I am definitely NOT a fan. This Safeway is consistently understocked. The employees also seem less than happy. In addition, Colorado Safeways are ridiculously overpriced. And yet I frequent this location. Why? The Starbucks. Since this location is around the corner from my office, it has been a lifesaver during crazy times at work.

The layout is weird. The Doughnut display was lacking. The employees were personable and nice. They need to work on keeping things actually stocked. Thats the point of a grocery store.

THEREISALWAYS A WAITTOCHECKOUT!!! If you’re going to have poor selection and prices, at least give me one good thing to ease the sting. Let me pay and leave quickly. A few days ago it was ridiculous; I had to wait while the shopper in front of me was apparently trying to pay her rent with Canadian food stamps. In the 10 minutes it took to sort it out, the manager appeared twice and there was a steady stream of various other employees with the same confused and slack-jawed expressions. Not a single one of them acknowledged me standing there, waiting to check out. Nobody offered to open another register to get us out of there while they were contacting the embassy(or whatever it was they were doing). I actually started to walk out, leaving my food at the register, but they were able to get the prime minister on the phone and everything was sorted out without UN involvement. This experience, while extreme, wasn’t surprising at all. This place blows. Too bad it’s the closest.

This is the worst Safeway in the history of all Safeways anywhere and ever. There are always lines and there are never enough cashiers to deal with the lines. And it’s not like there’s a ton of customers, because this Safeway kind of blows, at least in terms of selection and pricing. Even the self-checkout has a perpetual line! GETMORESTAFF. CAREMOREABOUTYOURCUSTOMERS. Oh, and the cashiers you hire? Please make sure they are at least borderline competent and do not throw heavy items on chips and bread or shake up sodas with glee. It’s like the twilight zone in there. I hate going to this Safeway and that’s for REAL.
