You can find anything from clothes, dishware, sake sets, tea sets, feng shui items, origami, jewelry, books, make-​up, beauty brands, TCM, Asian snack, animé, Korean drama, kung fu movies, Asian pop CD’s, Teas, herbal medicine, fashion shoes, martial arts items, stationary, stone, crystals, beads, incense, singing bowls, metaphysical items, bamboo, bonsai, money tree, and many many more.

History

Established in 1980.

Our store is locally owned, right in the heart of Denver’s China Town. Our store opened in 1980, and was the first Asian gift shop in Colorado. Our family immigrated to Colorado from Vietnam, and in doing so we wanted to bring some of our Eastern culture and share it in the United States. We decided that the best way to do this was to start a small retail store. From this store, we felt we were able to give the people of Colorado a taste and feel of our culture. From this store, we felt we could offer America a feel of Asia without ever having to visit or travel there. We are now able to showcase merchandise from our homeland and share it with our customers. This is the basic concept of how Truong An Gifts sprouted from a simple wish into the first Asian department store in Colorado. It was an instant success. By evolving into a large company carrying a full line of quality Chinese goods, we have become well known as a neighborhood store.

Hi my name is Mimi Luong and I am the owner of Truong An Gifts. This store started in 1980 in Denver, Colorado. My mother Fawn Luong had an idea to start the first Asian gift shop in Colorado. Starting out with a small 450 sq ft. store with minimal choice for shopping. My mother started importing/​exporting through many suppliers from China, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, and many other countries. We have now 30+ years later, we have a 5000+ sq. ft. store with 2 large warehouse for retail/​wholesale. We have expanded our store to give a wide shopping choice for all of our customers, from furniture, feng shui gifts, beauty/​skincare, teas, herbs, clothes, plants, and many more! We are a local Asian variety store that has gifts for everyone. Now that I have a shared partnership in this business, I am proud to be a part of the family business that my mother created. I hope that I will be able to provide many more gifts ideas and build our business so every customer will shop with a smile.

Place is totally cute! They have everything you could imagine there. I definitely went to see what kind of makeup they have there and they do carry American brands like nyx, Chinese brands, and Korean! I went to see if they had Missha, which they do! Costs $ 30, which is a little on the high side compared to when I bought some in Houston.
They have a whole bunch of decorative statues there, teapots, traditional Chinese clothing, bamboo plants, plushes, origami, and more. This could be my newest favorite gift store to come visit. And definitely entertain yourself with their whistling doorbell.

Nice, fairly big, Asian imports store. I found the staff helpful, and friendly. I came in for a parasol, they have a variety of sizes and colors. The store has a bit of everything, fashion, china, lanterns, figurines, scarfs, snack, plants, teas, makeup, traditional Chinese medicines, decorative swords, etc. A good place to shop, for a gift, I am sure you will find something interesting. I found the prices fair. I have lived in SF, and Vancouver CA, and I loved those Chinatowns and shops. This is as close as I have found in Colorado.

This is an awesome store for all your Asian needs! I think this about the only store that i can get cute things that you don’t find in everyday malls. Great staff and always willing to help. Definitely check this place out during Chinese New Year. They have lion dances and lots if entertainment and festive items for sale.

Love this store! Has pretty much everything and anything Asian for decoration as well as Feng Shui. I came here looking for Feng Shui items as they had everything and Mi Mi whom works there helped more than i could ask for. I had a million Feng Shui questions and she answered them all politely and didn’t try to sell me items that i didn’t need which i appreciated considering i’m a Feng Shui newbie. Mi Mi told me that the Feng Shui that they have used and lived their whole lives is Ancient Star Based Feng Shui, which means your house sectors change each year at the end of the lunar calendar January 31st. The non-​traditional one size fits all Feng Shui (Black Hat, Compass) isn’t as accurate so i was very happy to meet Mi Mi and appreciated her advice as well. Will definitely be doing a Feng Shui consultation with Mi Mi in January so i can maximize my apartments energy for 2014 :)

cute little place in the strip mall at the intersection of alameda and federal. They have gifts, incenses, traditional costumes, origami papers, and more. I went there for the origami paper. They have a small selection, comparable to the ones sold at pacific mercantile in downtown. Price is fair. If you want something unique from Asia, come to this place. There is a 15% off coupon on Unilocal

When you look around this store, there’s a lot of Asian bric-​à-​brac, souvenirs, and home décor to be found at your disposal. It’s mostly made in China, and not how they used to make it. Just remember though, you break it, you buy it. The staff was helpful when I looked at the jade bracelets in their case (not the easiest thing to put on and off). I ended up walking away with a few trinkets, but was bummed to find that there was a coupon had I just checked-​in through Unilocal!Haha.
As far as mention of being followed around, the storekeepers are looking to keep their merchandise in one piece. As I said before, you break it, you buy it.

Rude staff more so the female owner. The store is family owned not even chinese but vietnamese. Items purchased from here are cheaply made and over priced. An issue with a item occurred and I took it back for exchange and the female owner accused me of inserting glue into the bottom of the night light and became highly defensive. The older female owner showed me her other nightlights and claimed they weren’t plastic but they are and inside the lamp has a polyurethane coating which melts at high heat. Owner accused me of putting alight bulb too large even though it wouldn’t go through the hole on the base and came up with random excuses. Owner escorted me out of shop and became highly upset when i told her i put the normal wattage i think was 40 wats in the base of the lamp she excitedly exclaimed its not 40.00 its 12.50 and i said the wattage not the price. I asked if he would as a one time courtesy exchange it for me and she said she cant its not her problem but my problem and then escorted me out.

Maybe I’ve gone in here too many times just to browse while my parents were grocery shopping, but I’ve noticed so many things about this place over the past few years. If you’re under the age of 19, look young or somewhat suspicious, you’ll definitely have someone following you around to the MAX. Maybe even two people. I went in there with my cousin and I guess his preppy duds made him look suspicious, so I noticed that there was a women following him and a younger (probably in his teens) kid following him around. They kept a distance but it was noticeable. Once I told him about it, he got so angry that we left immediately.
The items in here are so-​so. They don’t update their stock as much anymore besides the plushies, but they are starting to have an overbearing amount of Super Mario ones. Though I don’t mind finding the 1-​Up Star as that is my neck pillow for when a class is canceled and I sleep at school…
I’ve always been to the cute-​sy side of this store, never the full on Asian home décor side with giant jade Buddhas and «Good Luck» figurines, so I can’t fully compare it to the Modern Boutique up the street in the little strip market. the opposite side of Phở 95. But if you’re looking for cute-​sy stuff here’s the breakdown.
Origami paper = check for both, same stock
Star Jars = Modern Boutique (MUUUUCH cuter and fancier for great prices too)
Herbal Medicine/​Teas = Troung An

Though both range from cheap to expensive. They aren’t that far away from each other, so you can just go back and forth to satisfy your spree.

This shop is located inside the Far East Center. I’m really glad that Denver has this place. It’s a «You Can Find EVERYTHING ASIAN shop» from Buddha statutes, tea pot sets, assortment of tea leafs, beautiful bamboo arrangements, toys, cosmetics, Asian brand skin care, all sorts of home decors, pretty plates and bowls, herbal meds, Asian candies, water fountains, paintings, furniture, paper umbrellas, to even Jesus statutes. haha… oh! AND Ms. Hello Kitty herself can be found there also!
Their merchandise are priced from CHEAP to EXPENSIVE. Depending on if it’s candies you want to buy or a large size water fountain.
I took 2 of my Caucasian girlfriends here and they both spent a good $ 50 bucks while I limited my damage to a bag of peach jelly candy chews for $ 3. I guess being Chinese, I’m not as excited as they were to see all those stuff, but it sure is comforting to know a shop like that exist in Denver.
The place is very very crowded. Watch your steps as you move through the store because you may knock something expensive over. If that happens you’ll have to buy it. :D
Definitely a very fun place to treasure hunt, you’ll just have to be prepared to DIG because there is just soooo much stuff!

My favorite ohmygodIneedtogetagift! spot in Denver. Truong An is a treasure trove of gifts for anyone. I mean that literally, since I did Christmas shopping for my grandpa, 8 year old cousin, mom, brother, wife, and best friend all in one trip. Walking in the door, there is a field of lucky bamboo twisted into spires and curls from 6 inches to several feet. To the right is the Chinese medicine pharmacy and edible goods. The people there know their herbs, but do yourself a favor and see an acupuncturist before you are being handed the 50 $ bottle of crocodile bile and silkworm fungus. Towards the back is the beauty supply section. The girl who is there most days knows her stuff. The only time I ever dyed my hair was on her advice (I chose jet black with blue underneath). Further to the left is what the call «Hachi-​bachi» in Argentina; you know, knick-​knacks and such. The prices are decent and the selection is great. From there, check out their clothing section. Reasonably priced brocade clothing and animé t-​shirts are plentiful and well made. If you can’t decided what to get, ask if Mimi is around. She is the one of the store owners and has great advice, but more importantly, she speaks the best English and can cut you a deal. One last thing, they mean it when they say «you break it, you buy it» so leave the kids at home or keep em close so you have someone to blame when you knock over the $ 100 ceramic Buddha.
