Love this place! Jim has a real eye for his craft. My last few hair cuts from a different salon haven’t gone so well and I’ve been trying to get a certain look for the last few years that no one can seem to understand. Jim’s concept was EXACTLY what I wanted! Such a relief to work with some one I can trust! As a new customer, he was very thorough to ask me lots of questions about my career and lifestyle to make sure we found something that would really fit ME. I am usually a stylist worst nightmare because I refuse to put products in my hair and usually walk out the door with nothing more than a quick comb through. He was happy to work with this and even suggested some easy tips to manage it throughout the day without much fuss. I liked his approach as to what were «events» vs. «processes» in relation to what we could do today, and what we could eventually build up to (we were making big changes). We even talked about hair as 3-​D geometry (I’m a nerd, I loved it!). I am DONE searching for a new stylist, Jim is my hair’s best friend. I can’t wait to go back!

I usually like coming here, don’t have a particular stylist that I see normally. Up til today it’s been great, able to call the day of and get an appointment. But today I got there and was informed this particular stylist didn’t take credit or debit card, only cash or check. I realize that each stylist there does there own payment options, but I feel like I should have been told that over the phone before the appointment. I didn’t want to go all the way home and get a check book so I booked at another salon. Pretty disappointed today.

I was very happy to have Andrea for my color and cut. She is very professional, talented and friendly. My hair looks fantastic! Bring a checkbook to pay Andrea but you can use a card for product.

After 2 years of growing out my hair and a disappointing attempt (at another salon — my review for that one has been filtered) to get a fun, funky, stylish do, I finally have a cut and color that suits my face, lifestyle, and personality perfectly.
I popped into this salon mostly because it is super close to my house. The receptionist listened to my tale of woe. Then she said, «I know the PERFECT person for you. She’s with a client, but let me see if she has a second to meet you.» Within 2 – 3 minutes, she reappeared and introduced me to Andrea. After a one-​minute-​max conversation, I had a good feeling about this stylist, so I made an appointment for a cut only.
The cut is amazing. Andrea looked at all 15 of the pictures I brought in. She asked what I liked about each one. Then she separated out three or four and told me that she could cut my hair in a way that I could get all those types of looks, depending on how I style it. I told her to go for it, and I’m so glad I did. I loved the cut so much that I scheduled a color appointment for the next week.
Andrea clearly cared enough to spend some time thinking about my color because she had pictures for me to look at when I arrived. Together we picked a three color palette (mostly she suggested and I loved) that thrilled me. I have a dark chocolate brown, a lighter brown with a hint of reddish and a super white blond color in big chunky angled sections. I can actually change the primary color of my hair daily just by swooshing it in one direction or another. Sounds weird, but it is funky and sophisticated at the same time.
When I got home, my husband said my whole energy was different and that I should never wear another hairstyle… EVER! My friends and coworkers (women AND men) still (two weeks later) say they can’t get over how cool and pretty my hair is.
Andrea can’t take credit cards, so take a checkbook. The salon takes plastic for product.

i have been going to Salon Phoenix for the past five years. Suzanne does a great job of waxing without pain nor swelling/​redness (I have very sensitive skin). My stylist, Kristin is a miracle worker. Every time I go in I apologize for how I look. When I leave, I feel like a princess and that the Popparatzi will be waiting outside to snap my photo. She creates the most unbelievable colors to either highlight your hair or make a bold statement. I always feel welcomed and never rushed. I don’t have to worry about her cutting off too much of my hair. She truly listens to what I want. I am VERY pleased with the services provided by Suzanne and Kristin at Salon Phoenix. P. S. Parking is great!

I have been seeing Jim and going to Salon Phoenix for as long as Jim has been there. about 6 years… HE IS FABULOUS… he has a great eye for what looks good. and has gently steered me to the look I have today. I get more compliments than I have ever had. and think I look better than I have in YEARS… I always make sure to go to Jim when I have a special event, he gives me a look that draws so many compliments… He is THE best Colorist in Denver as well as hair designer.. I will never go to anyone else… Everyone at the salon is friendly, always stops by to say hi and see how you are doing and ohhh and ahhh at my new look! I think that says alot when his co-​workers really appreciate what he does and constantly ask his advice. He is kind, he really listens and focuses on you when you are there… YOU are the most important person when he is with you… I LOVE this place! AND I LOVE JIM!!!

I had been growing my hair for years, it was long, straight and boring. I was very attached to my hair and would shed tears when just getting it trimmed, but one day I decided I needed a change, a big change. I had seen Salon Phoenix many times and I decided to set up an appointment.
Well…I wound up with Ryan and I think it was destiny! Ryan was amazing, he was more nervous than I was! He didn’t want to cut as much off as I wanted and told me that if I still wanted to go shorter that I could come back free of charge. He understood that this was a huge deal. Needless to say, I went back. I just fell in love with my new short hair and Ryan.
The staff is super friendly and very nice. My hair has never looked better. I have gotten my husband to go see Ryan now too, and he says the same thing, that his hair has never looked better.
I have gone back for them to style my hair for parties and have even had my makeup done there.
I recommend Salon Phoenix and Ryan.

I really wanted to love this place, it’s so close to my place, and the décor is so cute, even the receptionist is cool.
Here’s the bad news folks… I walked away from my last hair cut in tears. Emotional pain. This is the worst hair cut I’ve ever had. Get the kleenex, it brings back the pain just to talk about it. I really wonder if I was this stylists first paying customer. She took over an hour to cut my hair, and she just kept cutting, and cutting, and thinning, and thinning. I have baby fine hair already. I told her I did and she felt it, for over an hour, what was she thinking?! I looked like a cancer patient! I could get chemo that’s cuter than this.
I even brought in 3 photo’s that I downloaded from the internet, of a girl with very fine, blond, hair, with a similar face shape. I didn’t want to look like the girl in the photo I just wanted to have a similar hair style. NOPE, not even close.
I had snot bubbles, as I paid my $ 58. (no tip) for this hair anomaly. If snot bubbles count for anything, avoid this place.
