Specialties
The Berkshire, located in Denver, CO on Stapleton’s main drag, serves fresh and inventive dishes centered around pork and bacon. In a location heavily populated with chains, this family-owned restaurant serves unique meals from scratch in a casual and trendy environment. Some popular meals include our bacon plate and pork tenderloin which is served with house made bacon jam and roasted cauliflower. While the dishes represent American cuisine – heavy on the pig – The Berkshire does serve lighter fare as well as vegetarian dishes.
In addition to serving up heaping portions of pig, we also take pride in our creative cocktails. We have a fully stocked bar and draft beers, insuring you will find the perfect drink to accompany your porky dish. The Berkshire hosts weekly drink specials and happy hours, giving you a reason to celebrate any day of the week!
The Berkshire is a great place for parties and corporate events. Our «Pig Pen» is a full private dining room that seats up to 40 guests in a warm and inviting atmosphere. «The Pigs Stye», a semi-private area, is also available for booking and seats up to 18 guests, or has standing room for 25 guests.
Whether you are hosting an event, or just wanting to celebrate with a group of friends because it’s Wednesday and you’re craving bacon, stop by The Berkshire and let us show you just how much we love pig!
History
Established in 2007.
The Berkshire has been serving Denver dishes of pork and bacon since December 2007.
Owner Andy Ganick was raised Jewish and always had a great love of bacon. His love of pig, coupled with his invaluable years in the food and alcohol industry, drove him to create an upscale/casual american restaurant devoted to serving seasonal dishes centered on the succulent swine he always loved.
With seven years of successfully impressing the Denver community, The Berkshire looks forward to showing you just how delicious and inspiring bacon can be!
Meet the Business Owner
Andy G.
Business Owner
Andy Ganick dreamt of a pig-centric eatery for many years and invented the menu during a road trip along with college buddy, Soupy. This menu, jokingly transcribed on a collection of gas station napkins, would later serve as the basis for The Berkshire many years later.
With the notion of restaurant-ownership in the back of his mind, Ganick put together a business plan and got the experience he needed to open his own place. Here he managed The Continental Mid-town, a five-story club/lounge, worked on to opening of Cantina Los Caballitos and bartended at Amada, owned by famed chef Jose Garces. Armed with a newfound passion for food and wine and a well-rounded knowledge of the restaurant industry, Ganick dove headfirst to bring The Berkshire to fruition.
Named for a rare breed of heritage pig, The Berkshire is a neighborhood eatery serving refined comfort food. Andy Ganick invites everyone in the Denver area to come enjoy a pig-plentiful plate at The Berkshire!
