Description

Specialties

We’re a local, independently owned café in the heart of Lower Downtown Denver, specializing in prepared deli foods, gourmet sandwiches made to order, a full coffee and espresso bar and gourmet grocery items.

History

Established in 1983.

Since 1983 Mark and Gary Greenberg transformed a fledgling grocery into Denver’s most recognizable deli and espresso bar. Our prolonged success of the business is directly attributed to the brothers’ emphasis on freshly prepared foods made and served on the premises as well as the preservation of the locally-owned downtown grocer and local meeting place atmosphere.

Housed in the Historic District of Larimer square in the Gallup-Stanbury Building built in 1873, we have tried to mixed the old and the new into one spot that appeals from college students, professors, business people, locals and tourists.

Meet the Business Owner

Mark G.

Business Owner

Mark has owned The Market since taking over the grocery store that was housed here with his brother, Gary in 1983. He has passion for his job, and loves coming to work when he’s not out on the golf course. He has a wife, Andrea, who co-owns the store with him now, and two beautiful girls who still live in the area visit the shop on occasion.
