Gettin’ tips and sorting through a bunch of crap(the good kind) on a lazy Saturday afternoon? Yes, please. A handful of vendors with a wide range of goods, mostly friendly and willing to bargain with you for the sale. I scored a baggie full of costume jewelry on the cheap and the seller even let me switch out things from the pre-sorted bags.

As you enter The Three Kings Tavern and your eyes adjust to the dark, you will be amazed at the vast array of coolness that surrounds you. Very much like a three ring circus(but with a lot more rings) — there is something for everyone here. LPs, CDs, books, jewelry, clothes, art, doodads, trinkets, posters and more odds and ends than I could possibly describe. Though there are some exceptions, prices start around $ 3. What really made it for me though were the cool cats spending their afternoon here. From dudes wearing bustiers to grown women dressed as Girls Scouts, I love being surrounded by all the weirdos.(I say weirdos lovingly as I feel I am one of them.) With drinks at the bar, a rockin’ band blaring out a semi parked out front and treasures as far as the eye can see — this monthly event is dirty rock n’ roll fun.

I like punk rock. I like flea markets. So, it’s kind of a no brainer that I would like a Punk Rock Flea Market. This is a monthly market at 3 Kings Tavern. It takes place the second Saturday of every month and if you are like me you’ll find yourself there over and over again. Since anyone can set up a table there that wants the products available will change. But, to give you an example here, in no particular order, are some things Nick and I picked up last month at the Punk Rock Flea Market. 1. Vinyl albums by Pat Benatar, Blondie and Billy Idol among others 2. A change purse that was made out of an old Go-Gos cassette. The first song on side B is «We Got The Beat.» The interior is bright yellow felt. 3. An incomplete set of Dragon Ball Z mini figurines. It was also hard to pass up on a bowl that was made out of albums that had been warped to have wavy sides to hold stuff in it. So, as you can see there is a veritable cornucopia of old school treasures here. Plus, you get to drink beer, check out the art gallery downstairs and listen to music. All on a Saturday afternoon. You can thank me next month.

On the 2nd Saturday of every month, Three Kings Tavern hosts THEPUNKROCKFLEAMARKET! Held indoors amid the pool tables and couches, the Market offers up an eclectic mix of arts, crafts, found objects, vintage or locally designed clothing, retro toys, concert posters, ‘zines, jewelery, and more. It’s the perfect way to get out of the hot summer sun or cold winter snow… spending a lazy Saturday afternoon(12pm-6pm) checking out everything you never knew you needed! Bonus: there’s beer! Double bonus: it’s nowhere near as big as the Mile High Flea Market, but it’s 10x cooler because it’s got«Punk Rock» in its title(plus, Mile High just has the same old crap booth after booth). Triple bonus: it’s 100% free to vend your own wares here, just bring your own table and check with the management in advance. Quadruple bonus: support your local artists… hells yeah! Quintuple bonus: I’ll be rockin’ a table there this month… so come check me out!
