Sports Column is exactly what a sports bar should be. And if you love watching sports that is a GOOD thing. They have a nice menu, a lot of variety, but I have not eaten here yet. The food that came past me smelled amazing. Came in before heading to Pepsi Center to watch a March Madness game. I was on the edge of my seat for CU vs. UCONN, and of course the remodeling/updating of the upstairs patio area caused a pipe to burst gushing out water over the cable boxes and sound system. Luckily the staff all rushed over and after 10 minutes and about 2 minutes till game time everything was fixed! Thanks everyone for working hard to fix the problem. Drinks were great and great price. Bartenders were nice and welcoming. I have come here many times the past 10 years and every time I get to watch my games and enjoy great drinks. Definitely a great sports bar for fans!

Ate dinner here in between brewery hopping. The wings were great, and they have so many beers on tap which is nice. The service was also good. The negatives with SC are the other patrons. You get a mix between young and older, but the young kids are bratty and rude.

Great place to watch a game or before a baseball game since Coors field is across the street. Also a place to watch the UFC fights with no cover. If you like a sports bar with the volume loud, you will have fun!

Great place to watch the Broncos. Fun atmosphere, plenty of tv’s, FREEPOPCORN. Our server Savannah took great care of us despite the bustling environment. She had a great attitude even though she was busy and it was was the day after Halloween. After the Broncos beat the packers and the place emptied out, Savannah introduced me to Erin who continued to provide great service. Rob at the front door was a chill guy with a great sense of humor. Sometimes doormen can have a chip on their shoulder and look for reasons to use their authority(example: every dude at GINNMILL). At the end of the night Chuck provided great conversation. Can’t say enough about this place, will definitely be back with friends. Cheap drafts on gamedays, delicious tater tots!

I brought a group of my friends here as we were bar hopping around downtown. All the bars we went to did not have any food. So coming here was just what I needed. The food was actually good too! Inside there are tables for beer pong and basketball hoops. Huge TVs to watch sports of course. The place a little dead, but I didn’t mind that. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean(smelled terrible of course). I might be back if I am downtown in the same area.

Great state of the art tv’s, great sound system! Perfect place to watch the game! Really good drink specials! And our server, Savannah, is awesome!!! She went out of her way to find us a liquor they thought they were out of!

Great place to watch Iowa Hawkeyes football. Get here early if you want a seat though. The best popcorn I’ve ever had. The breakfast was good too. The Mexican tostada was amazing and very filling. My friend liked the breakfast sandwich too. The tap beer could have been colder

In town on business/pleasure and looking for a laid back place to grab a bite. This place had 3.5 stars, so we decided to check it out. When we arrived there were seven people inside, a couple shooting hoops, a table of 4 doing shots, and a young child(age 3 – 4). It took so long for anyone to greet us that we were contemplating leaving. Finally someone came over. We ordered the baked mac and cheese(bland), and«home style» chicken tenders. Not sure how one screws up chicken tenders, but one definitely did. This may be a fine place to go if you want to drink and watch a game, but the food is not good.

Why does the IOWABAR in Denver not have the Big Ten network? Came here special all to watch the Iowa/Iowa State Game. Got here early to get a good table by a TV only to be told only a couple TVs will be showing the game since they are streaming the game from the Internet. Um, what? Awful. Don’t claim to be a Big Ten Bar and not show Big Ten Network games.

My wife and I both got sick later in the evening. Gas, bloating, etc. We both ate the free popcorn, then I ordered a burger and she ordered the chicken sandwich. Was it the popcorn or cross-contamination that caused it? Both were pretty bland. I say, «Give up the food and stick to sports and drinks!»

Not too bad of a place. They were very accommodating with playing the NBA Playoff games for us and turning the sound up. Pretty good drink deals on pitchers and overall good selection and price of drinks. Nothing to write home about, though. It seems like every time we tried to eat someone was shooting baskets on their free hoop which can get annoying but overall not too big of a concern. The staff is somewhat attentive and some nights were better than others. I don’t see the whole«best sports bar in Denver» as I read on some website but it’s okay and no real complaints just nothing that makes it stand apart.

This place should not be called Sports Column but instead called boxing column. Instead of playing a game 7 of the NBA playoffs on one screen(when they have 7 screens) they would rather play the unknown boxing matches on all of the screens despite multiple paying customers asking for it. We all paid the $ 20 to watch the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight but that fight would not start for 2 hours, just give us one of many TVs. Later on we found out that they were playing the game on small TVs downstairs. The upstairs bartenders should have told us that instead of just being rude. I’m never coming back here to watch sports again.

Hockey fans, this is the place for you! I don’t know the difference between a stick and a net, but as part of what I considered a fair compromise I had to watch the Ducks and Kings game in exchange for Fifty Shades of Grey. The only issue was that NOBODY had the channels for it! We went to Lime first, as it was right outside the movie theater. Nope. My next bright idea was Tilted Kilt. Hey, it’s a sports bar, they have to have it, and it’s close by. Nope. My boyfriend(who thinks he is Gordon Bombay, and because of this refused to give up the search even though it was already the third period) booked us a car2go and said we were going to Sports Collumn. Lo and behold they had the game and they also had some other ducks fans to occupy my boyfriend while I played trivia crack. There is nothing I hate more than ordering just water at a bar. It’s like asking people to work for free. But given that this is my stance on attending bars and I had already been to three in an hour in search of this mythical game I was already quite toasty so I had to do it. Bartenders refilled my water often, which I greatly appreciated. My boyfriend had some beers, chatted hockey with another enthusiast, and didn’t complain once about watching fifty shades after he got to see his team win. If you love hockey save yourself the trip to a million bars to find a game and just head to Sports Collumn.

A great place for cheap drinks with a fun atmosphere. No lines and great music all the time. Great spot to come with a large group of friends, the only reason I’m rating this low is because it is always empty. If you come with a group of people it’s a blast but if you come with a few friends it is empty and usually a little boring.

Great location for a sports bar but where they lack is service. Waited extended amounts of time to order drinks and food. Great place to pre-game before a Rockies game or running across the street to The 1-Up. I had the Jucy Lucy. It was really good and smokey. I wouldn’t put this on the forefront of my mind next time I’m hanging around LoDo but good to know its there.

Sports Column is a serviceable bar close to Coors in case you need somewhere to stop before or after a Rockies game. The menu is traditional pub fare. I stuck with a burger and also had the fried pickles appetizer. The burger itself was ok. There was nothing extraordinary about it. On the flip side, I’ve had worse which is why I gave this place three stars. The pickles appetizer seemed like they used an entire jar and it was definitely plenty for 5 of us to share. I’d stop by this place for sure again for a quick bite before a game but I probably wouldn’t be here otherwise.

Met with friends here for the super bowl yesterday. Never been here before but it’s quite the venue. Massive space, a ton of screens so you can watch from wherever you might be, and lots of excited fans to hype it up and get excited. . I won’t talk about the tragedy that happened on those TV screens, but I will say this is a great place to catch any game. Service was outstanding as well despite the crazy antics going on. Waitress was super attentive and just excellent.

So unfortunately this place will never be more than a 3 if you sit on top due to the sprinkler crap they have. We sat up top on a cloudy day before heading to a Rockies game. It wasn’t hot nor sunny. Yet, they have this spritzer thing that sprays you with water every 10 – 15 seconds. It’s highly annoying especially if its not hot and if you’re eating. If it’s a hot day and all I’m doing is drinking? Spritz away but not so often. If it’s not sunny? Turn the f-ing thing off. When we asked to have it turned off they said ppl had requested it and bc of that they won’t turn it off. Yet we looked around and people were covering their heads and food. Besides that the food was pretty good when it wasn’t being sprayed with water. The server was efficient but not friendly at all. The beer was ok but still… it had water in it if you didn’t drink it in one gulp. This place is probably cool if you don’t come on a Sunday during the day when it’s not sunny. Avoid eating upstairs basically.

Big ol’ honking sports bar near Coors Field. The menu is the typical burgers and bar food you would expect. They have a decent amount on tap and lots of specials throughout the week and on game days. There are lots of TVs and lots of seating spread out through the place. It is a seat yourself, loud, no frills kind of place. Lots of games around to play if you are so inclined. Plus they have a Juicy Lucy(burger with molten hot cheese stuffed inside it) on the menu(haven’t seen that in Colorado). The service is OK. The drinks are OK(there is a 2 for 1 Unilocal deal) and the food is basic, but plentiful! An easy stop on the way to Coors Field!
