EPIC! What can I say about the Epic Patagonia Trip through OneSeed Expeditions. It was amazing! I am writing this review almost two months after my trip but it still feels like I just got back from the trip yesterday. I do not write many reviews but I loved this trip so much that I want others to experience it.
I booked the trip in February 2015 along with ten of my friends to make our own group for the first trip of the season in November 2015 (Team Chin Chin). The booking process was fast and easy. We worked with Sally on the OneSeed end to figure out flight and she was very helpful with any questions that we had about the trip.
I flew from Los Angeles Airport stopped in Lima, Peru a couple of hours then landed in Santiago Airport where Sergio from OneSeed met us with a van to take us to Casa Bonita. It is a little cute bed and breakfast place nothing fancy but has everything you need and close to the subway. We stayed at here the first two nights and last night of our trip. This is great because you can leave any bags and excess luggage that you will not need in Patagonia. I bought some wine at the winery and souvenirs that I didn’t have to lug around.
We left early in the morning in a van 3:45am back to Santiago airport where we flew into Punta Arenas Airport and met one of our guides Felipe K. who welcomed us with handmade cookies and a cheerful attitude. He got us on a bus to Portal Natales where we transferred onto another bus to Patagonia. This day is a bit tiring because it is all travel. Don’t let this intimidate you because once you get into Patagonia it will be worth all of the travel. You will get to see some animals like flamingos and guanacos along the way going into Patagonia.
We had two guides Felipe K. and Jorge C. They were the best guides ever. One will be up front for the faster hikers and one will be at the back for the not as fast hikers. They were both really nice, funny and accommodating to everyones needs. Felipe had knowledge about everything and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Jorge was very funny and knowledgeable about Patagonia. A mountain man by day and a magician at night. It was a perfect team. They made the hike extra special and fun. Patagonia itself is a very large beautiful area and you are close to Antarctica so be prepared with layering of lightweight clothes. We trekked about 50 miles during throughout Patagonia in Torres del Paine National Park. It is a very beautiful place. Very clean, air is so fresh, water you drink right out of the stream. The trails are pretty straightforward. You will experience something new everyday from forest areas, grasslands, rocky mountains, glaciers. The weather is unpredictable from windy, rainy, and sunny. You will be one with nature. Some days you will need only daypacks when you stay at the same refugio other days you will carry everything. The people are all nice that work at the refugios and you make friends with guests because they will most likely be doing the W Circuit also. All the refugios were a lot nicer than I expected. All had hot water, the beds were not bad, people were nice, charging stations, alcohol and snacks for purchase. Pictures do not do this place justice. It is amazingly beautiful and the color of the water and glaciers is unbelievable. You must see it for yourself.
On our way back we stayed a night in Puerto Natales. It is a cute beach town city. We stayed at the Amerindia Hostel. It was very cute and artsy. This is where we had our farewell dinner with our guides. We left the next day on the bus back to Punta Arenas to fly back to Santiago. We stayed one night in Santiago and flew back to LAX.
I personally was looking for a get away from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles and work life. You gradually get into this trip through Santiago, which is city life to less hustle and bustle through Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales. When in Patagonia I was away from my e-​mails, internet, traffic, smog. It was so refreshing and I had nothing on my mind except what I wanted to concentrate on and nature. It was great exercise, I had great company around me, memories that I will never forget. The process of booking the trip was easy. The price is not bad for all that is provided in the trip. Saves you the headache also to coordinate the flight with the buses, refugios and getting your permits for Torres del Paine. It is a tour but you still have a lot of freedom. The guides are the best like you’ve known them for years. It was very hard to come back. I wanted to stay there forever. It is such a beautiful place and my experience was life changing. Thank you OneSeed team for putting together such a great trip I am thinking about doing one of the other trips in the near future.

I have been on 2 OneSeed Expeditions, both Patagonia and Macchu Picchu and their service is top notch. I am traveler and adventure seeker and working with OneSeed has been a highlight for me. They take everything to the next level starting with front-​end customer service to on-​the-​trail experience. They don’t cut corners and I would highly recommend using OneSeed on your next trip!

I was able to travel with Oneseed to Patagonia and absolutely was taken care of. We even had an emergency happen, and Oneseed took care of us as a team and for that individual. I didn’t have to worry while I was on vacation. Their guides were very intelligent and skilled. And I am very thankful for this company. I had the best vacation of a lifetime with them. Not even exaggerating!

Incredible group of people. I went to Patagonia with Oneseed and they took care of every detail. The guide was outstanding! Unfortunately I had a medical incident there due to my own prior condition. Oneseed was there with me every step of the way to help out and ensure all medical details were taken care of. I highly recommend this expedition group!

Loved getting to experience the famous W trek with OneSeed. Their guides are the best. Knowledgeable, kind, and make you feel safe. Looking forward to adventuring with OneSeed again in the future.

WOW. I cannot say enough great things about OneSeed Expeditions and the Epic Patagonia trip I took this past November! I was lucky enough to go on the Epic Patagonia trip in a private group of 11 with my husband, some of my best friends and family. It is a trip that we will all remember forever! To start, booking was super easy and Sally answered all of our questions and made booking seamless and easy. They were also so helpful with any travel questions that came up. We were greeted in Santiago by Sergio and he was really great in explaining what the trip was going to be like and arranging all the logistics — we didn’t have to do anything! We spent a day at Huelken winery, met the most awesome pup, Augustina, and also drank some great organic wines!
For the main event, we took a super early flight to Punta Arenas and then a 2 – 3 hour bus ride to Puerto Natales, where we met our amazing and knowledgable guides, Felipe and Jorge (actually Felipe picked us up at the airport)! We all agreed that they played a big part in how much fun we all had during this trip. Felipe and Jorge are so knowledgable about the park and the trail — they also made sure that we all went at a pace that was comfortable for each of us individually. My knee started to hurt after the second day, and Felipe wrapped it up for me! Jorge knew everyone on the trail — I think he was the most popular guy in the park! He is also so nice and is a great magician! Anyone who is lucky enough to get him on a trek, you should definitely ask him to show you his card tricks! These guys were really great!
Along the trails, we were able to fill up our water bottles with fresh glacier water, which is SO fresh and clean tasting — some of the best water ever!
We had great weather for most of the trip, but by the time we got to Glaciar Grey, the weather was rainy and a bit windy, so unfortunately we weren’t able to do the kayak or the ice hike. Felipe and Jorge arranged with Big Foot (the company that runs the kayak and ice hikes) to take us to a little rock island close to the glacier in a speed boat so that we could get photos with the glacier.
The refugios were much nicer than I had expected — the dinner meals were all tasty and the rooms were pretty clean. They supplied lunches for us daily (you should expect sandwiches, with an apple or orange, and either a granola bar or trail mix). Most of the refugios even had a bar or at the very least, you could order beer or wine!
The trek was definitely challenging, but not undoable. There is a lot of hills and incline (don’t be fooled by the net elevation that’s listed in the itinerary, like I was!). Definitely do a few hilly hikes before you go! I also definitely recommend using hiking poles. We saw some of the most beautiful sights and scenes, and to be able to experience this trip with friends and family made this trip extra special.
I highly recommend booking a Patagonia trip with OneSeed — it would have taken us so much time, research, and effort to book this trip on our own. We probably wouldn’t have scheduled the trip so efficiently either. We didn’t feel limited by being on an organized tour — it was just really well put together and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

It’s been a month since Epic Patagonia (went first week of Nov), and we have not stopped thinking and dreaming about being back there. Our group of eleven friends (Team ChinChin!) booked the trip one year in advance with Sally at OneSeed. Sally was so great to work with and made the booking process incredibly easy for all of us, and was also super helpful and quick to respond to all our questions. Sergio, our local guide in Santiago, took care of all the travel logistics — we never had to worry about a thing! Visiting the vineyard in Maipo Valley and learning about the local wines was such a treat. Our trekking guides in Torres Del Paine, Felipe and Jorge, were awesome!!! These guys were fun, professional, and just the best guides ever. Food was tasty and the lodges were cozy. We always felt so well taken care of. Nothing like spending 6 days bonding with friends and meeting new friends along the way. Epic Patagonia truly lives up to the name! For anyone looking for an adventure without having to worry about planning out the details, this trip is for you!

I took a trip with OneSeed two years ago to Nepal and it was a fabulous trip! My husband and I will be going on their first accent Kilimanjaro trip this spring which we are really looking forward to! All of our guides were fabulous and the trip was well planned out and OneSeed was very receptive to answering calls and logistics!

ONESEED IS FANTASTIC! My dad, sister and I traveled with OneSeed to Patagonia, Chile and had an incredible time (and the trip is easily my #1 escapist daydream to this day!). OneSeed offers a unique service in that it does all the legwork for planning for a trip, but gives you the flexibility to explore and have your own adventures. We stayed in beautiful boutique hotels, ate dinner at the cutest establishments and never rode around in a big bus that screamed tourist! The trekking guides Roberto and Jorge were both professional and fun, and taught us about local wildlife and culture. WE EVEN SAW A PUMA! Our group was wonderful with people from all ages and backgrounds, and we stay in touch to this day. My dad says he hopes to go on every one of OneSeed’s trips!
If you’re on the fence, BOOK THE TRIP. I guarantee you won’t regret it.

Great company who took good care of us. I highly recommend this group to explore Chile Patagonia. They knew the trail and the people working the refugios. It was nice to have preferential dinner seating at the refugios. The prior arrangements by OneSeed made this possible. Keep up the good work.

Just went on the Epic Patagonia excursion organized and led by OneSeed. Boy o boy it was an adventure. I’ve been trying to go to Patagonia for 20 years and OneSeed did not disappoint. In a word simply Awesome! Torres Del Paine is a must visit place very special to me. Our guides Roberto and Nili, were very professional, friendly and downright nice. Sergio our coordinator in Santiago took care of every detail and was clear on time schedules and trip details. Our 6-​day trek in TDP was truly fantastic. Best of all was the group of fine people I met, hiked and bonded with who made my trip wonderful. From day one Oneseed exceeded my expectations a wonderful organization and trust me I know professional organizations. You can’t go wrong booking with them.

I just returned from the aptly named Epic Patagonia excursion organized and led by OneSeed. It was definitely a trip of a lifetime! Torres Del Paine is nothing short of spectacular and our guides, Roberto and Nili, were the BEST. We started with a day in Santiago and side trip to Valpariso (on our own) then were treated to a private tour and lunch at a family winery in the Maipo Valley. Our 6-​day trek in TDP followed and was truly epic! Accommodations were decent in the refugios and the staff very attentive and friendly. Our party of 11, including our guides, bonded tightly over the 10 days as we traveled, hiked, explored, sang and shared our stories. Our farewell dinner in Puerto Natalas was quite emotional and I now have new life-​long friends. I will surely book with OneSeed again!

My friends and I did OneSeed’s Epic Patagonia trip in February (this review is long overdue) and had a truly amazing time! OneSeed’s team was extremely helpful in the months leading up to the trip, answering all of our frequent questions promptly, and during the expedition itself. All the logistics involved with the expedition were taken care of seamlessly and their team even helped us with logistics for our travels after the expedition as we stayed on longer to explore the region. Needless to say, each OneSeed member we encountered along the way was extremely friendly, helpful, and fun. Being in community/​economic development, the fact that OneSeed invests in microfinance efforts in the regions they have expeditions was icing on the cake! Why wouldn’t I go through them?
Our guides in particular (both named Jorge) were absolutely the best! We had such a great time with them. They were a great combination of knowledgeable, helpful, and fun. We wish they could go on all of our trips with us! Our group included 4 of us from Chicago, 2 people from the west coast, and 2 from the east coast. We were lucky that we got a great group and we all still keep in touch. In fact, we had such a great time that 6 of us from the Epic Patagonia trip recently signed up for OneSeed’s Kilimanjaro Summit and Safari Expedition next February! Can’t wait — only wish the 2 Jorges and the 2 west coasters from our group could go!

The last trip to Nepal was a lifetime experience and so special to me now. Nepal is a unique country with amazing trails, nature, wildlife and just beautiful people that are open and willing to share their culture with guests. Our guide Goma was friendly and caring. She altered daily hikes to group strengths and tried to make it interesting for us. We had some challenging days but the views were totally worth it.

We went on the Colombia expedition to Ciudad Perdida. It was a tough trek… really looked forward to that beer and arepas at the end of the day. The trip was well executed by the OneSeed staff and was the experience of a lifetime. Thank you!

We have traveled to three countries with Oneseed Expeditions and had three amazing experiences. My boyfriend and I have traveled with Oneseed to Patagonia (Chile), Nepal, and Peru. Each time was truly incredible. The Oneseed team goes above and beyond to resolve any issues that came up and do anything and everything to make sure you are comfortable. They take care of all the logistics and planning for meals, overnight stays, etc. This is one of the main reasons we stick with Oneseed! We are actually able to enjoy and take in your surroundings WITHOUT having to worry if there will be room in the next hostel or where the next meal will be. And the team of guides, guides in training, in all three countries, and even the office back in Colorado are truly sensational. They make you feel like family on the trail and taken care of before and after your trip. We are looking forward to our fourth trip very soon! We love Oneseed!

We travelled to Torres Del Paine in Chilean Patagonia with OneSeed in Jan 2015. The trip is aptly named Epic Patagonia. The trekking was amazing. Difficult at times but the views are outstanding, our guides were local and knowledgeable and the experience far surpassed my expectations. We used OneSeed to book our flights from home to a pre-​trek visit to Argentina as well as for the necessary leg to Santiago. OneSeed partners with LanChile which is an excellent airline with good service. Next time we travel to South America we will try to add a OneSeed Expedition to our itinerary because we know it will be EPIC.

OneSeed Expeditions exceeded all my expectations. Our experience in Nepal couldn’t have been any better. They employ very friendly, knowledgeable and experienced locals who take care of everything. Our accommodations were great and our hiking experience was second to none. I highly recommend them for all your travel needs in Nepal.
