Sol Shine is a hybrid trifecta concept created by Dannie Huggins. Frustrated by the lack of environmental ethics in fashion, Dannie sought to create a store that supports designers and producers who create apparel and accessories from organic, sustainable, and/​or recycled materials and those who use Fair Trade, Global Organic Textile Standard practices and/​or who produce items in the United States.

You will find a huge selection of healing stones, salt lamps, sage, and other cool gift ideas at Sol Shine, as well as a wide range of accessories that are made locally with love! We also carry 18 – 24 artists through the space each month so if you are looking for some sweet local art, Sol Shine is a must stop for some serious eye candy!

Every THIRD Saturday of the month the Art Gallery holds an opening reception for the featured artists from 5−8PM. You will enjoy a wide range or local talent, LIVE paintings, DJ spinning the good tunes, and FREE cocktails for those of age– and yes we card everyone!

And to top off the awesome, you must visit our OM-​azing urban sanctuary for a yoga class or to try Qigong. Classes are ONLY $ 15 for drop-​in and our auto-​monthly memberships are only $ 89.99 a month. Check out the yoga studio tab for more information.

History

Established in 2012.

Sol Shine was started by Dannie Huggins in November 2012. She has always had a passion for making a difference on the planet and through her travels and life experiences she knew she could do this with art and fashion. The items that are carried in Sol Shine are Eco-​Friendly, Fair-​Trade, Organic, and or made here in the USA! Dannie does her duel diligence to make sure each items is under this umbrella to help make it easier on the community with their carbon foot print!

Sol Shine is a hybrid boutique with an art gallery. Being an artist herself, Dannie wanted to integrate art and fashion in a new way. Every month Sol Shine holds First Saturday Events from 5−8PM which is open to the public. There is cheese, wine, eco-​lightened fashion, and brilliant visual stimulation that sets you with the good vibration.

Business Owner

Born in Lufkin, Texas, Dannie Huggins moved to Denver when she was 3 years old. She was raised partially raised and mostly influenced by her late grandfather Bennett Shotwell. He taught her many things and to SHINE in who she is as an individual.

Dannie has been deeply inspired by her worldly travels to help save the planet through choices in fashion. She believes that collectively, though our choices in what we wear, we can deeply impact the planet in a positive way. Her contribution to doing good on the planet is through Sol Shine and deeply hopes to inspire others to do the same!

Terrible return policy (7 days in store credit) — be careful what you buy. Certainly don’t buy someone a gift. Always pushing their yoga classes down your throat too. Won’t be shopping here any more.

Very cute shop! I was pleased upon entering to see that they carry a very good variety of items. From clothes to jewelry to hand crafted souvenirs, there is something for everyone here. The employee that was working was very nice and showed us some items based on our interests. I liked the hippie atmosphere in here. Check it out if you are in the area!

Sol Shine is such a fun addition to the LoHi neighborhood. Dannie always carries great gift ideas, locally-​made Colorado products, and women’s leisure wear. I have been in several times and the store always displays artwork from local artists. I’m not an art connoisseur, but I have been very impressed with what I have seen hanging on the walls at Sol Shine.
Sol Shine also has a yoga studio on site! I’ve attended classes there several times and have been very happy with the quality of the instructors.
Dannie’s boutique is a great addition to the LoHi neighborhood and I would recommend you check it out!

If I could find time each day to hang out in this store, I would.
The art is on point, and the eco-​friendly merchandise has a stylish and comfy yet affordable theme (also, some of the jewelry is gorgeous, especially if you are into stones!). The owner always greets me with a huge, warm smile — she’s super cool. I have done a lot of yoga at different studios throughout the country, and the yoga teachers I have practiced with at Sol Shine are each different but very talented in their own unique way!
I only wish that parking near you was easier, Sol Shine! Pro tip: driving down Umatilla St. or 28th will get you a convenient spot 9⁄10 times.

This place is wonderful, and I do mean wonderful, it’s one of those places that you really don’t want to tell anybody about, but you simply have to because not telling someone about it would be selfish, I think the independent artist who have their stuff on display really make this shop simply unique as well as the proprietor she is one of the most down-​to-​earth people you will ever meet

I have been in this store several times, each time the staff is completely unwelcoming and unhelpful. Last month i stopped in for and event I had received an email about, I had road my bike since i live in the area. There were no places to lock up my bike outside so i simply asked if i could leave it parked in the front. The girls snarked at me and said in a very rude voice «I guess». I left immediately. I had full intentions of purchasing a few Spiritual Gangster shirts, but would rather buy online then support this store. On another occasion I was interested in purchasing a necklace and no one in the store could find the price. They were also more concerned with talking to each other then helping a customer. I left without anyone even giving me the price. In addition all of their merchandise are things you can buy online. I have even noticed that items are online through the manufactures on sale and Sol Shine still tried to list them for full price. When I asked about this, I was again treated with rudeness and extreem lack of customer service. As someone who really tries to shop and support local, I am really let down by this store. With a name like Sol Shine you would think they would exhibit a Zen and Peaceful shopping experience. My advice. Go shop somewhere else.

Absolutely love this store and the beautiful owner! The clothing is beautiful and the jewelry is so unique! I bought a large painting on one of their Art party’s for my bedroom and it’s stunning! I take all of my out of town friends to her store. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for some unique and nicely made clothing, jewelry or art.

I visited Denver about a month ago and forgot to write this review! I walked in here on a whim and was instantly captivated. It was during an art show they were having and there was a sale on many items.
I ended up meeting the owner and she helped me shop – she picked up on my style immediately and I had a ball. I’ve never felt so good about spending money on clothing.
I bought jewelry (local and handmade of course) and clothing and always get compliments on the items I wear form Sol Shine. I also get to feel good about buying earth-​friendly clothing. Usually one would expect it to be expensive but it wasn’t! I’m telling you, check this out!

My wife and I were visiting Denver and wandered in to Sol Shine while exploring the LoHi neighborhood after dinner. What a cool store with a warm, wonderful owner (Dannie H.).
It’s amazing the variety of merchandise Dannie has comfortably packed into this relatively small store. Women’s and men’s clothes from dressy to super-​casual and at many different price points. Wonderful bags; cool jewelry; really interesting artwork (by Dannie herself) on the walls.
The items are eco-​friendly and fair trade yet very stylish. My wife bought an incredibly stylish/​funky bag made out or recycled screens (weird-​sounding, I know, but it is the coolest thing ever) at a reasonable price. She also bought this skirt that I never want her to take off – well, that’s not exactly true (insert salacious wink). I got this really soft tee shirt in a greenish/​brown color I’ve never seen before and some very hip shorts.
As great as this store is, the best part of it is Dannie. She is so into the business, so friendly and genuinely warm to all of the customers – even those who clearly have no interest in buying.
You should check it out if you are looking for a unique place with cool people. (Adam is really nice, too).

Just discovered this boutique recently. and keep going back. definitely lo-Hi’s best kept secret. The store offers everything from clothes, gifts, art and accessories. I have thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience every time I go there (which has been often lately) and the Eco-​conscious theme is both educational, interesting and inspiring. I definitely recommend Sol shine to anyone looking to step out of the box and support mother earth through fashion. This is a fantastic little boutique with a friendly neighborhood feel. I went in here looking for a gift for my wife and was pleasantly surprised, as I’ve had too many experiences with overpriced, pretentious, and uninteresting stores in the past. It has a great selection of fair-​trade and hand-​made things in a variety of styles. There’s plenty of really unique and interesting jewelry and accessories from local designers. Best of all, their prices vary quite a bit. Regardless of the size of your wallet, you can probably find something nice here. The owner is friendly and helpful, and I’ll definitely take a trip back here when another birthday rolls around.

Sol Shine is a great retail addition to LoHi. The store has a warm vibe;. when you walk in the staff is friendly and helpful, not snobby like it tends to trend in this neighborhood. It is sometimes easy to overlook because of it’s basement location (in the brick building on the NE corner of the 5-​way intersection Of 15th/​Umatilla/​29th) but the recent addition of outside signage helps a lot.
There are a lot of eclectic items here and the price point is excellent. The store carries everything from handbags, yoga clothing, t-​shirts jeans, and jewelry, as well as some quirky home items. Everything is extremely reasonably priced! The best part about the clothing is that it is ALL MADE IN THE USA. How cool is that? I don’t know any other place in Denver you can find clothing made in the US that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. They also have men’s cotton tees (made in the USA) for $ 20 bucks which will hopefully convince my boyfriend that he can indeed replace some of his tees with holes in them.
As a side note, my personal favorite items in the store my first visit was the jewelry.
