Ramada Denver Downtown

Pretty gross. The staff was rude and unprofessional. The t.v. wasn’t working so they brought us another one. That one didn’t work either. If you have asthma, I’d suggest staying somewhere else. The no smoking signs don’t deter ppl from smoking inside of their rooms and the staff actually smoked directly outside of our window on their lunch breaks. I didn’t see any bugs, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they have them since the trash receptacles are located about 1 foot away from the guest rooms. The gym was alright and the rooms themselves were pretty large for the price, but still… if the staff is rude, it kinda ruins the experience for me. If you’re broke and don’t have a problem with second-​hand smoke and rude people, go for it. But if you can afford something more expensive, definitely check out some of the hotels closer to LODO or Five Points.

Five stars for the bar and bar staff! I’m just going to leave it at that, I won’t go too far in depth on the hotel or rooms. The hotel is what you get for work travel on a budget and didn’t have a choice to book elsewhere. It’s also a pretty rough neighborhood with lots of crackheads and homeless… culture right? Lol But seriously the bar, happy hour and staff made the trip bearable. The food is actually really good too, scan the QR code for a half off app and drink. Can’t beat that. Thanks ramada staff for making my week stay bearable with lots of drinks and conversation! :)

I don’t usually give out 1 – 2 star reviews and I’ve been trying to think of redeeming things to increase my rating a bit — the only thing that is saving this place from a 1 star was the staff at the front desk. We checked in late on a Thursday night (we had two rooms booked) and everything went smooth, but the second we walked into one of our rooms, there were used condoms on the floor, q-​tips and towels everywhere, beds were a wreck. I called down to the front desk and they immediately took care of us and transferred us to a new room. This new room had at least been serviced by the maids, but definitely wasn’t what I would consider clean. I lost count of the stains on my bedspread. They offer breakfast in the morning (not free), $ 6.00 for cereal and bread, $ 9.00 for the «buffet» which consisted of cereal, bread, waffles, and bacon. Kinda regret not researching hotels a bit better before booking our rooms.

I have never been so repulsed by a hotel in my life. After three room changes we made arrangements at a beautiful hotel in downtown for only $ 25 more per night.
The first room they put us in was a non smoking room that smelled like an ashtray. We asked to be moved so we wouldn’t end up paying a $ 200 smoking fee.
The second room smelled clean, but then we found a blood stain on one of the pillows. We just asked for new pillows and while we were waiting came across a pile of toe nails on the floor in between the bed and the nightstand.
For the third room, we were upgraded to a «suite» where there was hair in all of the blankets, food ground into the carpets, which had obviously not even been vacuumed, and then we found dried up contacts on the floor by the trash.
The cherry on top was the bed bug catcher we found in between the mattresses of our beds. You know the only way to get rid of bed bugs is to throw everything out right?!
The only redeeming quality the Ramada had was its night manager Scott, who was completely mortified by the rooms and tried to be as understanding and helpful as possible while dealing with three tired, pissed off travelers.

Friendly staff, but that’s about the only positive. A pretty run down hotel for the rate. Not a place we could relax and enjoy.

A complete dump the staff is extremely rude. 《Front desk》kids stay in school or you might end up working at the front desk of the Ramada.

Stayed here for 4 nights, the front desk worker Cisco was very helpful and nice! We could pretty much walk anywhere we wanted. There are more than plenty of restaurants/​bars around the hotel, a lot of the restaurants around there have pretty awesome food especially VooDoo donuts (4 min walk). You do have to pay $ 5 a night for parking and the wifi was pretty fast.

This was my first time to stay at a «budget» hotel. The Ramada Denver Downtown wasn’t the fancy of hotels, which was to be expected. What I wasn’t expecting was to check out of the Ramada with two thumbs up! We were all very surprised with the location of the Ramada, great/​central location. We walked to nearby bars, shops and restaurants during the day. We did’nt feel as comfortable walking around the city past dark so we took simply/​cheap Über rides to our desired designations. The hotel rooms were clean, security was A+. If your on a budget but don’t want to sacrifice location, cleanliness or security the Ramada Denver Downtown will be a perfect fit!

Really not seeing what everyone else is seeing at this hotel.
Granted, it’s a ramada, not a Hilton.
But the staff was beyond amazing… Helpful, and really took care of me and my situation. The guest services attendant was even sweet to my puppy…
The bed is plush and comfortable. It’s clean… There’s no foul smells, and the cucumber water in the lobby… I can’t get enough of it.
I’ve also been in my bed all day and no sign of bed bugs.
Basically, you can’t check into a lower class hotel and rate it like you expected a 5 star suite.
Yeah, it’s on Colfax … But so are many beloved businesses in Denver.
I’d stay here again.

Bedbugs bedbugs bedbugs. Free WiFi was barely usable, connection kept dropping every 5 minutes.
I stayed in RM 306 between 11÷17÷15 ~ 11÷20÷15. Over the course of the three nights, I was mercilessly attacked by bedbugs. When I came home from the trip, I counted at least 14 bites across my body. My colleague that stayed in the RM next door didn’t encounter the same issue, but it was quite an inconvenience for me. Gross

This hotel can’t get any worse. Might as well have stayed at a hostel:
— Hallways smelled of pot
— Beds are rock hard
— AC units are loud and old
— Ran out of hot water
— television didn’t work. Someone ripped out the cable out the back of tv.
— Located on Colfax (worst part of town)
— Bums hanging out outside
I should’ve known better than to book a week stay before reading the reviews. Never again!

One of my Denver conventions put us up at this ramada. It’s horrible. If I could give less than one star I would. The room refrigerator didn’t work at all and smelled of rotten food. The showers were ice cold. Not even a drop of warm water. Worst of all and I know a lot of people make illegitimate claims but I have photos of the bed bugs we found in our room. This is one of the dingiest hotels I have ever seen. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I knew I wasn’t going to get 5 stars staaying at this place, however, I probably would’ve given them at least 4 had my stay been better.
I checked in, all was fine. I stayed over Halloween weekend. We left Saturday night to go to dinner, etc. Came back at 9:30PM and the parking lot was completely full. I watched as people came in, parked illegally and got out of their cars and into bars. WTF???
I went to the front desk and I told him, the parking lot was full (his name is Zac) He looked at me and said «So?» I told him I was a guest and this is unacceptable. I had to register my car when I checked in, why isn’t he going outside and towing the cars that aren’t registered? He seriously said «I don’t care and I’m sorry, but there is nothing I can do about it». I was LIVID! I paid for a room and a parking spot! He «advised» me to park my car illegally, which I refused to do. I asked what if my car gets towed? His reply was «that’s the risk you take». My friend walked in a bit after and spoke with Jay and he looked at her and said «I don’t care, it’s not my problem, I’m off the clock».
These are the people they have employed. Oh my God.
So we had to drive around Downtown Denver at 9:30PM on Halloween night to find a spot. We ended up paying $ 30 for a parking spot. DO NOT STAY HERE!

One star for the location and one star for the comfortable beds. This place is kinda dumpy, with lousy service given from all but one employee. I was constantly paranoid that my car was going to get broken into, but it didn’t! Thank gawd.
I wouldn’t go back and had I read the reviews beforehand, I wouldn’t have booked here.

You get what you pay for, smells of smoke and the shower temp changes from ice cold to scalding hot randomly. It was clean so that’s nice.

I actually thought about whether to give this place 2 or 3 stars because there are some positives amidst the sea of negatives. I decided on 2 stars because throughout I observed really unfriendly service from people who apparently don’t want to work there and let their unhappiness show.
The positives:
–great location, this is the best thing about the hotel. 3 blocks from the Fillmore Auditorium.
–cheap prices compared to the area
–free parking
–free wi-​fi that is pretty fast
–my bed was comfortable. No evidence of bed bugs.
–tons of pillows and I like that
–the carpet was clean
–free shuttle within 3 miles although I did not use it so I can’t say how reliable it is.
So the place was livable for one night. That said, there were a lot of problems.
–the place is old and they need better cleaning staff
–the bath tub did not drain so it took more than 2 hours for the water to drain after a shower
–the hair dryer did not work
–if you are on the street side, the noise is very loud
–the filter in the AC/​heater had not been cleaned in over a year and was filthy
–the bathroom floor was sticky
–the toilet ran
–analog TV, no HD
–a lamp bulb was out
–it was cold at night (October) but there was only a light cover on the bed so I was really cold. Luckily I brought my sweats so I would not shiver.
Add to the negatives service that was not very good. I originally arrived at 12:50 for a 2pm checkin and the first thing the guy said to me was «I can’t check you in, come back at 2.» No hi, no how are you, just get out and come back. When I returned an hour later (1:50) I was allowed to check in. Lucky me. I asked for a room away from the elevator so of course he put me directly across from the elevator. When I could not be away from the elevator I asked for a room not facing the busy street and he said ok but in reality I had a room right on the street. And Colfax is busy and loud. The street was so loud that I had to run the AC constantly to cover the noise. Of course, the AC unit was old and needed replacement. It was so loud that it sounded like a train running through my room. So I could choose between train noise or car noise from outside. Needless to say, I did not sleep great.
When I checked out they tried to charge me for something called «safe warranty.» I don’t know what that is and it was only $ 1 but I said I would not pay it and had them remove it. Safe warranty? What does that even mean?
Of course, they charged the wrong credit card, the one I reserved with rather than the one I gave them upon checking in.
I wanted a place close to the Fillmore so that was accomplished, but seriously, this place needs to be on Hotel Impossible. Anthony would have a field day.

Perhaps the worst hotel stay I have ever had. I was only in town for the night passing through and tried to save a few dollars. Learned my lesson.
From the moment you walk through the front door, there is a distinct smell that hits you full on in the face. Kind of like a stale smoke ash tray, vomit, and industrial cleaner aroma.
The room it self was small, and to top it all off, the ice machine in the hall was broken.

Spent 1 night here. Should have went to a another hotel for a few dollars more. There was an event and this was the host hotel for it. The bathroom is the size of a closet. literally.
cheap horrible soap. tiny coffee marker barely worked. the TV got about 10 channels that is it. the beds looked like they were from 1985. Wifi was SLOW SLOW got the 4g speed with iPhone as a hot spot with faster internet. VERY Low cellings. It was clean but i have been Motel 6 with better conditions.
We will never go back there again. This part of Colfax has hookers and homeless on every corner. Scary… do NOT go there if you dont have to, the parking lot was VERY small and filled up fast. It was not horrible but no indoor pool OR hot tub very mujch ran down and this place needs a serious makeover or need to be demolished and rebuilt.
Also as a can of Bed Bug and Flea spray laying in the parking lot. EWWWWWWWW!!!
we paid 135 for a room to just shower and flop on a old bed. that was it.

Really nice place. It’s October and still 80 outside yet the pool is closed. Lots of room, friendly staff, great location. Restaurant and bar on site

My stay at the Ramada Inn on Colfax was like something out of a National Lampoon’s movie. Let me preface my review with two things. I lived in Brooklyn for quite a while and I lived in Toledo, OH for a while. I’m from the Detroit area and hang out in Detroit often. I’ve seen things. I’m not someone who hasn’t been exposed to the world’s craziness. I’ve stayed in some BAD hotels. This place might take the cake, however. Full disclosure — I did one of those online secret deals where you don’t know where you’re getting placed to save some money. That’s because I’m cheap.
Roll in here at about 8 o’clock on a Friday. Parking lot is pretty jammed. Walked into the lobby and thought, «This place isn’t bad… not sure what all the bad reviews are about.» Get up to the third floor where I’m staying. Discuss how it’s not too bad. I crack a joke and said, «Wait ’til you get to our wing… that’s what they call Section 8.» Sure enough. We turn a corner and our «wing» has a completely different, Shining-​esque feel to it. Completely different aesthetic. Our door happened to be the one door in the entire hotel (that we noticed) that used an old school key opposed to the key card. Probably the room where they stick people who get really good deals online.
Room is okay. About what I expected. Some noticeable wear. A couple «questionable» marks on the sheets. Nothing ridiculously different than what I expected. Change, head downstairs to go out to dinner and we’re greeted with some girl’s buttcheeks staring us in the face. I don’t know if she was wearing a thong or what. I’m not sure if it was a costume party or if she was a hooker. Either way… there was a lot of buttcheek hanging out. Like 85%. Just hanging out in the lobby of our hotel.
Go to dinner. Come back. parking lot is full because there is some sort of «event» going on at the hotel. I’m pretty sure it was a rave or something. Young kids. Glow sticks. People dressed up weird. I wasn’t always a square who resorted to writing reviews on Unilocal.In another lifetime I would’ve been partying it up with those 18 – 25 year olds and doing bad things and not giving a crap. But I don’t do that anymore and now I hate my 21 year old self because I can’t find a damn parking spot at my hotel. Girl at the front desk tells me to park in the fire lane. Whatever. It’s a rental. I park in the fire lane. Toss and turn all night thinking I’m going to get towed. I don’t. No harm no foul.
Now we’re sitting in our room without power. Waited 20 minutes after no acknowledgement. Called again. Still waiting.
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to bring myself to stay in another Ramada ever again.
Update: Went to a bar after the Rockies game yesterday. Made a comment to the bartender to the effect of, «We’re staying in the worst hotel ever.» She said, «Is it on Colfax?» I said, «Yep.» She said, «Is it the Ramada?» I said, «How’d you know?!» She said, «I used to work right across the street. It’s got a reputation.» So… if you’re from out of town, that should speak volumes.

Gut: Das Hotel würden wir wieder buchen, Preis Leistung ist hervorragend zu Fuß in die Stadt, kostenloser Parkplatz und genug Läden zum Essen in der Ecke
Ort: wie schon erwähnt, Denver City von hier zu Fuß man kommt am State Capitol vorbei (Free Tours), zum Baseball Free Ride Bus bis Blake Street
— sehr zentral gelegen, 5 – 10 Minuten zum kostenlosen City Bus (16^th Street rauf und runter) Ecke Broadway
— das klimatisierte Zimmer war sauber und für EU-​ler groß, das Bad war ebenfalls sauber und ausreichend Handtücher da
— die Türe scheinen in USA nicht immer mit dem Boden abzuschließen, so war ein Lichtspalt zu sehen und Geräusche zu hören, wir haben das mit einem Handtuch (Zugluft-​Stopper) gelöst ;-)
— Frühstück haben wir einmal für 9 $ gemacht, wir haben uns das Buffet vorher angeschaut, es gab bei uns keine Wurst/​Käse (ist auch nicht üblich in USA), es gab Kaffee satt, Bagels, Toast, Muffins, kleine Schoko Croisants, Rührei, Omlett, Speck, Mini Frikadellen (US), Müsli & Co, Obst, Marmelade, Erdnussbutter, Crème (Frischkäse), Whipped Butter
— in der Lobby gab es täglich zwei frische Wasserspender mit Früchten & Co drin
— der kostenlose Parkplatz ist nicht bewacht, wir hatten keine Probleme
— den Pool und evt. weitere Einrichtungen haben wir nicht benutzt
— die Colfax Straße ist eine für Deutsche eine vll. nicht ganz so «angenehme» Straße, es hängen einige Gestalten dort herum (Nähe der Kirche z.B. oder vor einigen Kneipen und anderen Läden), wir haben uns aber trotzdem sicher gefühlt, da die Straße sehr befahren und direkt am State Capitol vorbei führt, ABER es ist sicher nichts jedermans Ding 5 – 10 Minuten hier lang zu laufen, für uns (m43/​w44) aber ok und ohne Probleme

Don’t even bother. Our non-​smoking room reeked of pot for two days, and the non-​smoking hallways smelled like cigarette smoke throughout our stay. We reported it and thanked the front desk, to which they replied, «No, thank you for reporting it, now we get to collect that money,» in reference to the $ 250 smoking fee to be collected from the people smoking. The smells remained, and actually worsened. Additionally, the lock on the front door was broken and a cable outlet was sticking out of the wall (see pictures). We then requested compensation at checkout, and were told the best they could do is $ 25. The assistant/​manager said he couldn’t do anything else. We were inconvenienced, and they made a net of $ 225 on our complaint. The hotel made more money on our legitimate complaint than they did on our 2-​night stay. It was a sad attempt at customer service that only made me more upset.
