The Epworth Foundation – Bruce Randolph Thankgiving Feasts

I spent a very chilly but soul warming night last night helping to assemble 5000 COMPLETE Thanksgiving Feasts for the Denver poor living in our midst. The Walmart teams who volunteered their time, energies, equipment, and good spirits last night made it all happen sooo smoothly and efficiently, I showed up just to help after hearing about this on Channel 9 NBC local news. As of today 9am (6am start), those meals are now hand delivered by the greater Denver taxi fleets and volunteer fleets of Denver area citizens. It is estimated that 30 – 35 000 individual people or individual meals will be provided from these complete Thanksgiving meals, inclusive of a whole turkey to be cooked at home, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberries, corn, green beans, yellow cake, and yams! The Epworth Foundation oversees the effort, and is doing the work of angels here on Earth. ~90% of donated funds go towards food purchase. Both funds and volunteers are in great need, please mark your calendars annually to volunteer the Friday night ~8pm before every Thanksgiving, and try to provide funds too. I was totally impressed by the effort, and the result. I’m on board, I will be hard selling this to my family, friends, and neighbors from here on out. Daddy Bruce is definitely smiling, I’m certain that if all Denver knew about this food drive, a much bigger result could be expected. I challenge Denver area to contribute and contribute mightily.
