First bar I was in, in Denver. Absolutely loved it. Everything a dive bar should be, and more!

The Nob Hill is the heart of Denver’s dive bar counter culture and a place that serves shots and beer. This quintessential stop is a first ballot, hall of fame, shit box worthy of every moment of revelry you can muster. Food: Frozen Pizza and Microwave Popcorn Special Drink: PBR and a shot of Jameson The occasional pussy will come in and order something like a Manhattan, don’t be that pussy. If you can’t have fun here, you’re likely already dead. To the Nob!

If you’re hoping for a dive bar, Nob Hill may be the spot for you. It’s located on a sorta seedy stretch of Colfax. The inside is dimly lit and a steady stream of throwback jams are playing, and there are always plenty of bar stools and booths free. Drinks are pretty strong. My only(but big) complaint? They charge for water! Yup. For paying customers. I was here last weekend with a bunch of friends for a birthday, and we were ordering PLENTY of drinks. We had ordered rounds of shots, plus everyone except for our designated driver was also sipping a beer or mixed drink. When I went up to the bar and ordered a vodka soda + a separate glass of water, the bartender charged me $ 1 for a «glass fee.» When I explained I was ordering the water for my friend who was my designated driver, the bartender did not budge. She was insistent that they don’t give anyone a free glass of tap water, even a designated driver… I have to say, I find this really disappointing. We dropped plenty of money to this bar over the course of the evening for the array of drinks we purchased, so for our designated drivers to have to pay for a glass of tap water seems ridiculous, and seems to actually discourage designated driving.

A top notch Dive Bar! Yes thats an oxymoron. You walk in and you feel like your back in the 60’s/70’s, you will serisouly love the locals who live on thier barstools. Great jukebox, decent bathrooms and cheap and easy cocktails. Its a must stop if your on colfax doing the colfax crawl. Such a fun and easy going place

Oh, Nob Hill. You are such a Colfax dive bar. And if you go expecting more, you’ll be disappointed. I have spent many a drunken Friday night here… if you make it inside without being slightly harassed by homeless folk on the street, consider it a win. The layout is tough. There is a bar in the middle of the space with some booths throughout. If you have a large group, it’s tough. This spot is great for 4ish people. Here’s the deal: you can count on stiff drinks at a reasonable price. That said, I was super bummed with my experience last weekend. Yes, it’s divey. So I won’t fault it on ambiance. But I was there with a huge group for a friend’s birthday. And I happened to not be drinking. While everyone else in my group was drinking at least one drink, I went up to get some waters for myself and a friend. To be fair, the bartender told me she’d have to charge me since I wasn’t getting any alcohol. I mentioned that everyone I was with was drinking(including my husband who had just bought a round). She said she could only give one water per drink when you were buying. So I was charged for water. TWOBUCKS a glass. Wtf. I get it. You don’t go to Nob Hill to drink water. But that’s stingy. I did, however, enjoy playing darts. Ask the bartender for the darts, as they aren’t left out in the open. Beware that they are not in the best of shape, and we had a heck of a time getting them to stick in the dartboard. Nob Hill, I will be back. But I’m just hoping to relive the good memories of this place. You can do better.

I like Nob Hill, but only for certain times. It is a DIVE bar, and if that is what you are going for, it is great. Depending on who is running the juke box, it can have some great throw-back music and usually has an all around good vibe. The new automated darts board is pretty fun… I enjoyed the fact that even though my dart bounced off, it counted!(I guess if you are an experienced and serious darts player though, this might not be a good thing…) Friendly bartenders, cheap drinks, fun dive vibe. Great spot… if you are there with a smaller group. I hate going there with a big group because the physical layout of the space is hard to chat with a bunch of people at once and you inevitably end up getting split among the room and in different booths. Still fun, just something to consider!

Glad I found this watering hole. A real establishment where you can put your elbows on the bar and drink cheap beer with your buds. Plenty of good folk to shoot the shit with, and the bartenders are certainly savvy.

I love the Nob but they have a daytime bartender Patrick, who is absolutely rude and surly. He will ruin your good time. The rest of the crew is fabulous. Avoid going there on weds, third, and Saturdays. I got screamed at for telling him to smile and cheer up. WTF?

This is a dive. For real. And not a dive that became a cool dive overrun by frat boys and other non-desirables. This awesome place has a great Jukebox selection, crackheads trying to bum cigarettes or dollas from you if you step outside, and if you’re lucky the regulars Candy and Sandy.(I think.) 70 year old twin sisters who park their Rascal scooters in the bar. Seriously. Ask them about when lightning struck the church spire across the street and crumbled into Colfax.

The people who voted this bar the«Best Dive Bar in Denver» must of been the people who work there. The bar is good and the bartender is very good, the problem is with the person who man’s the door on the weekend. He is a prick, and a total asshole. You could not pay me enough money to return to this bar.

The Nob Hill Inn is a DIVEBAR. If you’re looking for a reference point to DIVEBARS, this is where you start. The five star rating is specifically for an unapologetic DIVEBAR in the area of Denver on Colfax in the area where you would exactly expect it. Seriously, if you’re rating a DIVEBAR, you can’t issue any stars at all until you come here. I’ve been here at least dozens of times in the last five years. During those visits, at least half of my conversations around the bar(it’s REALLY good for that) have been with ex-cons(released that day) or black market pot dealers getting their drink on. The bartenders are smart about kicking out blackouts, and serve a smart shot /beer. Get yourself a PB&J(PBR& Jamo) for a cheap tasty buzz. They even have a banner proclaiming their«Best Dive Bar in Denver» status, half falling off(from several years ago) above the entry. It remains the best. There are many, but this one is stumbling distance to my house, therefore it is mine.

The epicenter of crazy on Colfax and my favorite bar in town. The Nob is simply a bar, lacking in all pretension and fanfare. The crowd is interesting, the art terrible, the alcohol affordable and the overall experience variable, but I always enjoy it. I did enjoy it more before they replaced one of the most interesting jukeboxes in town with a typical digital piece of shit. This is unfortunate and it stings every time I walk in and hear Kid Rock or Toto’s Africa for the thousandth time, but it won’t stop me from coming. Enjoy your beer and tip well.

Fun little dive bar on Colfax. The first couple times I drove past this place I legitimately thought it was a hotel. The front door is really discreet, and when you walk in, you’ll be greater by a dimly lit room with a circular bar and furniture with red upholstery. Definitely a lot of weird people there. One guy bought the entire bar a round of drinks, granted there were only about 6 of us in there total, but that was kind of cool. They only have a couple beers on tap, and they do not have ginger beer to make a Moscow Mule. Anyway, it’s just an old, grungy, but cool dive bar. If you like that scene, you’ll love it here.

Cheap drinks, dim lighting, fun jukebox, super friendly bartenders, and lots of weirdos — this place is a goldmine! Dive bars are my personal fav and this one is THEBEST. Straight out of the dirty soul of Colfax, one room with one circular bar. Obviously if you’re more into grinding on a dance floor to house music, this is NOT going to be your scene, And if you’re going to get all uppity because the bathroom is kinda weird and there’s a homeless guy sitting at the bar, please don’t come. But if you’re into incredibly entertaining people-watching and $ 2.50 drinks — welcome home! Bonus points for the bartender remembering my name after just one weekend. Also, there’s a secret parking lot out back that has like 5 spots.

By far the best dive bar on Colfax. Great eclectic crowd ranging from the burned out to fresh young people just enjoying a drink. All of the staff are professional and friendly. They will remember you when you come back a second time and treat you like a celebrity. If you’re lucky, a Charles Bukowski like drunk might do a bar trick for you: pick a number between one and a 100. I love this place!

Still a Dive in the midst of the great Dive die-out. No frills and even less bullshit. You can get a solid Manhattan from Christy if you ask nicely. The Juke is solid for a bar circa 1975, could use a fresh run through. The one thing that may irk is the crush of hipsters that infest this once august establishment(sarcasm) during the weekend nights. Goddamn travesty, good for the bartender. Make that money!!!

I LOVE Nob Hill, it’s the epitome of a dive bar so the following shouldn’t be considered cons, but they are. It’s usually full of homeless or close to homeless people and/or creepers who are too drunk to form a sentence. Go with a group and try to avoid the random people who are in the bar, and you’ll have a great time. The bartender is a masterpiece, I adore her, as she is friendly and attentive. But sometimes you want to just get out and not have to watch your back, and I dont think nob hill is the kind of place you can TRULY relax.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for over a year now, but always walked by this place, although I’m usually attracted to dive bars. Weird. Anyways, my co-workers wanted to go out for happy hour after work one day, and we decided to come here. WEHAD A BLAST. Eclectic people, great jukebox, heavy drinks, lovely service, and awesome prices. I don’t think I’ve ever met as many people in one day/night of drinking than I did here. Everybody is just so sweet and friendly — I went from having a conversation about flowers and gardening to a conversation about the mysterious S.T.D., «blue waffle» — and, if you don’t know what that is, look it up. I’ll definitely be back to drink and, hopefully, have some entertaining conversations! My tip: Two-fer happy hour. Sweet locals and great service. Super trash-tastic, hideous paintings hanging about.

Dives are fun every now and then. actually, they are fun all the time. The Nob really takes the fun dive to a new level. The characters that come in here are a blast. Old dudes with wild stories, rowdy 20-somethings, crazy older women, and more… The jukebox is even a little crazy — it has the ghostbusters them song on it! Combine this with crazy cheap drinks and bartenders that are quite the characters themselves… you are in for an awesome night. Oh, THEYACCEPTCREDITCARDSNOW! $ 10 minimum if I remember correctly.

GODALMIGHTY what a DIVE!!! I was looking to do some trashy day-drinking along Colfax and The Nob Hill Inn was the APEX of trashiness and fit the bill with what I was hoping to accomplish: –Old School cash register(they are cash only) –Awesome jukebox –A crowd of old foul-mouthed loud talking conservative men who’ve had rough lives and love to relive over a PBR –A tough old broad of a bartender who will not hesitate to throw out panhandlers who walk in and pester the patrons for cash –A few tough broads who have been around the block more times than they can count As if that wasn’t plenty to make for a fun, colorful afternoon one gal had her lab/boarder collie in the bar sitting on a stool drinking bud light from a bowl. She assured me that«Sadie» only has a little and only while at the bar. I dared not bring up anything along the lines of animal cruelty because I’m sure I too would have been thrown out and then had my ass kicked. It still got better when a couple came in pushing a baby stroller… YESTHEYBROUGHT A BABYINTOTHEBAR!!! While the husband settled into one of the old school red leather booths, the wife ordered two beers at the bar. This was a crappy, shit hole ROCK bottom of the barrel good time. 24 hours later I am still saying to myself«Holy SHIT, how in the HELL did I wind up there???» GOODEM-EFFIN’ time!!!
