The Oxford Hotel

Loved my stay a the Oxford Hotel. It was 5 stars all around! The Cadillac and Tesla car service was such a nice treat (thanks to Rick and Andy), the staff at the front desk were super super super helpful. I asked for a higher floor and ended up in a beautiful room with high ceilings, a huge and supremely comfortable king size bed, with a view looking out to the cool historic buildings including Union Station. I would stay here every time I visit Denver — it has character, class and comfort!

That’s the Oxford in a nutshell. We stayed here on our wedding night and could not have been happier. They gave us free drink tickets to the Cruise Room. The bellhop ran to 7 – 11 to get us Advil. Room service came up to our room so that I could break a $ 20 bill. Seriously, they make you feel like the most important guest there.
Rooms have the classical elegance that just feels special with its historical charm. I just wish they had a better restaurant providing the food (McCormick & Schmick’s — was ok, but not great), though it was fun having the breakfast in bed package.
Whether it’s a special occasion or you’re visiting and want something a bit more special, I highly recommend the Oxford. Not cheap by any means, but compared to some other high-​end hotels downtown, I have to say this is well worth it.

The Oxford is easily one of the best hotels that I’ve booked.
First: the staff is EXEMPLARY. They took an already-​amazing stay and made it stellar. Every single staff member was friendly, courteous, had great suggestions for local sights/​eateries, and many knew my name and room number by heart whenever I needed anything.
Next, the room: Our room was very spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was large, the two sinks were a huge plus, the shower was roomy, and the claw foot bathtub was charming. Temperature was easy to control and water bottles were restocked daily (on top of the staff offering us water bottles every time they brought our car around).
The amenities: free hotel car service to and from the hotel within a two-​mile radius, free drink at their evening bourbon bar, use of a classic typewriter and free mailing, discounts at nearby eateries, and more.
The location was also perfect. Walking distance to Coors Field, Union Station, 16^th Street walking mall, and historic Larimer Square. Also not too far from the Pepsi Center.
I highly recommend this hotel, especially to those visiting Denver for the first time.

We stayed at the Oxford Hotel in November. When we got there, they were kind enough to put us in the Presidents Suit. We were more than thrilled! The room was amazing and the view was lovely. The beds were comfy and the rooms were warm. They had a business center in the hotel where we printed our boarding passes for free. The hotel is a gem! It holds a charm of old school hotels while having the modern comforts you would want.
The location was key for us. We went to Mile High Stadium to see the Broncos defeat the patriots and though they did not offer any stadium services we were able to walk and enjoy the city. They do offer an express taxi service which is much faster than a normal taxi cab call (which could take a few hours).
By the way parking is $ 40 a night. We didn’t drive but our friends who stayed too had.

This is apparently the oldest hotel in Denver. I love this place. The building is small, but spacious. The rooms are dark, but classy. And the bar downstairs is straight out of a horror movie.. .in a good way. Oh, and I’m pretty sure this hotel is haunted.

One of the best hotel experiences ever. A truly grand old hotel with service that also harkens back to a golden age. A very comfortable and convenient step back in time. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates history and architecture AND pampering service.

The absolute best experience I have ever had at a hotel. We stayed at the oxford after our wedding night so figured it would be great to go there for our first wedding anniversary. Check in was easy and we told them it was our anniversary. After we got to our room, there was a knock at the door. They brought us vouchers for champagne and desserts at the restaurant 10 below! Comfy, the service was AMAZING, and oh did I mention how great the service was? We felt so special and left so happy. I have honestly never had that great of service in my life. Everyone was friendly and so helpful. Thank you Oxford for making our first anniversary truly memorable!

Looking for a unique hotel that feels as though you are stepping back into 1800’s with all of the modern conveniences and comfort, then this is the place. Fantastic! Steps away from Union Station, 1 block from 16^th Street Mall. Connected to McCormick & Schmick’s Restaurant… Best happy hour.
Comfortable rooms, complimentary bourbon or whiskey afternoon cocktail. Cool.

Customer service= 5 stars!
From the moment we drove up to the Oxford, it was nothing but outstanding service. They really go above and beyond to please their guests. When I called the valet to leave for the airport, the valet guy ran to go get our car, even when we weren’t in a huge rush! He even took our trash (mind you I had a coffee cup still full of stale old coffee) and threw it away for us in the hotel since there was no trashcans nearby. That’s what I call service.
The front desk employees were thorough in explaining how the key system works and gave us great suggestions on things to do in the area. It also helps that you’re surrounded in a gorgeous historical building. For such an old building, I was surprised at how private the rooms felt, you don’t hear too much from your neighbors through the walls.
And…Free Wi-​Fi!

This is a really great old hotel. You feel like you are stepping back in history, but without the decay and some nice modern touches.
The rooms are small, but they are comfortable.
The hotel is located close to just about anything you want to see in Denver. Most stuff was a 5 to 10 minute walk, but they have a courtesy car that took us to where we needed to go and picked us up again.
The service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We even got to do the new bourbon tasting in the lobby.
This is worth the price of admission.

Charming old hotel and it stops there. Not the place to have a decent size meeting. They ran out of food at breakfast lunch and breaks. They ran out of drinks, water, coffee etc. at breakfast, lunch and break. They don’t even put out serving items with berries and veggies.
The bathroom is tattered, they don’t service the tables at breaks, and you can’t find anyone around. Very underwhelmed.

Blast from the past. Actual room keys. Doormen. Bourbon tasting. The location across from union station is ideal. There’s car service (Escalade) within 2 mile radius. Free wifi. Bose speaker system in room. Downside to being the oldest Denver hotel, was the odor in the room. Sort of a musty old anything smell. But I still enjoyed the boutique hotel and the unique experiences. The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful. Theres parking at 1660 Wynkoop for 15 $ just a few blocks from hotel if you’d rather not pay to valet.

Great location with old world charm & very nice staff, right down the street from Union Station, but it’s time for a major overhaul. You will not find the modern conveniences here, such as an in-​room minibar, fridge, microwave; not even an ice bucket. Rooms are very small for a very high price, unless you opt to upgrade to a junior suite, with old antiques that frankly just don’t work well anymore and need to go. An updated antique-​look would serve this establishment and it’s guests much better. And, don’t plan on staying in your room… the mattresses are worn out, the pillows limp, and the TV is just that — a small 32 inch with a few channels, no HD, and no pay-​for-​view. And, even though there is AC, it does not work well. I had to keep the AC fan running all night just to keep the room semi-​cool & block out the street noise. Our room was also stuffy, with huge, thick (dust-​trap) drapes covering the noisy windows and I kept sneezing. As well, I’m always leery of hotels that allow pets for just that reason. Room service food was good, but the bar food & service was just OK. So, there you are… if there’s a must reason you need to be in this area, then you might want to check into The Oxford, but for us, we won’t be back. There are way too many better options in town at a $ 300+ per night rate. The Oxford has a great history, but as we all know, nothing lasts forever.

Exemplary service! All the hotel staff went out of their way to assist us with all our requests in a friendly and engaging way. They truly exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the hotel’s location near the New Union Station, the comfortable lobby, and Cruise Room Cocktail Lounge (when it wasn’t too busy.)
Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience at their McCormick’s restaurant for breakfast. We would NOT eat there again (see that review for details.)

Decided on Denver, CO for our mini-​moon and the experience was one we’ll never forget! Namely, because of the Oxford Hotel.
When you first walk in, you feel as if you’ve stepped into a time machine and transported back to the 1900s. Bell man dressed in proper garb, Art Deco/​old world glamour décor, and tasseled, metal keys to the room.
Taking advantage of our newlywed status, we got an upgrade to a suite with a claw foot bathtub. This was such a nice touch!
They also have a complimentary black Escalade to take you anywhere within a 2 mile radius. Being two youngins who enjoy adventure and alcohol, we took advantage of this!
The bell man are the best! During the day, Stewart always had a smile on his face, and was always willing to give us suggestions on where to eat. But by far, the best bell man was at night, Nick. He gave us recs for the best places to eat, drink, and more ;). We had some snacks in our car that he dropped off in our room for us, and he even had a mini-​fridge placed in there when he noticed we had some perishables.
This was our first trip to Denver, CO. And we definitely want to come back since we had such a great experience!

Fantastic hotel. Absolutely beautiful vintage décor throughout the hotel lobby, halls, and room. Friendly service. A wonderful, romantic experience.

Just stayed at the Oxford again this week. Again the staff is extraordinary and super friendly. This time we were given an upgrade to a junior suite room. That was exciting because the last room we stayed in was a little small. This was a way better experience. The junior suite was larger and the temperature stayed cool the way I like it. I was happy that room wasn’t too hot like the last time we stayed there. The bed was really comfy and the room was furnished with antiques. The bathroom had a huge deep tub and I just had to take a bath– the highlight of my evening. I’ve missed a huge bathtub.
I love the location and we walked around Union Station and had a great night out in the city. The gym again is wonderful and I love the new Elliptical that you can hike in New Zealand or Yosemite. The equipment is newer and the gym is better than most hotel gyms. I love that perk at The Oxford. The lobby is nice with a real wood burning fireplace — I would love to sit there for hours as the fire crackles and invites you into the lobby. It was snowing and a real wood burning fire is so welcoming.
We had a wonderful evening and enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Almost don’t want to write a review as hotel will be overbooked! Best hotel in denver. Ambience, hospitality, comfortable rooms, great beds, awesome restaurants, cruise bar, and lots of amenities.

WOW! I loved this place. I travel frequently for work. Perfect location. Easy to get to
by the local bus from the airport. Great restaurants nearby. I love Charlie the canary in the lobby, hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was beautiful and spacious.
Here is the problem for me-I’m a light sleeper. As an antique hotel, the windows are thin and I could hear people below my window in the street. My room was above the corner of the restaurant and people were chatting loudly while out for a smoke. It was late and that was irritating. Then around 2am, other guests were talking loudly in the hall way on the way to their room. Very disrespectful but it’s problematic because the doors are old fashioned and you don’t get a hermetically sealed room like in big modern hotels. So thank goodness for ear plugs but it was not a perfect fix.
When I mentioned this to another person at checkout, they told me not to stay on the second floor., (in the future!). Wish the guy that checked me in would’ve told me that when I told him I needed a quiet room. Price was $ 180/​mid week.
There are also many sitting areas, little reading nooks, a fireplace in the lobby, business center with computer and printer, with a great seating area if you want to have coffee.
I would definitely stay here again. I thought it was wonderful and very beautiful. Staff was super helpful especially the concierge guys.

What a gem this is! Checking into the Oxford is akin to stepping back in time, from the doormen garbed in black overcoats and hats to the real wood-​burning fireplace in the lobby to the antique furnishings in the guest rooms — absolutely stunning.
Service was top notch throughout my two-​night stay. One cool feature is the option to leave your key, complete with tassle, at the front desk. Nice touch!
The location is optimal, within an easy walk of the plethora of bars and restaurants in the LoDo area and just a short less-​than-​a-​block walk to Union Station.
The Oxford is reportedly haunted. Although I had no spiritesque visitors, my door knob did rattle a few times this morning; I heard it and I saw it. Wooooooooo!
As my new employer is headquartered in LoDo, I will be back!
