This gulch, trail and park extends from Lakewood to the S Platte River trail. It is popular for bikers for that reason. They often get lost though because 1 trail becomes 2 where the gulch crosses W Florida Ave and the trail continues east along the south side of the street towards Ruby Hill Park. My wife and I love walking our dog on the portion of the trail north of W Florida. Often we can let him off leash and so do others. There is no irrigation or sawd, just«natural» grasses(weeds). Sometimes there is trash that we pick up on the way. Occasionally we are fortunate enough to spot a fox or falcon. As the trail approaches S Lipan St there is a grassed area good for sports and a pretty nice playground for kids. People often have barbeques here. Those are the parts we most frequent. But there is another grassed area close to S Raritan St and S Florida Ave with picnic tables. You can get a nice view of the mountains or the new Pavilion on top of Ruby Hill on this portion of the trail. The trail gets a little sketchy by S Federal Blvd, narrow and kind of ugly, but quickly improves with more open areas and playgrounds west of S Federal Blvd.
