Palma Cigars

My girlfriend and I found this gem a few months ago and it quickly became our favorite place. The music, the atmosphere, the amazing service, and everyone, from Clay to Mike to Nova, is incredible friendly. The cigars are way above bar and the staff are all knowledgeable about them. And their selection of spirits are amazing. I cannot recommend Las Palmas enough and encourage all my friends to visit, and visit often.

Great place to relax with good company, enjoy a drink and hand rolled cigar, and pass time. You are missing out if you don’t ask Mike for his suggestions on both cigars and drink pairings.

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to write a 5 star review. Seems like small businesses have lost that personal touch.
I’m not a regular cigar smoker, but my wife and I really love stopping by this place when we are out on a date and want to sit on the patio and enjoy a hand rolled cigar. These cigars have a really nice aroma and smoke incredibly well. I recommend Clay’s own red label cigar. And if cigars aren’t your thing, they also now serve drinks, and the quaint ambiance is a nice change from the other crowded and noisy venues in Lodo. Service is beyond friendly.
Highly recommend a visit if you’re looking for something new and different do to in Downtown Denver. And be sure to say hi to Clay, who is an outstanding guy.

Thumbs up to the owner for hosting a Big Brothers, Big Sisters event over the weekend. Other than that, you can’t beat the hand rolled cigars selection and the laid back atmosphere.

Terrible. Poor selection. Poorly kept cigars. Dry and chalky. Had to ask for a double in order to get a full ounce.

I really love this place. Clay and his wife are amazing people. I first visited Palma a few years back and was enthralled with the atmosphere, wine, French jazz, and a beautiful Denver evening.
Since I started a new job about 7 blocks away, I find myself there at least twice a week. I love this place.

I love a place that’s not only comfortable, but also has character. Clay, the owner, has a great selection of cigars in addition to rolling his own. He also offers men’s haircuts! This place is a little diamond in the rough and is a great place to hangout with a small group of friends to enjoy good conversation, good wine, and great cigars.

I would love to actually be able to check this place out. Looks cool from the windows. And i really dig the artisan vibe. However;
Ive been by there 3 separate times. And they have been closed every time.(During the open hours they have posted online) And there are no hours posted on the door.
So, unfortunately ive given up. :-(

I’ve had the pleasure of coming in here a couple of times. They have a great selection of cigars and some they roll themselves. They are incredibly tasty, better than most brands you can buy elsewhere. There always seems to be a gentleman named Terry pouring drinks and cutting cigars. He is really easy going, excellent knowledge of the wine and cigars.
One thing to keep in mind is they only have wine, so if you want other booze, you will not have an option here, but you can always take your cigars to go.

Love this place. Clay makes you feel at home, rolls is own custom cigars and does a damn fine haircut too! Great place to chill, hang and relax!

I just moved to the neighborhood and was out walking with my parents who were in town for the weekend. We were intrigued by the numerous antique light fixtures (my mom antiques) and decided to check out Palma Cigars. What a treat!
I am a novice aficionado of cigars, my dad has enjoyed them for many years and my mom is not a fan (so their hearty ventilation system was put to the test).
Terry (the bartender) helped me pick out one of the yellow label cigars (hand rolled by the owner), a black label for my dad (also hand rolled) and appeased my mother with a great selection of Coloradan wines.
In all it was a great experience for each member of our party and great to meet someone who was so welcoming to the neighborhood. I will definitely be back in again with more friends, Terry!

To Caleb… I was at the party that you mention in yoy r review. Yes, Palma was CLOSED for a private party. I was sitting at the bar when you walked up and asked the bartender.. «Oh, are you closed for a party? » the bartender went out of his way to take care of you. You said that you just wanted to grab a qick cigar. so to recap, you came into a business that was closed, and hosting a private party. An employee dropped whay he was doing (taking care of a party guest) to take care of you and walk you over to the humidor. At this point, you should have paid and left. But you decided to attempt to crash the party and make yourself at home. Poor form my friend. Several hints from the staff went unheaded. private party. not a free buffet for random sniveling knuckleheads party.

Friendly people. You can also grab a great glass of wine. This place is a hidden Jewell that any serious cigar aficionado should experience. Terry «the man» is also very well versed in cigars and can steer u in the right direction

I was introduced to Palma this last spring and have repeatedly returned for the good service and company that can be found there. Palma offers a relaxed vibe any day of the week. The background music is mostly the great classics of Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and more. The décor is an eclectic mix of Cuban culture that adds character and warmth. One can make themselves at home in the leather couches and chat the night away with friends or sit at the bar and visit with the regular clientele.
The thing I appreciate about Palma the most and the main reason I have continued to return is the staff. The owner Clay is a true gentleman and craftsman of rolling his own cigars. He can often be seen sitting in the front window of Palma hand rolling cigars in true tradition.
Terry /​Manager can be found behind the bar and is someone who truly knows how to take care of his customers whether by simply engaging in conversation, choosing a glass of wine or accompanying them to select the perfect cigar. If you are looking for loud music, crowded space, flashing lights and staff who don’t give a dam… this is not the place.
Palma has an old world charm that is rarely seen in Denver. It offers something different and classy for people who are looking for a quality excursion. Even for those who don’t smoke cigars. Now that’s the key. Heck, you can even get a professional shoe shine while you’re at it!

Just like all the other reviews, mine is 5 stars. This is a cool spot to relax, enjoy some good conversation and a great cigar!
The staff is very knowledgeable on the different flavors, styles of cigar, etc.
As others have mentioned, I wish they had something other than wine to go with the cigars but a strong red is a good alternative to the traditional scotch.
The owner, Clay, is a very cool guy and he’ll also hook you up with a hair cut if you feel like getting one in while enjoying your cigar.
This place is low key and has a very chill vibe to it. Good place to start your night early or stop in for a smoke after work. Looking forward to my next visit.

My one complaint with Palma isn’t really a complaint since I knew it going in, but I still feel like I have to mention that I wish they had more than just wine. Wine is probably last on my list of things I like to drink with a cigar. But the Colorado wines they had were pretty good, for being wine!
I’ve heard of Palma’s for a while and they’ve been on my list to try ever since I saw Clay rolling his own cigar’s at the Cigar Fest. We finally made the trek downtown to give them a shot on a Saturday afternoon.
The humidor is definitely homemade — and humid! There’s a good selection of the home rolled stuff and a few retail brands, but why would you go here if you don’t want to smoke the Palma’s?
We got a selection of cigars and everything we tried was awesome. My wife got the hazelnut, which is one of the sweetest cigars I’ve ever had. The smoke just made everything smell better!
They were dead when we went in and I didn’t see any air returns so I imagine when they’re busy it’s very cloudy in there.

A cigar store Indian greats you as you walk into Palma. The place it self is a low key comfy spot with leather couches at the front, a long humidor off to one side, a wine bar on the other side and a couple barber chairs in the back. This isn’t a fancy type of place, but it is high quality.
The hubby and I tried the Palma hand rolled brand. I opted for the hazelnut flavored cigar and it did not disappoint. It was almost a dessert cigar. Hazelnut filled my mouth and the smoke sweetened the room. The wine was good, even though it is generally not my thing. I do like that they carry Colorado wines — nice to support local vineyards.
The lady helping us was knowledgeable and friendly. The cigars were top notch and the atmosphere was relaxed. I can definitely see coming back! Hopefully next time we can catch Clay rolling some cigars.
