Tony P’s Cherry Creek

Not living in Colorado any more I used to go to a place called Pasquinis, but heard it was under new ownership so I thought I would try something new. I didnt realize that Tony Ps is Pasquinis, like Pasquinis used to be. Started at the bar while waiting for my colleagues and met one of the most unprentious bartenders I have ver met. Nice guy, let me taste the house wine before I settled on a beer. Then on to dinner, pizza was awesome, salads were great and the egg plant was better than ever. Great staff, very reasonable prices, and we had a ton of fun. I will definitely be back next week, I think it will become my ‘go-​to” place while I am in Denver.

Let me start off my saying I wouldn’t have picked this as my dinner choice, but went along for the ride. We met some friends here, who like ourselves, have an under 2 child. First off, they sat us down and forgot to give us menu’s… so we got them ourselves. Our waitress was very nice, but clearly had too much on her plate as she was tending to the bar also.
We ordered our food, and waiting at least 30 minutes for a salads to arrive. It took an additional 30 minutes for our food to come after that. When bringing our food, they brought only half of a pizza to my friend because they had dropped the other half on the floor while cutting it. They mentioned how they would take his pizza off of the bill, and then bring him out a replacement (Which they did). My wife ordered the Gnocchi, which was a ripoff. The plate costed $ 15, and only had 10 pieces on the entire plate with nothing else.
We asked to speak to the manager about how long it took for us to get served (If you have kids you would understand how waiting an hour for food doesn’t work out too well). A guy walked over to our table and asked if we need more water, at which point we asked if he was the manager. He said «I am one of the managers» and proceeded to listen to our concerns. He then argued with us about timing, saying the Baked Ziti is why our meal took so long to get out (It doesn’t take an hour to make baked ziti). We then got our bill, and handed in our credit cards. Once we got them back to sign, we realized they never took the pizza off of our bill. We then waited an additional 25 minutes for them to fix this mistake.
Overall, the food was fairly bland and mediocre for the price. While our waitress was very nice, the overall service was terrible. I will never go back, or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I will start by saying I’m biased. My fiancée and I had our first date at Pasquini’s up in the Highlands, so we have an emotional connection to what are now being called Tony P’s restaurants. I think we’ve eaten at all of them except the original on South Broadway. Things are pretty consistent at all the locations, so this review can apply to wherever.
The first thing you’ll notice after you sit down is that the breadsticks are (expletive deleted) amazing. They’re thick and bready, crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, drizzled in butter, and served with delicious red sauce.
I’ve never had anything but pizza and salads, but all the pizzas and all the salads are delicious. I like a place that has «different» pizzas, and this place fits the bill. They have a pizza that is absolutely loaded with green and black olives, one with ricotta and artichoke hearts, and one with asparagus and chicken. If you’re a boring dolt, you can also make yourself a pepperoni pizza. All toppings are fresh (same goes for the gigantic salads) and plentiful. One of my favorite things about their pizza is that it is not at all greasy. The crust holds up well and shares the same positive characteristics of the bread sticks. It’s not healthy — it’s pizza — but you don’t necessarily feel your arteries clogging while you eat it.
Service has always been fair to good. Food comes out quickly, waters are refilled regularly. They have an excellent happy hour, with extremely fairly priced drinks of all types.
It’s not the best pizza in Denver, but they’ve always been good to us, they serve quality food at a fair price, and we eat here for pizza more often than anywhere else in town. And we eat A LOT of pizza, so that’s saying something.

Went to Tony P’s to watch the super bowl tv’s and sound were perfect… I met a few wonderful friends and we all enjoyed the crowd… everyone was high fiving to touch downs and having good conversations… did I mention the Happier hour prices nowhere in town could beat this… and the food was yummy and brought out quickly to accomdate our hungry tummies… the wait staff was very attenative to all of us… Even if the 49ers lost we all had a wonderful time at Tony P’s…Come visit Tony Ps…

I discovered Tony P’s during an adventure. I had had a terrible day and decided that the only thing that would make me feel better was pizza. New in town, Tom & I drove to Cherry Creek and started wandering aimlessly, assuming we’d hit a place that served pizza eventually.
Somehow, after 45 minutes, we still hadn’t found a place that served pizza. Dejectedly, I told Tom that we could go «just go eat somewhere else». He looked and me and said, «No. This is an adventure. We’re not stopping until we find pizza». Gotta love the guy. A few minutes later, we happened across Tony P’s,
It was a great experience. Our server was friendly and we loved the pizza. We’ve taken my parents and Tom’s mom there and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. I adore pizza, and Tony P’s pizza always makes me happy.

I love a good calzone. Tony P’s calzones are a-​ok. A little lacking in the cheese department, since I like ‘em good and cheesy, but nonetheless a pretty good calzone. I like that the pepperoni and sausage are on the spicy side. And wow, the calzones are big, big enough for two people to share as an entrée.
Their pizza is pretty alright, too. Nothing to go out of your way for, but nothing to avoid either.
I’ve tried a variety of appetizers here and my favorite was the fried eggplant stuffed with mozzarella. The breadsticks were a little dry and the marinara wasn’t enough to counteract that.
The service is friendly and casual and lends itself well to the vibe of a no-​frills pizza joint in Cherry Creek.

This review is for delivery only since I have never set foot in the restaurant… and it looks like I never will. We’ve received three separate deliveries from Tony P’s in the past couple of months. On the first occasion, I had Grandma Rossi’s Ravioli. It was fine but nothing special. The second time, Mr. P received a completely wrong calzone. We probably should have called to complain but after the hour delivery time, he was starving and wasn’t going to wait for a replacement. The third time we both ordered 10″ pizzas. Mr. P had the combo pizza and said it was just okay. I created my own pizza with three toppings, which were lacking and not very good. The pizza was mostly dough and sauce with some cheese and a few toppings.
I can get cheaper mediocre food delivered from somewhere else. I’m sad Tony P’s is so disappointing because I’ve always enjoyed the Pasquini’s restaurants. This food at this location is just underwhelming and not worth the price.

The food is ok. Yes, they have gluten free offerings — not the best in town — the pizza crust is just ok but the toppings were good. The kids like playing with the dough and they do have a yummy drink — crud — can’t recall the name of it, but it’s whisky with iced tea. Oh — and kids eat free on Tuesdays. If the server remembers to take it off your bill.
BUT — the service is always painfully slow. Every time we’ve been in there the service has been so slow I always wonder why I agreed to let myself go back. Probably because friends have suggested we meet there, but I’ll try to convince them to meet across the street at Mici’s.
If the food was outstanding I could tolerate slower service. Snail service on just average food — we wont’ be frequenting this place.

Whoa. I’m not sure why Tony P’s has such a low star rating. After a lunch visit here I was quite pleasantly surprised due to the following:
— Pretty cool décor — the tables, walls, pictures, seats, it’s all coming together to create a fun environment
— Awesome garage doors open to let in the beautiful weather and you can sit on the patio.
— Friendly, prompt service
— Happy hour prices!
— My pizza was actually pretty good. And my side Caesar was gargantuan.
While Tony P’s may not be the first restaurant that comes to mind as my very favorite pizza place I do think it’s much better than the current star rating implies. I’d say it’s more like 3 ½, but I’m rounding up since half stars aren’t allowed.

So let’s say you live in aurora and you’re looking for a good italian joint… or you happen to be in cherry creek and want a good meal, without the the cherry creek price or the hipster/​yuppie douches that fill the area…
Tony P.‘s is your joint! Amazing happy hour prices, 7 days a week. The food is phenomenal and homemade and the décor is so charming. Fugghetaboutit.
The service is meh. My server was kind of an ass and I reflected my distaste for his humor in his TIP.
I will be back, it will be for happy hour. I will eat, drink, and be merry. Capice?!

Finding a reasonably priced restaurant in the upscale Cherry Creek district is tough. But, if you look hard enough, you’ll find that some places actually have reasonably priced foods that are within the budget of the average college student. One such place is Tony P’s.
The way Tony P’s is set up is more like a nice garage than a restaurant. Large doors remain open, allowing access to patios and letting the Colorado sun shine inside. The warm glow illuminates old junkyard windows and doors hanging from the ceiling, as well as tables adorned with old bottle caps.
Once you are seated, expect some buttery breadsticks with chunky marinara sauce to get you started. Take a look at the menu, but keep in mind that Happy Hour, between 4 – 6 p.m. on the weekends and 9 – 11 p.m. during the week, offers $ 1 one-​topping pizza slices.
Extra toppings – and there’s quite a variety – cost a mere dollar extra each. A hefty meal with a drink and breadsticks will only run you $ 6.
Tony P’s offers a wide variety of both whole wheat and gluten free options, and well uses only locally milled organic flour. The whole wheat pizza crust is phenomenal and brings a texture to the pizza that really makes it stand out.
The homemade Grandma Rossi Ravioli ($ 13.99), which comes with a large salad, is a delicious way to experience Its wide variety of high quality ingredients, freshly prepared each day.
Another great deal is the enormous panini sandwich ($ 9.95), served on freshly baked focaccia bread and toasted to perfection. Napolitano-​style pizzas are available for $ 12.95, and are made in a custom wood-​burning oven. When enjoyed with an italian soda ($ 2.95), this will really take you back to the old country.
And with football season back in full swing and its eight flat screen televisions, you are welcome to enjoy the game with some friends and accompany that with a tremendous deal: One-​topping slice of pizza, a PBR, and a premium well shot all for just $ 5. Despite cheap bar prices, everything about Tony P’s is high quality.
Tony P’s offers quality ingredients, great deals, and a laid back atmosphere which make for a winning combination and a really great meal.

Pasquini’s, Tony P’s, whatever they’re calling this place… I dig it. I’ve been here a few times for their happy hour which is awesome. After recently moving to Cherry Creek (from Baker), it was kind of hard to find a place with dirt-​cheap drink specials and a laid-​back atmosphere. Enter Tony P’s. They have something ridiculous like $ 5 pitchers and $ 3 appetizers… right up my alley.
However, I offer this word of CAUTION if you plan on being here any time past 6 p. m, at which time this enchanted place turns into a pumpkin. It might as well be a Chucky Cheese or TGI Fridays there are so many screaming children. Once the clock strikes 6, you can literally see the strollers lining up outside. My husband and I were seated in the bar area and hadn’t even finished our $ 5 happy hour pitcher of Coors Light yet when we became surrounded by a swarm of kids. It. was. awful. But obviously that is something Tony P’s has no control over, so regardless of this unfortunate detail, I still give it four stars and consistently return (although I do set an alarm for 5:45 p.m. so I have ample time to pay the bill and run like the wind before the children’s parade comes to town).

I came here for a fundraiser and thought it was okay. I brought my dog and was seated on the patio and allowed to tie up my dog on the other side. While I was upset that she had to be on the other side, I know that is a state thing, not the restaurant’s fault. The service wasn’t as quick as I had hoped, but the food was good. We ordered garlic breadsticks, which were pretty average, and then a pizza with artichokes and asparagus. The pizza was really good, although I wasn’t a big fan of the crust. It was a nice atmosphere on the patio and the server was nice.
I’d say this place is average.

So sad this is not the same Pasquini’s as the Uptown location. It was one of my favorite places to go for a salad, $ 10 micro pitcher, or calzone. I’m not regularly an order-​er of salads at places, but their dinner salad was so good I actually craved their homemade Italian dressing. So I was really sad when I tried the Cherry Creek location and it just wasn’t the same. I had lunch there several times, which I would have rated 3 stars, but our last dinner here really was disappointing.
I saw their late night happy hour listed, so figured why not? Ordered the eggplant rotoli, and normally I love eggplant. My second bite tasted like dry cat food! (***Not that I’ve ever tried cat food per say… but I sometimes sympathize with my cats «How can you eat that?!» and this is the taste I come up with). $ 1 slices of pizza? How bad can they be?! Cafeteria pizza, that’s how bad. I didn’t finish my slice and I’m an avid pizza lover. Tried the margs and they tasted like the cheap-​o store bought mix, although I could taste alcohol at least.
Service is poor, and takes awhile to get water refills, food, etc… you kind of feel forgotten about. The hostess tried to place us RIGHT in front of the live musician that night (talk about awkward), and appeared annoyed when we requested patio seating. It’s actually kind of cute inside, but I won’t be coming back here. A new Pasquini’s is opening up down the street from me in about a month, and I will definitely give that another shot… but just not this location again.

It’s pretty wild to see all the negative reviews because I had a completely different experience. Then again, I ordered my pizza to go.
From the crust, to the sauce, to the cheese and toppings — all was SUUUPER bomb. When my dude & I are in the area and we’ve got the bucks to spend, we love to stop by Pasquini’s.
I did see a review with a fly tossed in a chick’s salad. So next time, I’ll double check for flies.

I dont get why this place is getting such bad reviews.
a) if you’re from New York and want New York pizza… go to New York. Colorado is not going to give you what you’re looking for in the terms of Pizza.
b) who complains about too much cheese on pizza?
c) Why are you people knocking off stars for kids? They cannot control who comes in there. Get a grip.
I’ve been here twice. Once having the Chicken Parm sandwich — delicious.
Second time I had the lunch salad/​pizza combo. Delicious.
Geeeshh.maybe all of the Cherry Creek snobs are rating this place!

I wish that I could rate with 0 stars. My boyfriend and I love the Pasquini’s on South Broadway and the one located in the Highlands so we were very excited to see one open up close to home! Tonight was our second time going to the Pasquini’s CC location and I have never been so disgusted with a restaurant.
I do not care that the service was a bit slow or that I didn’t see my waitress too much. It was pretty busy for a Monday night.
My boyfriend ordered the Eggplant Parm and I ordered the Rustica Salad.
About half way through our meal I was digging around the bottom of my salad for a piece of cheese when I discovered a fly. A FLY HAD BEEN TOSSED INTO MY SALAD. A large disgusting bug, that looked to have been alive recently was at the BOTTOM of my salad. As my BF put it, «THE FLY WAS DRESSED IN THE SALAD.» The manager was apologetic but failed to impress me with her customer service skills. I understand how hard that situation is to rectify but at least act like you care a little bit and know when to get the heck out of my face.
I have worked in food for almost 7 years and never have I ever seen that! I hope to god the other patrons had salads that did not share the lettuce I ate.
GROSS. DISGUSTING. I will never visit this establishment ever again.

First visit: 6PM on a Tuesday. Packed with kids, sat in the bar area. Pizza was only so-​so, compared to other Pasquini’s (and former Pasqini’s) in town. Service was average. Beer was good.
Second visit: 6PM on a Wednesday. Again packed with kids. Sat on the patio. For 15 minutes. Nobody came to even speak to us. We left without eating. Complained to the manager on the way out and he didn’t seem to care much at all. This place is off my list.

I just had this pizza today… eh, kind of lackluster… average Denver Pizza… The sauce wasn’t very tasty or plentiful… the toppings were on the light side, as well.

Had such high hopes — greatly disappointed.
We are originally from the NYC area, and are accustomed to delicious, well-​made, quality pizza. Since moving here 3 years ago, we’ve been looking for a real place out here that has decent pies. We heard that Pasquinis was it … the closest thing to «true» NY pizza. Sadly, this is absolutely not true.
The first time we tried this place, we were disgusted with the pizza. The dough is not properly seasoned (and too chewy, not crispy) and the sauce tastes like they got it shipped directly from Dominoes. Their breadsticks are drenched in fake, orange butter and come out cold and tough. We decided to try this place a second time — giving it the benefit of the doubt. We decided to order things that were not pizza: I got the sausage sub and my girlfriend the chef salad with meats. The sausage was good, but unfortunately drenched in that awful sauce. The chef salad was merely a plate of iceberg lettuce, a few veggies and a few slices of meat (for $ 9). Needless to say we were disappointed with the food again and will not be coming back.
We were pleased with the service and the prices are not bad. But if you’re looking for pizza in the area, Mici is MUCH better. Save your money and stay away from this place.

The «Chuck E Cheese» of Cherry Creek.
To begin, if you are looking for a good place for a date night or to have a drink — this is not it. If I had to guess, there were approximately 600 kids in there. Everywhere you looked, there were at least 3 – 4 kids per table — not kidding. The tables are very close together, so chances are, you will be seated next to kids. This does not bother some people — I am not one of those people. By the end of the meal, I was sharing my seat with a 4 year old named Trotter who’s mom could care less and I think was relieved that he had joined my table.
Now, on to the service — or lack there of. We went on a Friday night and everybody knows that the thing to do in Cherry Creek on a Friday or Saturday night is eat dinner. This restaurant was not remotely staffed to handle the crowd they had — nor were the servers great to begin with. Our server was handling about 3 – 4 tables and was completely overwhelmed. We waited for everything — drinks, bread, salad, etc. Just awful. No refills on drinks — we weren’t even asked. He was attempting to mult-​task by talking to our table and the one next to us at the same time.
And then there was the food. I am not sure where to begin with this. I guess I will start at the beginning. The first plate of bread that came out was burnt and cold. I cut the roof of my mouth opening trying to bite through it. We did ask for another order and it was much better. On to the salads — we both ordered caesar salads and had to request additional dressing because we weren’t sure they came with any on them. (The Lone Tree and DTC locations have a richer dressing and shaved parmesan — both missing here). We asked for additional dressing, which came out about 15 minutes later (at least salads are served cold — but here, on hot plates). For dinner, I had the Sausage Ricotta Pizza and it was very good. No complaints here. However, my friend had the lasagna and her words «worst lasagna ever.» Biggest complaint — no cheese. Basically, layers of overcooked noodles and a lot of sauce. It was very bland and I think she took about 6 bites before she gave up and ate some of my pizza. (She has had the lasagna at the DTC and Lone Tree locations and said both were excellent and she never had leftovers).
Sooooo…in conclusion, we will not be returning. With so many other locations to pick from, there is no reason. Maybe they are just getting through that «just opened’ hump but it just left an awful taste in our mouth. Definitely not a recommendation I will be making to anyone.

I was very happy to see Pasquinis had opened a Cherry Creek location because I can walk there. I have been away from Denver for 10 years and always had good memories of eating at the Broadway and Uptown locations. What a disappointment this was. My friend and I went to lunch here yesterday. The service was very friendly and the décor is pleasant. I was so happy. Our server was very courteous and smiley, which always makes me rate a place a little higher. However, my order was wrong so I had to wait another 10 minutes for the correct order. No biggie, we weren’t in a hurry and the bread with marinara sauce was good.
My friend ordered the 5″ italian sub, and was very disappointed to receive what he said was a flavorless piece of cheese and one piece of meat on a flattened piece of bread. The entire plate was incongruously covered with arugula. My eggplant parmesan was possibly even worse. If I hadn’t ordered it I would have had no idea that’s what it was. There didn’t seem to be any eggplant… just breading inside of bread, covered in melted provolone, a couple of mushrooms, and sauce.
I will go back just to make sure this wasn’t a fluke, but it had to be one of the worst meals I’ve ever had.

NOT THE SAME PIZZA AS THE UPTOWN LOCATION!
It is with such a heavy heart I have to rate this place 1 star. I have been a LONG LONG LONG time lover of the Pasquini’s Uptown location. I mean, we’re talking over 5 years. It’s been a ritual of mine to order the chopped italian salad for most Sundays. With my boyfriend moving in, that order has turned into a chopped italian salad and a pepperoni pizza… yea, we like to eat. He quickly fell in love with the food as well. This past January, we ordered our usual and were very surprised when we opened up the Pasquini’s box to find an entirely different pizza… it was shortly there after we had learned that the Uptown location had closed and they had moved to Cherry Creek. Needless to say, we were disappointed.
Luckily, we received a voice call from the manager saying that they valued our business and notified us of their new location in Cherry Creek.
Fast forward to tonight…
I called the new location so excited to order our usual (it’s been several weeks since we had it). Much to my luck, they said they would still deliver. I ordered our pepperoni pizza and chopped italian salad with only the pepperoni and salami for meats — not a big fan of copicola.
What arrived, however, was the same «different» pizza as before. Not that it’s totally horrible, but it’s not the Pasquini’s quality we had come to love. And for my chopped Italian salad — i received iceberg lettuce and capicola. That’s it. just lettuce and fatty meat. no veggies, cheese, nothing! I called to let them know i didn’t get the right salad and after an extrememly confusing conversation with the lady who answered, they said they would credit me for it. Really the only good thing was the driver — super friendly and fast.
For $ 33 we could have driven to the Highlands location, had a delicious pizza, got the right salad, and had some drinks as well. And next time that’s exactly what we’ll do.
Good bye Uptown Pasquini’s — you have no idea how much you’ll be missed.
