Urban Eyes Vision Care

So friendly! I had several eyeglasses that needed adjusting, and they helped me with each with total professionalism and attentiveness today. Didn’t charge me a cent.

I called on Tuesday to see if I could get a same week Saturday appointment. The girl at the front desk, Kayla, said she could call me if there was a cancellation. They did have a cancellation and called Wednesday; I had never been there before. Kayla was awesome, the male eye technician, I feel bad I can’t think of his name, but he was great, and the eye doctor was great as well! I now have my first pair of contacts and I love them! I also explained to the doctor that I have anxiety attacks so she worked with me and didn’t make me dilate my eyes. They were all incredibly nice, and understanding of my odd quirks. Thank you! This is now my new eye place, and I am going by to tell all of my friends and family!
Update: Called them to discuss Air Optics Multi Vision contacts and Kate called the doctor and got right back to me with the answers to all of my questions! Once again, excellent service!

I just went for my first-​ever optometrist appointment and saw Dr. Patel today. She was so wonderful, especially to fit me in on a moment’s notice because of a concern with my retina. All staff at Urban Eyes were a pleasure to work with and I’d highly recommend them. I even found a great pair of glasses in their store!

I love this place! Great selection and more importantly, the best customer service in town. I shopped around a bit before coming back because of the one on one service! A+ Thank you :)

Dr. Patel and her staff are great. Went here to diagnose an injured eye. Dr. Patel was very thorough and patient. She and her staff did a great job explaining the various tests they ran. I would return in a heartbeat should I need to see an ophthalmologist again.

Urban Eyes is fantastic and I highly recommend going to them for your eye care needs. Dr. Pater is prompt, thorough, and super nice. Her staff is great as well. I can’t say enough good things about Urban Eyes. Even if you don’t live in the Highlands, it’s worth a little drive for the exceptional service you will receive.

Dr. Patel gives a very thoughtful and thorough eye exam. She is thinking about your current vision but also helps you understand how things will change over time. There is a great selection of frames, with a range of styles and prices. I frequently receive compliments about frames I have purchased here, over the past 10+ years. The office staff is friendly and professional. The shop is very connected to the local community, which is also a plus.

Urban Eyes is so helpful and there is great customer service! I would really recommend paying them a visit. I have been going here since they opened and I have to say Dr. Alpa is the best. Thorough, caring and explains things very well. I recently had an issue with my eye after a recent exam, and she took me in right away, checked it out, and gave me guidance on what to expect next. Later when I was traveling, I experienced some of the trouble signs associated with my condition. I rushed in to emergency surgery for my detached retina. I’m thankful she was clear with her advice, as I may have ignored the trouble signs had she not so clearly told me. Thanks Dr. Alpa.

We recently changed insurance and discovered Urban Eyes as the closest vision center accepting VSP.
We were able to easily and conveniently book two consecutive appointments for my husband and stepdaughter. Urban Eyes is tucked away in a strip shopping center off of 32^nd and Lowell in the Denver Highlands neighborhood and even though I’m sure we’ve driven by it hundreds of times, we didn’t even know it was there.
When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon we basically had the entire place to ourselves. Although it’s a smaller selection of frames than you might find at a larger business, it was easy to quickly find multiple frames we were interested in. Warren was extremely friendly and helpful, especially in helping with choosing frames. It was refreshing to meet such a friendly staff, including the eye doctor and to support a locally owned business. Warren did a great job of explaining how our insurance would be covering our purchase and both pairs of glasses were ready in just 4 business days. We highly recommend you skip the vision center at the mall and check out Urban Eyes.

I have not had my eyes checked in quite some time and completely forgot that I had vision benefits. I looked in my network, chose a place that was close to home and received great reviews. Extremely happy I went with Urban Eyes Vision. A great benefit for me is that Urban Eyes is available on Saturdays! Very helpful for my 10 hour schedule! The location was easy to find with designated parking. Inside you’ll find a welcoming, friendly staff and warming enviroment! Process from beginning to end was seamless! The selection of glasses was fantastic and the staff was very helpful choosing the frames right for you. I loved my experience at Urban Eyes and definately recommend if you’re needing any type of eye care!

This is a great office with great staff, doctors and service. They are super helpful and it is easy to always get quick adjustments to my glasses when I am near by. I am very happy with my glasses as well. For the three star review about VSP, that person should be writing a three start review for their insurance company and not a doctor’s office. Insurance companies never give me the full breakdown of costs when I call before a doc visit. She would have been better off to just call the office and get the breakdown because VSP or any other insurance never covers as much as they claim. I haven’t hesitated to recommend this office to friends and family!

Another little gem in The Highlands. The staff is super friendly and Dr. Patel was very thorough on my eye exam. I just stopped in today for an adjustment on my frames and was immediately helped. I feel comfortable and welcomed which means they definitely have my business and referrals!

Dr. Patel is a Rock Star! I have always had wonderful care and there is ample parking. The office staff is very warm and professional and Dr. Patel is engaging and extremely competent. I highly recommend new patients to visit Dr. Patel.

**VSP Vision Network users pay attention to costs***
I was referred to Urban Eyes from my VSP vision insurance. The shop is really cute and has great brands for glasses. If you are not looking for expensive frames this place is probably not for you… I got some amazing Kate Spade frames!
When you check in there is a form you have to fill out and a laminated sheet explaining that they are going to do a special treatment on you that costs an additional $ 39 co-​pay. Luckily I caught that or I would have been even further surprised by my ending bill. I asked them not to do the service. I think they should have verbally explained this before you sign the paper. Minus one star for that!
The doctor is so nice and friendly! I felt like they had great technology for ensuring you had a proper eye exam. So, 5 stars for that!
After the exam, we picked out frames and lenses. The staff was really helpful and has a good eye for fashion and styles. The frames range from $ 60-​$ 400. I picked a mid range $ 194 pair.
Through the VSP vision insurance, you have a $ 10 copay for the exam and $ 25 copay for the lenses and a $ 130 allowance for frames. I expected my bill to come just under $ 100. However, it was about $ 215.
I went home and looked at my insurance plan and called them back to ask for explanation of totals (they did not provide me with an itemized receipt). They told me that I had a $ 10 Co-​pay for the exam. $ 25 co-​pay just for getting glasses, but couldn’t really explain what for. $ 51 Copay for the «antiglare coating» on the lenses. $ 75 Copay for the antiglare lenses themselves. Not one of these are listed on my vision plan. They said they don’t offer the lenses that are covered in the regular VSP plan. I just feel like that since they KNEW I was part of the VSP network, they should have disclosed all these copays prior to me buying glasses. Truthfully, I should have just went to Costco or gotten the prescription and ordered online or something. I have a feeling the glasses would have been tremendously cheaper.
In the end I felt like there were many «hidden» costs and I hate leaving somewhere feeling like I was nickle and dimed.

I agree with the other Unilocal reviews about Urban Eyes and Dr. Patel. She really is a caring doctor. I am grateful that she is through in her eye exams, as she found a major reason to be concerned. She has worked with other Doctors to help me out, and has called to make sure things are okay. This kind of attention is hard to find. Really grateful to her.

I can see again! And the ladies… oh the ladies! I don’t go through a week without a compliment on my glasses from the ladies. And… while that is all true, I should also mention that Dr Alpa Patel is a very talented and caring doc. It’s your VISION, folks! You really should be placing your eyes in the care of someone you can trust. Alpa is that person.

Best optical shop I have ever used. Excellent selection of latest frames, prescription sports eye ware, etc. Friendly and knowledgable repair service.

I’m new to the city and have not found an eye doctor I want to stick with, however my search is over! Urban eyes staff has been more than accomodating. I recently experienced an eye infection that caused me to have treatment immediatley. After calling around many places, Dr. Patels office was the only one that offered to take my name down in case of a cancelation. I don’t even know if there was a cancelation but they called me back in 5 minutes to fit me in that day! Luckily I got in before things got worse and Dr. Patel was very nice and insightful as to the cause and future prevention of this type of infection. Not only that, but I currently do not have insurance and I didnt break my bank by going there! Great care at an affordable price. Thanks for everything, I will be back!!!

First of all, I literally didn’t know my vision could be this good with glasses. I thought contacts were just THAT much better, and I didn’t know I had just been in the wrong prescription for so long.
Second of all, Dr. Patel is so nice. She strikes that perfect balance that all doctors and dentist have to strive for: telling you you’re screwing up your health without being so preachy you never come back.
Third, they are right on top of it! I always get a friendly reminder call before my appointment, and calls immediately when my glasses or contacts are ready to be picked up.
Honestly, I have been in glasses since I was 8, and this place has been the most pleasant eye care experience I have had.
