Mae has done it again! Not only did she color my hair perfectly with making her own color… but…she did the most amazingly epic hair pin up and make up for my 1940s ball in boulder! Already getting compliments! Cant wait for the next hair style she gives me :)

On the Front Range mixed girl experience:
I should first mention that I had been growing out a Ouidad cut that did *not* work for me from More Than Curly Salon and have been unsatisfied with my hair for the past two years from that experience. I have gone to salons mostly having dry cuts on my hair after straightening which only consider my hair straight/​remove frazzled ends, but did nothing for odd shape of hair that I received from the wet Ouidad style cut. My assumption is that cut would work well for those willing to maintain such every 6 – 8 weeks at a very expensive price *and* who do not wear their straight. Ever.
But this time I wanted to find someone who could consider both styles I like for my hair. I found her and for the first time since I moved to Colorado 6 years ago, I can say I will be a
repeat customer.
Carol is the truth. I am a natural curly who wears straight hair on special occasions. I am mixed with all the things, but mainly AA, Caucasian, and Asian. This makes my particular texture well, particular. Carol worked my curls like a boss, starting with a Diva cut to re-​shape my curls into the rounder look I wanted. Then I had all over, single process color with a veg based dye that SOMEHOW came out looking like a rich chocolate with slight reddish golden balayage to it. Sheer perfection for my first time doing all over color! She then blow dried and flat-​ironed and finished the ends off a bit more with some quick snips here and there. After wearing my straight hair for a week (which is pushing it for me as my hair is also fine) I am able to style the curls just as I’d hoped and they are poppin!
And of note: her salon is not stuffy. The staff keeps it real and it’s a family friendly place to boot. Those two things can be close to impossible to find!
Did I mention she stocks PBR with all this goodness?
Obviously I could go on b/​c I can’t say enough about this lady and what she has created which was sorely missing from the Denver and Front Range hair scene. But I will end it here saying that based on my experience, I recommend you book your next appointment here!

Carol. Yep. She’s as great as the Aspens are gold.
In a nutshell, I’m one of those formerly-​blonde-​and-​no-​longer-​yet-​unable-​to-​resist-​the-​temptation-​to-​get-​new-​blonde-​highlights-​every-​3-​months kind of blondes. Sprinkle in some bad hair stylist experiences and I was looking pretty shabby when I sulked into Pangaea yesterday.
Enter Carol. Spunky and sweet and hands down the most genuine hair dresser I have ever met. Bear in mind I am there mid-​day Saturday — surely the busiest of moments for a hair salon — and regardless, Carol consulted with me for about 15 minutes, provided options, asked clarifying questions, and recruited her fellow stylists to help devise the best course of action for my sad mop.
While Carol went to work over the next 2 hours I genuinely enjoyed the people/​hair watching at this eclectic, community-​driven shop — from the 4^th grader getting pink foils to the elderly black woman coming in for her weekly ‘do. Pangaea truly embodies what its name promotes and its beautiful.
Oh, and so was my hair. I’ve never been so happy with a color job. After meticulous highlights and low lights and root touch-​up and toner and a great shampoo/​condition and blow-​dry, I felt a kind of hair happiness that I haven’t felt in years. Finally my hair is mine again! And I didn’t have to retire the blonde altogether; Carol created this beautiful blend in my hair, a Pangaea of the old and the new and EXACTLY what I wanted.
The best part came at the end. After redeeming my Unilocal deal, I owed $ 50. $ 50 to fix my mess of a color situation makes me feel like I was the recipient of some incredibly generous pro bono work. What’s more, Carol reminded me that she offers a 20% discount to teachers because we tend to be underpaid and arguable undervalued :) And finally, she insisted that if I am AT ALL displeased with the final product, that I let her know immediately so that she can fix it.

A male friend of mine really enjoys this salon. I came here on a whim, I was on my way to a nearby establishment and thought I’d pop in for a quick bang trim. Natalia helped me and was an absolute delight. I hate washing my hair and expressed that to her, she gladly gave me a nice cleaning and a great scalp massage. The bangs turned out cool and she even gave me a quick end trim. After all this was done, she offered all these services as ‘complimentary’ for being a new client. Score! The space is very cool, and I love the Christopher Walkens Welcome sign on the door, clever! The prices are very reasonable and they don’t try to push expensive product on you. Overall, a great neighborhood salon with a fun and quirky vibe.

Even the straight bros in my office said it’s the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. Ask for Brian and be glad you did!

Highly, highly recommend this salon! Friendly atmosphere, funky art and styling. Great cut for less than fifty bucks. Dana listened to what I wanted and executed it to perfection. Plus, the girl cracks me up! Will definitely be back.

Marco did great on bringing my hair back to life! I’m an awful client when it comes to getting my hair cut because I hate hair cuts. I put them off for way too long and when it is finally time to surrender, I usually tell them I want the bare minimum cut off. Marco offered me a deep condition treatment so that we could recover some of my damaged ends and not have to cut off as much! My hair looked and felt ammmmmazing once I left his chair and I didn’t have a total melt down from the amount he cut off.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Dana worked on my hair today & I absolutely LOVED it! She’s amazing! She has natural talent working with hair. I’m extremely picky with who lays a finger on it besides myself and she definitely did not let me down. I actually booked my next appointment the same day :) definitely a salon I will recommend to all my friends.

The first time I came I had Carol and she did a phenomenal job. This time I had Marco and he really wow’d me too. My initial appointment had to be rescheduled and he came in on his day off to accommodate my hectic schedule.
My hair is naturally curly, and I’d been wearing it fro’d all week. Marco worked some kind of magic and got it straighter and softer than its been in years. He was also great in explaining what each product was going to do for my hair, and went so far as to let me sample a treatment before I commit to getting the full one done. I highly recommend Marco, he’s a treat.

Where can I begin… I guess the 5 stars says it all! My whole family goes to this salon and that is saying something. Carol, the owner, treat you as if you’re one of her sisters. Her color technique is awesome, I have very thick hair and she always does a great job. They use Kevin Murphy products which I really like too. My boys often go to Marco who is also fantastic. Today I had Dana because Carol was busy and she knocked it out of the park too. Not only did the color come out wonderful but I loved the style.

Carol is one of my favorite people in the world and to make things even better, she always does an incredible job on my hair! I change styles and colors more often than my wardrobe and she always amazes me! You’ll never go anywhere else!

A cute, well put together little shop on Colfax. I went to Kenny after having chickened out of the long bob I wanted at a previous salon and he nailed it. Seriously. I have a stupid amount of hair and he worked through it like it was nothing. Not only is it one of the best haircuts I’ve had, it was done start to finish in 30 minutes. I don’t usually have that experience. Go there. Give him all your money. You won’t regret it.

I really enjoy coming here when I need a hair cut or my beard trimmed. Not only are they amazing with their work they are great folks to talk to while your getting serviced. Highly recommend!

I visited Pangaea once before my most recent visit. My mom and I came upon this salon looking on the internet. Our first visit left us perfectly satisfied and content with our hair. Natalia and Marco did an amazing job and their personalities were the same.
Recently my mom and I went back. I was scheduled with Kenny and my mother with Marco. Unfortunately I was very displeased with the way my hair was left. I specifically asked for ombré hair. I showed Kenny a picture and was very frustrated with his approach. My hair was far from ombré and it was very rushed. He was very rough and left my head aching by the time we were finished. I received very thick and choppy highlights instead of ombré hair. Throughout my session he looked lost and would continuously ask around for things. A good hairstylist is one who knows what tools to use, how to use them, and where they are located. I was extremely nervous from the beginning. In the end my hair was far from what I wanted and his price was ridiculously high. I was charged 175 $ for something that was absolutely not what I wanted. I will not be booking any appointments with him anymore. I recommend that you book appointments with the more experienced hairstylists in the salon. Marco did an amazing job once again on my mother and he is always willing to work with you anytime! Natalia had previously done ombré hair on a girl while I was there and it looked beautiful!

I discovered Pangaea thru a stylist Kenny. Kenny has been doing my hair for years and I literally would follow him to the moon to have him cut and color my hair. I Seasonally change the color of my hair and Kenny is patient with my ever wanting a change, he’s quick (but thorough) and when I request a trim that’s exactly what I receive. No scissor crazies here! Pangaea is an adorable salon, with an artsy feel. The stylists are friendly, warm and I enjoy the relaxed vibe. on a final note I had the pleasure of having, If your looking to break up with your current hair dresser, or new to Denver check out Pangaea and Kenny, or one of there other talented stylists.

I came upon Pangaea totally as a fluke. I’ve been going to cheaper chain salons just to get touch ups because I have historically had really awful hair stylists who would just either flat out not listen to what I say or for some reason didn’t care about what I asked for. My normal place was closed, so I just hit up Unilocal for the next closest place that was open and Pangaea was it!
I’ve been seeing Natalia for the last few months and she is just the best. She’s got such a cute and bubbly personality, is really easy to talk to, personable, and is great at talking with you through your ideas and coming up with a really awesome result. She takes her time and is a perfectionist. I’ve had friends go to her, and they all love her now too! Her prices are super reasonable and I will definitely keep going to her as long as I live in the area. So happy to have someone that I know I can go to and get what I want without having major hair cut anxiety over it.

I wanted to try Pangaea Salon because:
1. It’s about 3 blocks from my house
2. Science was my jam in school, so when something’s called Pangaea, my inner nerd loves it.
3. The MISSION. I love that they want to serve people with ALL hair types. I think if you’re a real-​deal salon, you should be able to serve anyone who walks in the door regardless of their hair type.
I have the flattest hair of all time. It has no desire to do anything but be boring. However, Marco made it do *something*. It has a little wave. Yes, he had to put a boatload of hair product in it, but it has texture, which is nothing short of a miracle.
