Suncrest Home Health and Hospice

I own two small assisted livings in the Denver Metro area, and when Hospice of St. John’s closed (who was our hospice of choice for the houses) we «tried» four different agencies before we found Suncrest. Suffice it to say we use them exclusively. They are «the bomb», and I mean that in a good way. We call at any time of the day or night with concerns over one of our residents, their patient, and we get timely responses which includes them coming to the house to check on them.
If you or a family member is in need of a credible Home Health agency or hospice, these guys should be your first choice. They are so responsive, caring, and nuturing which is what one needs if you require their service. Thanks for reading!

I read the previous negative review, and must say that my family’s experience with Suncrest Hospice was totally different — it was outstanding in almost every way. My dad was 92 — he had gone from rehab facilities to memory care to a nursing home with several hospital stays admixed when I requested hospice services to augment his care at the nursing home because the ultimate and reasonably proximate outcome had pretty clearly declared itself. The nursing home team said «we love Suncrest,» and since I had no personal experience with community-​based hospice care, I accepted their recommendation.
It was a great recommendation. The social worker was Suncrest’s point person for communications with the family, and she was outstanding. The chaplain likewise was excellent — she made herself available, but allowed us to choose if/​what support from her we might find helpful. The CNAs (certified nursing assistants) were bright, articulate, caring and compassionate. I don’t need to be graphic to describe the often less than pleasant tasks they perform — or the the times they perform them for folks whose declining cognition don’t allow them to express the appreciation they otherwise would have, or at times receive them with resistance or even combativeness. Nonetheless, the Suncrest CNAs literally always performed them with kindness, compassion and grace. The other member of the Suncrest team was the hospice nurse, and she also was excellent — she was kind but realistic, and was very helpful in making sure that hospice services continued to be approved by my dad’s health plan until the end. My one constructive criticism of Suncrest would be that at least the quality of the communication, if not also a little bit the quality of the services of the hospice nurse fell off when the primary nurse was off-​duty.
Suncrest was helpful in making sure that all decisions and arrangements had been made in advance, and on the day of my dad’s death, Suncrest made all of the necessary notifications and addressed all of the immediate details. Had we felt the need, they also made a variety of grief support resources available, and have continued with some subsequent contact and available resources.
While I can’t compare Suncrest with other hospice providers, I can say that they provided my dad with dignity in his final few months and at the same time made them more comfortable, There wasn’t much more to be done at that time, and I’m grateful for the professionalism, kindness and compassion that my dad and our family experienced.
