Serenity On St Paul Day Spa

My boyfriend and I came in for a couples massage yesterday. We had Andrea and Debania and had a great experience! Andrea did some amazing deep tissue work on me, and I feel like I’ve been destroyed and rebuilt in the best way. We’ve already pre-​booked our next one.

We did the couple’s massage. Decent massage and nice light lunch after. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the huge gaps of time during the massage when the therapists were gone. They didn’t explain how long they were going to be gone for so we were just laying there waiting. The other part I didn’t like was not enough lotion was used. My leg hair was getting pulled during the massage. Ouch.

Having lived in Vegas and tropical Singapore and Thailand for years, I have my good share of facial in 5 – 6 stars hotels to know what’s a good facial. Here in Denver, I FINALLY found Ms Sun who don’t just do relaxing routine fufu facial like the hotels but went beyond that. Sun is actually very knowledgable and passionate about skincare. A few peel and facial treatment set me back for years as complimented by family! Interesting to find out that Ms Sun combine the best technology science of the west and amazing ancient secret of the east for all her treatment. I may try out her acupuncture for face and well being next time. Thank you. Sun like sunshine

I was NOT impressed by this «spa». My husband and I went there over the weekend. He got a massage and I got a shellac mani. The nail tech was very nice but I walked out looking more like my niece had painted my nails and not a pro. I got a French and none of the lines are straight, the nails are not fully painted on the sides and at least 3 of them have black string stuck in them. Because the sides were not painted and uneven two have chipped and it has been only 2 days. A TOTAL waste of money and I will not be going back.

Got a shellac mani by Veronica and she did an absolutely fantastic job! While waiting for my acrylic to soak off, the owner Andrea, as well as Veronica both provided fantastic conversation and customer service. I will definitely be returning! A fantastic business hidden in the heart of cherry creek.

I received one of the best facials i have ever had. She was incredibly knowledgable about her profession and kept a smile on her face the whole time. She was a great listener and genuinely was interested in what i wanted. I would love to come back to the spa however, the rest of my experience was unprofessional. The general atmosphere of the spa was a let down.

Great location and a very friendly staff. Our massage appointment somehow wasn’t scheduled, but they made it work and squeezed us in! The couples massage overall was wonderful, very relaxing and reasonable in price. Though there was a miscommunication in times and they were a little unorganized, they compensated us by giving us a $ 15 voucher plus 15 extra mins for next time.
I will definitely be back and I think Serenity on St. Paul deserves more than 1.5 stars.

My husband bought my mother and I each a mani-​pedi-​facial package for Valentine’s Day so we went in anticipation of how fabulous our nails, feet and skin would look, and we agreed before we went in that we were both looking forward to having our feet massaged as part of the pedicure. The fact that this «spa» in in the very posh Cherry Creek shopping district gave me high hopes that our spa experience would be better what we might experience at an average place. I was sadly mistaken.
The actual space occupied by the business is small and even slightly cramped. The paint job on the walls seemed cheaply and sloppily done, the floor was dirty and there were more dead plants than live ones. We were offered a beverage and when we both chose water, we were brought small plastic cups that were half full of tepid tap water.
When the appointment was booked, my mom and I were scheduled at the same time, but when we showed up, there was only one manicurist. OK… She filled both of the foot baths on their pedicure chairs and we sat down to soak our feet. The chair my mom was on did not work, and booths chairs were too close to the wall to be able to lean back.
Big complaint #1: As the manicurist worked on trying to give us our relaxing spa experience, we both noticed that she used the same tools on both of us without cleaning or sanitizing them at all.
For both of us, the scrubbing leg rub was very brief, the foot massage was completely absent and neither of us had the hot towels wrapped around our legs and feet like what I get a my «average» nail salon. The manicurist did a very substandard job on our toenails. She did not trim our cuticles, she did not buff our toenails smooth and the edges of our toenails were left rough enough to feel like they would snag on cloth. When she painted my toenails, she didn’t even cover the nails completely with polish and I had polish on my skin.
That’s just the pedicure!
When doing our manicures, many steps were left undone as well. My nails and my mom’s nails were left rough and snaggy, just like our toenails. The manicurist did not trim either of our cuticles and neither of us received the hand and forearm massage we are both accustomed to getting with our manicures. As she was about to start painting my nails, I pointed out to her that one if them was splitting and should be fixed before coloring. She glued my nail, but I could swear it was a piece of toilet tissue she used to reinforce it and not a piece of silk like I have always seen used in other places. The polish job she did is shoddy at best. She did not cover my entire nail with polish and there is polish on my skin!
Big Complaint #2: Another customer came in for a pedicure while we were getting our fingers done and the manicurist filled the footbath without cleaning it at all after I had used it. Made me wonder how many people had their feet in it before me and if it is ever cleaned and sanitized. Gross!
We were supposed to get facials, but they had scheduled us both with 1 esthetician. Each of us would have had to wait an hour for the other and neither of us had the time to be sitting around for another two hours. In addition, with the lack of sanitation, neither of us wanted anyone there to come near our faces!
Big Complaint #3: When we informed the receptionist the we wanted to cancel the facial service, I’m assuming it was the owner who came out and lectured us rudely that the esthetician had gone out of her way to get there for our services (telling us she had car trouble, as if we cared or it was our business) and that it would cost us $ 50 each to cancel. I can understand the cancellation fee, but not the unprofessional and undignified attitude she had when telling us about it.
The bottom line is that I would tell anyone and everyone to steer clear of this unsanitary and unprofessional «spa», unless they don’t mind being potentially exposed to communicable diseases. I did not see any licensing posted for the «manicurist» and I felt very dirty after my experience.
On a side note, my mom and I still wanted to get our foot massages so since our pedicures looked as though they were done by a child, we stopped at the «regular» nail salon in my neighborhood and paid for another (lower priced, but much higher quality) pedicure on the way home.

The staff is friendly and the treatments were pretty good, but overall this place could use some work.
First off, they bill themselves as a day spa, and they really are not. It is a tiny, dark space, in an office type building that is in desperate need of updating. There are no lockers (I had to carry everything around with me all day, coat, scarf, gloves, purse etc). The lunch they served me was fine, but where it was served was unbelievable. It was in the lobby/​atrium of the office building. As I ate my lunch, people were walking by and looking at me as they went to the businesses and the restroom. Someone decided to shampoo their rugs in one of the offices so it smelled musty and I had to listen to a very loud steam vacuum during my entire lunch. The placemat had stains on it, and instead of napkins they gave me paper towels. They also do not have any parking. There are two hour meters, but I had a half day package so I had to park in a pay lot that cost me $ 10.
My facial was fine, my massage was strange. I told her on my form and in person how much my lower back hurt and she never touched it. The massage itself was ok, I have had much better. I needed the restroom and was escorted back out to the lobby of the building and was sent down the hall, in my robe, to a public restroom. I just kept hoping that I would not run into anyone. I could not stay in my robe for my
mani/​pedi as it is a tiny space right where everyone exits and enters the salon. My nail services were probably the best service I had, she did a great job.
I would probably go back to have my nails done, but I would never send anyone there for a day spa experience. This is far from a day spa.

Impressively friendly customer service. Its nice to see the customer’s need come first. Very pleasant experience. They also offer several top-​of-​the-​line skin care lines. NICE!

I have been a happy and pampered visitor to Serenity on St. Paul for many years. Andrea Kulpa, the owner, is very professional and an excellent masseuse. She knows how to add fun touches which enhance the experience-​you get hot tea or mimosas, chocolate, and other treats, soothing music, and a serene environment. The day spa is easy to get to in Cherry Creek North and there is parking on the street nearby. Have lunch before or after at one of the great Cherry Creek restaurants!
The spa offers many services. I personally can also recommend Veronica for nails and Mimi for facials. They also do customized parties for special occasions.

We got a couples massage at Serenity On St Paul. I wanted to give this place a much higher rating because the employees appeared likeable. But, the negatives were prominent enough I couldn’t justify it.
To get it out of the way, the Bad: Overall, it was a disruptive, nearly unprofessional experience. The therapist working on my fiancé kept walking out the door (at least 3 times, if not 4) in the middle of our massages to mess with the Ipod. Look, I know how annoying it might be for a song to play over and over because you can’t figure out how to take it off of Repeat, but honestly, we, as customers who were half asleep, didn’t really notice. In fact, I think the repetitive music helped lull us into a deep relaxation, but what we did notice was the sudden interruptions by the stop-​and-​start massage, the rapid sound of clicking through the Ipod several times to force it to the next song, and walking out the door to get another Ipod, and then trying to click through the new one. I wished you had figured this out at the BEFORE the massages started. Once can be forgiven, but THREE more times after that? My particular therapist worked through the interruptions, but I felt bad for my fiancé as his kept leaving.
The problem was magnified when the massage stopped at 90 minutes — no extensions because of the interruptions. It takes time to fall into a relaxation mode, and it’s difficult to come back to that level when you have to start over each time; therefore, the 90 minutes felt more like 50 – 60 minutes. I also didn’t like my head rest (when I was lying on my stomach). Its cushion was too slippery and sat on top of the metal bar, so it kept sliding out sideways too wide and only left my forehead to be supported, which inevitably caused a headache.
Additionally, my fiancé, who’s had many massages over the years, said that he felt his therapist just didn’t seem to pay attention: her hands moved to random spots on his body and passively rubbed his muscles. To him, it just didn’t feel like a cohesive, focused massage.
The Good: You can enter the spa from directly outside the building. The small room is nicely appointed with comfy chairs in which to relax, while on the right are two mani/​pedi leather seats. We were immediately offered water, tea, mimosa, or champagne. Little Lindor chocolate truffles were set up on the table. Our therapy room itself smelled wonderful and was set up nicely with clothing hooks, robes, and chairs. Scents of lemongrass wafted throughout our cozy, dimly lit room as an aromatherapy, which was made even more relaxing by the heated massage tables.
After hearing me complain of the tightness along my spine, my masseuse showed me some wooden t-​bars and she said she’d try using them on me if I wished. I’ve never had the t-​bar experience before, and they felt AMAZING as they dug into my taut muscles. She also held hot stones in her hands as she rubbed out the kinks, and I could tell she knew what she was doing. A hot towel with peppermint was placed on each of our faces and signified that our appointment was over.
Cups of cold water and mugs of hot water awaited us. We selected our tea bags, and again we were offered mimosas. I had one with a truffle… YUM! Before we left, they also made us each pick a small scented candle as a gift and a tea packet sample. At our feet was a basket of travel-​sized underarm deodorant, gratis.
All this free stuff was great, but I still wished the massage experience had gone smoother. After all, a relaxing massage was what we paid for, not the little trinkets.
If this disruptive experience reflects on how the spa operates, then NO, I don’t recommend. We’ve experienced better. I really hope for their sake that this was a one off. If we were guaranteed that everything on our second visit will be much smoother (and with a hefty discount to mollify our disappointment), then yes, I’d go back and would definitely update my rating.

If you want to turn a loving $ 250 Indulgence Spa gift package for your fiancée into a customer service nightmare created by a belligerent owner who dinged us $ 150 against the $ 250 package because my fiancée had to reschedule… then by all means go to Serenity Spa! OK… the two masseuses were pretty good… but the room temperature champagne and stale cookies were not exactly luxurious. That said… when a small business spa owner becomes both insistent and belligerent and penalizes you $ 150 for rescheduling… then that’s when «enough is enough». To add insult to injury… when trying to address this penalty with the receptionist/​host after the massage… all we were told was «Uh…I’m really sorry… I’m new here and don’t know what to say… uh…not sure what to tell you… uh, by the way… would you like to add to the $ 25 gratuity you already offered?»!!! We were like «Are you serious».
Hey folks… do yourself a favor. Avoid Serenity… unless you love the SURREAL and go to a spa where top-​notch appreciative customer service is their top priority! What a disgrace!
