These guys represent everything I look for in an independent BMW mechanic. The combination of knowledge, passion, and integrity mean so much to me when it comes to servicing my beloved vehicles. In this instance, I was purchasing a 2002 BMW 540i/​6M across country, sight unseen. Luckily, a good friend of mine highly recommended Doug and team to do a pre-​purchase inspection on the vehicle. Thankfully, I was working with a willingly compliant dealer in town, and Doug was able to diagnose and complete a number of critical repairs prior to my drive home at a very reasonable price. Doug squeezed in a number of critical repairs overnight and met with me on a Saturday, when the shop is closed, just so that I could complete my transaction with the dealer and get home for work and family commitments. It was awesome to have a real enthusiast completing work on my car. I am happy to say that I made the cross-​country trip home without drama. This might not have been the case had it not been for Doug & team. I really wish he could service my car regularly! It goes without saying that I highly recommend Paddock Imports for your German auto repair needs!

The first time I visited Paddock’s I was very impressed. Communication was excellent and my car was repaired within a couple of days. Granted, it was a quick fix. What a difference a year can make. Paddock had my car for a month over what they said it would take. There was no communication and trying to get a straight answer out of Doug was nearly impossible. It was always ‘we need to order a part’ or ‘we had an emergency’ or something that delayed my repair. The professionalism was also lacking in that while I was sitting in the waiting area, I could audibly hear Doug bad mouthing other customers. I would never recommend any business that wouldn’t treat everybody with the same amount of respect. The only difference I could see is that the old service writer was all about helping the customer and Doug is only all about himself. It’s really a shame that what I considered a respected business has gone down hill. I would certainly recommend the technicians, but only if they worked somewhere else.

This shop is the absolute best! Doug Paddock is simply awesome. I have a 2011 BMW X3 and Doug literally saved me $ 4000. My vehicle was just off warranty when I took it in to have my summer tires put on this past May … routine stuff. I had literally taken my car into the dealer 2 months earlier (while it was still under warranty) for an oil change and a final inspection prior to going out of warranty. Doug discovered an oil leak that should have been caught by the dealer as well as a steering column issue that in his opinion was a longer term issue than just a few months. He stopped his guys from working on my car and called me to update me… and then when I went to pick it up, he carefully coached me on what to say to the dealer to get these two items covered under my recently expired warranty. I took careful notes and made an appointment with the dealer. With Doug’s coaching, my conversation went well with the dealer and they repaired both items and did it under the warranty (no cost to me). At the end of the day, Doug saved me almost $ 4000. He’s honest and good. I’ll never go anywhere else. We also take a 2008 Mini Cooper to Doug… since purchasing it used, we’ve had a few chronic issues that another local garage was never able to remedy. Doug’s team corrected all of these issues on the first try. We are loyal to Doug and his team. I don’t write many reviews. In fact, this is my first one. These guys are top notch!

As the daughter of a Mercedes-​Benz engineer, my expectations for service and honesty are unfairly high; but Doug exceeds them every time. I’ve literally spent months with other dealers trying to chase down elusive, intermittent, electrical gremlins, and watched Doug diagnose them within 5 minutes. My used e46 had plenty of «edge» when I first brought it to Paddocks for a diagnostic, and I was speechless when I received a list of things that I DIDNT need to fix, when I knew he could have told me I had 3k worth of «necessary» repairs.
Doug keeps a sense of humour that instantly eases my anxious «what’s wrong with my baby?» nerves, and his unwaveringly brutal honesty, and flawless work brings me back time and time again. I’ve come to value his opinion on everything from insurance claims to financial planning knowing that the talk will be straight and and the advice will be rock-​solid. I can’t express how much I appreciate the fact that Doug’s never too busy to take the time to actually sit down and explain the ins and outs of German engineering to a twenty-​something year old. I wouldn’t bring my car or my business anywhere else!

This shop is the best. Good real people not out to milk ya! I knocked a brake sensor loose on a pothole and they were kind enough to just hook it back up and wouldn’t take any money for it. A class act.

Paddock imports is the best repair shop I have ever known. I had previously had my BMW serviced by a BMW dealer, who paid their mechanics a quarterly bonus based on how many new repair items they could get a customer to buy. Paddock looks out for my best interest, letting me know what really needs to be done, and more importantly they let me know what preventative steps to take in the future. They remind me of a good primary care doctor. I would highly recommend them! !

I worked with Doug who was great! It does not take long to realize that this is a straight forward and honest company to work with. They are busy for a reason. I would not hesitate to bring my car back to this location.

5 years later, I go to Paddock every time my car needs work. It is now one of those spots I almost hate to review, lest it get over-​crowded, but they deserve it. My most recent experience there entailed my wipers breaking. It turns out they didn’t break, just needed a minor repair and it was a quick and easy fix, so they didn’t even charge me.
They could’ve charged me $ 200 and lied to me about some fetzer valve and I would’ve been none the wiser… or charged me $ 50 because it took them 30 minutes to move my car, look at it, and fix the simple problem, and I would’ve gladly paid. But they did it for free.
Doug is a good person and Paddock Imports is a good shop. I hate to see them move, but I will follow.

Really great experience with Paddock. We got a quote from the dealer that Paddock beat by almost $ 500. They kept us informed throughout the diagnosis and repair process. Great work at a fair price.

This place is great. They work insanely fast and also work really hard to get you in and out as soon as possible. I also really appreciate that they will do whatever they can to get you in the shop when you need them. I’ve always found their pricing to be extremely fair, especially for the high quality work. You can count on this place to be honest with you and provide the truth on your car, so I’d trust them 110% which is important especially when you are talking German cars. Id also highly recommend this place for pre-​purchase inspection (ppi) if you are looking to buy a German car. Anyhow, overall really nice genuine people with a love for the cars and their customers. Do yourself a favor and never go back to the dealer.

Went to Paddock Imports to get some tires and other service work done. I have 5 cars and am very picky about who touches them. Doug gave me a great price and did a great job! Was impressed with their professional attitude and attention to detail. Will be back soon! Thanks guys!

I decided to visit this place based on a recommendation from a friend. But what worries me is that I didn’t see a familiar face, no other Audi. I did see a cousin, a Porsche so that was a sigh of relief. Overall, I felt that the service was positive as my car ran well and if you asked me «How do I know?», because I can tell. The gauges indicated cooler temps so I know I got premium fluids infused. Yes I’m satisfied but the only complaint I have is the breakdown in price was confusing, so 4 (stars), no more. Professional, clean, and worth follow up visits.

Very impressed with their customer service and the help they provided! To fix my window on my BMW was a very reasonable price — I am just disappointed that I did not find them before I move back to DC.

As good as it gets! I have a BMW X5 2001 and these pros handle her with the same love and care I give and she deserves.
She isn’t the youngest cat on the block so you can see why I would want only people who really know what they are doing to work on her. I can actually trust that every time I get her back she doesn’t come home with even more problems then before I dropped her off. These guys have tons of patience and took their time to answer my questions in layman’s terms lol.
If you feel the same way about your car as I do about mine then you will not waste time or money (trust me) by going somewhere else who may seem less expensive.

I can’t say enough about what a great experience, I had with Doug and his crew. I had taken my 6 series to Avalon Motorsports, where I was over quoted. I thought I would get a second opinion. So I took my car down to Paddock Imports. Not only did my car not need the repairs that Avalon quoted, their quote was significantly higher then what Paddocks quoted when it was time for the repairs. Long story short my car has not returned to Avalon Motorsports, and Doug has been the only one to service and repaired my BMW over the past 2 years. Their great mechanics I trust. I’ll never take my BMW anywhere else! Doug is the man!

I live in southern California and have never purchased a car sight unseen. With a particular affinity for late ‘90s M cars, it so happened that the car I elected to buy was located 1000 miles from my home, in Denver. Having scoured the BMW forums for recommendations on the right place to perform a pre purchase inspection, all roads led to Paddock and specifically to Doug; what a phenomenal experience it was.
I explained my situation and could not have been more satisfied with Doug’s willingness to help. Not only did he make room in his busy schedule for an inspection, he provided some excellent recommendations on how best to prepare it for the long drive back home and ensured it was well equipped to complete the journey. I was so confident in Doug’s honesty that I booked a one way ticket to pick up the car per his recommendation. After arriving in Denver and looking over the car, it was exactly as he described. It’s obvious that Doug values integrity and his customers as much as the quality of his work.
The only problem I now face is finding a shop as good as Paddock closer to home.
As a long time BMW enthusiast having experienced MANY different shops across the country, I would recommend Paddock to anyone.

If you need repair on your car … Skip paddock! They used to be good, but I think with the economy being on a downturn they’ve become less concerned with good service and more concerned with getting a check from you for services rendered.
These are not good services either. My car was stalling and idle was obviously off, car when sitting idle was surging also. They didn’t correct the problem … Within three days of leaving the car had same problem. I thought it odd when I picked it up that they had it running to warm it up. And mechanic was standing at counter as I paid.
Additionally I had a problem with an extreme shutter going through 50mph and the steering wheel would shake and shutter and then smooth out. Brakes had already been changed, tie rods recently replaced and an alignment had been done. So whatever they did the problem was back shortly after.
I called and talked with guy at desk and he kinda laughed saying «well, you don’t always get on first try.» $ 1000 after the fact! My job does not afford me the time to be screwing around with mechanics that can’t get it right the first time.
They had noticed a crack in my windshield, and when in there he said they could fix it. What he didn’t know was I already had called a guy who comes to your house and would do it for $ 180. So I asked paddock what they would charge … $ 300, until I told him my quote, and then he said if we can get same price can we do it? I’m convinced now they just rolled the extra cost into other things they did.
I expect honesty and quality work from an auto place when you’re spending that much money.

I do not have the time with my job to be going back and forth to an auto repair shop. The least place you need someone guessing and charging you exorbitant fees for repair is an auto repair shop. I expect the same quality as I get from a doctor from

Paddock saved my relationship with this amazing car!
After a year of HORRIBLE experiences with the Denver BMW dealer [ridiculous misdiagnoses and regularly the car coming out of the dealer with more problems than it went in with], I was ready to cut my losses and trade for a far less-​wonderful car. After finding Paddock, and now three years later — and with 140,000 on by 5-​series car, I am absolutely back in love with this [now very-​used] car.
I trust them. Its wonderful that often they catch little things before they get to be big problems. And, often, they alert me to big expenses six months or more before they «need» to be addressed.
I’ve spent lots of money with them — and I’ll happily spend a lot more. They are not cheap [no one good is cheap]. Its my opinion that they are the best around. I trust them. I like them. And I am so happy I found them. :-)
