eats that tasted like any other decent diner food. Asked for a sample of the sauce just to try and was told that it needed to be paid for… ugh. Ordered breakfast and although it wasnt busy, the food was rushed and not heated well enough. The strangest part had to be the women’s bathroom door, which was too wide for its frame by about 1.5″ and so could not close. Make sure you remember to lock the outside door instead!

I eat here about twice a week, its beyond yummy! The meat sauce is not your average Texas hot sauce its thick and meaty and not super spicy. They offer great portions for the price too! Can’t say enough about Zorbas food and all the staff too!

Not bad and you don’t even have to pay extra for the greasy foods or divey atmosphere of the place. It has some rather unique dishes that I think were devised for either being hang over cures or Cheektowaga and Depew area taste buds such as the chopped hot dogs with fries and cheese all mixed together. Since they didn’t offer a lowering cholesterol Lipitor cocktail with it, I didn’t eat much of it but have to admit it was tasty enough. What I have admit is that they do have a decent Texas style hot dog sauce, and since I’m rating the place for what it is, being merely a sobering up cheap hot dog dive, it does come in as Four Stars in that category.

Hell yes. A perfect, small, cheap-ish hot dog joint. The milkshakes are one of the better ones in the area, as well. Always friendly waitresses. Breakfast rocks, too. A staple of the ‘burbs.

Divey, greasy diner food at affordable prices. What’s not to love! Zorba’s has the typical menu you’d expect from a hot dog joint. Breakfast favorites, hot dogs, burgers, fries, shakes, etc. My favorite is the Texas Prairie Platter which is chopped up hot dogs, french fries, onions, mustard and cheese all mixed together. It is basically the ultimate comfort food. A small interior means there can often be no tables available, so if you know what you want to eat, you may want to call ahead and get it to go.

I used to go there about 20 years ago, and enjoyed them,…Well since I moved back to the area I thought I would give them a try again… I got two texas hots with cheese, an order of fries, and a chocolate shake… I think my pallet has changed over the years… To me their sauce is very boring… It just doesn’t have enough spice, or enough of a kick to it for me… Just kind of plain for a texas hot, imo… I know some people like them, and that’s fine… Different strokes for different folks… The fries were average at best… Though they do give you a decent amount of them… They stuff them in a brown bag, and give them to you… This is only my second review, when I figure out how to upload a pic I will… I have a pic of my dogs, and fries in the bag… The shake was average though you could upgrade by adding malt for .50…I wish I would have… The older lady who took my order was friendly, and the younger girl who brought me my shake was also friendly… I also asked that my dogs be cooked well done, and they were. Thank you.
