Mountain States Toyota

Upset and disappointed is the nicest thing I can say about this place. I bought a 2007 Audi and trusted the 160 point inspection plus a premium Toyota warranty for «peace of mind» that was curiously pushed on me.
What started out as a broken light bulb ended up being more than 1300 bucks out of my own pocket for wiring issues that had to be fixed at an Audi dealership. Audi told me they should have fixed these problems before selling me the car and the Toyota warranty didn’t cover half of what was wrong with it. Not to mention I put a huge cash down payment on this car — everything I had from the other car.
I had to go back to Toyota and was promised they would make it right. At that time I had a 900 tab waiting at Audi but again, Toyota told me they would make it all right, to pay out of pocket for this because they would reimburse me and to come in for a trade.
I am now out the 6k I originally put down, plus my out of pocket expenses on the Audi, and they did not even cover the cost of the original loan and now I have a much higher car payment on the cost of my newly purchased Toyota. The car was in the shop more than I had it on the road. The issues with the Audi put me in danger and in an unsafe vehicle not the mention the time, frustration and money out of my own pocket.
They sold me an unsafe car that should not have been on the lot in the first place and then I was stuck and had to buy an even more expensive car. Tell me Mountain States, where did you «make it right» for me?

Either the people don’t know what they are doing or they lied about what was the issue with my car. Will never be returning.

Premium washes only with service.
No premium washes even if you pay for it.
I bought a 2015 Prius in February from Groove. Because mountain service supposing only had 2014 in stock?
Trying to sell me old stock equals one star. No premium washes unless you buy tires, oil change, etc etc. can’t do less stars.
The service is great here though. Basic maintenance how can you ruin that?

Mountain States was by far one of the worst dealerships I have ever been too! Let’s start with the fact that I had been emailing someone whom was okay to work with, and she was helpful. She was not in when I wanted to go in, so she referred me to Drew. From the moment we walked up to this guy, he was a total jerk. He was not at all interested in the sale and proceeded to allow us to see the vehicle at which he barely cared to help us with a test drive. During the test drive he had a chip on his shoulder and zero personality. Upon return «Anything else»? You would think that they had interest to SELL the vehicle, but no, they did not. Being we liked it, let’s see what we can do, so we go inside, sit down, he hands me a pre written «Offer», the offer is X Y Z, I note, what payment and down I want, and hand it to him. «Oh no, we can’t move the price»… So I let him know, you can check with a manager, oh well let me look at
and show you what they are FOR SALE for? I don’t care about MSRP, it’s a car lets make or not make a deal… So I asked him again to check on the price. And he comes back no more than a minute later and says NOPE nothing we can do… Really? So I explained that I left another dealership because of the same issue, not helping on the price… So he proceeded to come up with the most awful reply «Well, no one is holding you here, hostage»… Are you kidding me right now? The WORST sales rep ever! Drew is hands down the cockiest, worst sales rep ever. So we left… I got a call from the «Director» who tells me that because I told Drew his Cocky a** attitude is what lost the sale that they would not be able to do business with us. Okay, that’s fine, are you trying to solve the issue by making me go away?
Bottom line, you want to be treated like you don’t matter, GO HERE. You want to be treated with RESPECT, go to Stevenson Toyota, where they CARE.

After visiting multiple dealerships, this was by far the cleanest, friendliest, and best deal around! Working with Patrick Giusti and Paula was a delight. Patrick was knowledgeable, fun, and truly cared about our needs. I can even say that we put him to the test with multiple requests and he was happy to do whatever he could to help us out. They work fast and provide plenty of amenities including bottled water and various good eats depending on the day. Saturday morning you can eat free pancakes, then if you stick around they have a bbq! As for the car they are top quality and the have the best prices around! I never thought I would have had this much fun buying a car, but they truly made it an enjoyable experience! I will definitely be back next time I need a new car. Hopefully another 10 years though ;)

Bought a 2004 car recently, they gave us a FALSE carfax, which is illegal! They have the law coming after them now for forging it. How do we know? The carfax said the car was bought in 2003? But the car is a 2004! Liars.
Also the car that was purchased had about $ 800 dollars worth of repairs to fix, the belt was completely broken along with other things, like why would they lie about that?
Also DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR SOCIAL! they lied and said they needed it for terriorism??? lol I sat there and said NO you will not have it, the guy went on saying that it was illegal for us to not give them it. mind you the car was under 5 k soon why would they need it.
When we were signing documents they kept trying to get papers in to run our credit lol and then we would point it out and they said «no the government needs that information» when it would clearly state «i give permission to run my credit»

I purchased a car from Mountain States Toyota less than a year ago; beginning of October. All good in terms of sale. They offered a warranty which was meant to cover parts and I went with it along with some other things. Now, August 10^th, I take the car for the second ever service appointment and I’ve driven less than 6000 miles on it and suddenly I am being told about all these issues the car has and being told that these are things that should have been taken care of every 30K miles. I’ve drive 6000 miles on it; at what point was I supposed to do all this work? And why wasn’t it handled before the car was sold to me? They had the service records for the car so they knew that eventually these are all things that would have to be taken care of but I wasn’t informed. I was basically trapped with the car that came with issues unknowingly. What kind of business are they running that their sales people are so desperate to sell that they don’t actually let someone know what it is they should look forward to?
They have officially lost my respect and my business. This kind of way of running a business is unacceptable.

They gave SUPER lowball offer on my trade in, I received a written quote from Carmax, that they not only wouldn’t match, but they were somewhat snotty and acted like I was lying to them about it. I’ve had friends who were happy with their experience here, but I was not. I’ll not be buying from mountain states.

One of the most croocked and dishonest dealerships I have ever stepped into! I would avoid.

Recently completed an out of state purchased of a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser from their online department. The staff was very professional, friendly, and communication with them was excellent.
Worked with Jerrod, David, Emily, Matt, and Steve, almost felt as if they had someone on-​call just for me! They went above and beyond by taking specific photos that I requested, they were very honest, and humble. They answered the 101 questions I had regarding the vehicle, they took care of the cost of the FedEx shipment of the paperwork, couldn’t ask for anymore. The FJ Cruiser came in excellent condition, came with extra goodies already installed on the truck!

If I could give them less stars I would. All I think I need to say is that I paid for 4 new tires because I had a couple flats. They charged me and sent me on my way, but about 30 miles on the new tires, I get another flat. I had to change it on the side of the road and limp it for repair to another tire shop. Only to find out they only put on two tires and re-​inflated my flat and sent me on my way. I spent hours calling them and leaving messages for all different managers.
I never heard back from them and it wasn’t until I sent an email to their upper management that I got a response. Their response was telling someone to handle my issue and nobody forced me out of my car to change my flat. I could tell how much they cared!(Sarcastic) It took me several days and I had to send them a copy of the new tire invoice to get a refund on the two tires they didn’t install.
If I were you, I wouldn’t trust them to work on your bike, let alone your car.

I am not surprised to read all of the bad reviews, as most car dealerships only get reviewed by those who had an awful experience there. In fact, if I was to write about O’Meara Ford and how things went when I bought my first car, I would probably be banned from Unilocal for abusive language…
That said… I had a WONDERFUL experience at Mountain States Toyota this past Saturday. I came in to take a look at a used Nissan Maxima. I had already looked at a few over the past couple of weeks, and I knew exactly what I wanted. After a different dealership earlier in the day told me on the phone they had one on the lot, only for it to be sold by the time I arrived an hour and change later, I was wary walking in to say the least.
My Girlfriend and I were met in the lot by Ray the salesperson as we parked. It was already raining, so he suggested we move inside to talk. I told him that I saw on Autotrader they had just reduced the price on a Nissan Maxima, and I wanted to take a look at it. He sat us at his desk, while he searched the database for the car. After finding that they actually had two on the lot, he double checked with the sales manager to make sure they were still there and had not been sold. Once he was absolutely sure that they were still available, he grabbed the keys for a Prius that was parked near the door and took us to each car and save us from the rain. He could have grabbed an umbrella, but I thought going the extra mile for the customer was great. After seeing both, I took the one I was interested in for a spin and fell in love. It was pretty funny to see Ray try to speak on the Nissan product, being a Toyota salesman, but he was very easy to work with in the buying process and I never felt any pressure at all.
I was already pre-​approved from my credit union, so the paperwork was a breeze. Curtis in Finance made sure that things went swimmingly and even tried to beat my bank’s rate just to see if I could save anymore money!
All in all, I was in and out with my sweet new ride in less than 2 hours. I would definitely recommend this dealership for anyone looking to buy a Toyota or anything they have on the lot from a different brand.

They really insist and harp on you to give excellent ratings on a survey. You really don’t have to remind me to rate you excellent, just do an excellent job to begin with, and you will get excellent reviews. Never have donuts always run out. Order more perhaps?

Review for the sales department: Went in twice looking for a certain model.
First visit: Salesperson knew next to nothing about the vehicle. When I thanked him for his time and told him I’d be in touch, he had me wait 10 minutes for a manager who asked me to tell him what I had already told the salesperson. This was after BEING LIED TO by the salesperson. He had asked me to wait a minute while he made a copy, but instead shows up with a manager.
Second visit: I had decided on the vehicle and wanted to buy. When I explained that I didn’t want the color they had on their lot I was told that there weren’t any available and they had no idea when one was coming in. Then, I waited there for almost 20 minutes for a manager to come by and tell me the same thing. I told them I didn’t want to wait for a factory build. I was told they would have to talk to another manager who had better access and I would get a call back in a couple days. They never called.
Long story short: Salesperson lacked knowledge and was less than straightforward. Two days later a salesperson at Stevenson Toyota told me he could get me the vehicle I wanted in 5 weeks. Found one even sooner through someone else.
If you value your time, I suggest requesting someone knowledgable in the specific vehicle you are looking for or try another dealership.
Update: I received and email and phone call apology from the manager. It would seems that they strive for higher standards and I may have been «unlucky».

Horrible experience. Sales person was not on my side. Gave me the wrong spare key and refused to replace it (even though it was a $ 10 key). Sold me the extended warranty that expired less than 2 years after i bought the vehicle ($ 1500 down the drain) when they told me it would go until 125,000 miles (didn’t tell me that it only had less than 2 years on the life of it).
Very rude Sale Manager. Horrible financial person.
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Go somewhere else.

I knew I had some recalls on my Toyota, so I took it in to see how long it would take to fix it. They advised the could take me as a walk in, and was it okay that, due to scheduled customers, it would be about three hours. I was fine with this since they let me know up front, and I had time to wait. The service guy walked through what they were going to do, what needed done (other than recalls) and what to watch for in the psudo-​near future. All things were explained thoroughly and I understood everything that was explained.
The work only took two and a half hours and the TV, clean restrooms and light snacks (popcorn, vending machine, coffee, water, etc.) helped the time pass. At the wrap up before payment (all recall work was free), he gave me a run sheet with things he would recommend I do, from most imperative, to «in the next year or so.»
I would get work done there, however the pricing schedule is twice what I pay at my local mechanic. This keeps me away (on a tight budget right now).

I purchased a 2007 used Lexus from Mountain States Toyota last February (2014). I was deciding between that one and a different Lexus of the same model from another used dealership. That one had been in an accident but was repaired at a Lexus dealership, and the seller was very open about that fact. I went with the Lexus from Mountain States Toyota because they showed me a clean carfax, and I thought that meant I would have an easier time selling it later on.
Fast forward to less than a year later, January 2014, selling this car because I’ve moved and don’t require a car for commuting anymore. The buyer company pulls up the carfax. It’s been in two accidents and serviced at non-​Lexus non-​Toyota places. Meaning Mountain States Toyota blatantly lied to my face, showed me an abridged or non-​carfax document.
Don’t trust these guys, no matter how shiny and suave the place looks. Maybe they can claim reasonable doubt if the seller who traded in the car lied to their face, but they’re definitely not being up-​front or doing their due-​diligence either way.
Edit: yes I do remember signing the carfax. No it did not have any mention of the two accidents on it. Yes carfax makes errors sometimes. But seems rather convenient that they corrected it within a year on a 7 – 8 year old car no? Bottom line: shady.

I had a decent experience in purchasing a used car at Mountain States. My salesperson was relatively knowledgeable and the process went fine.
However, since I bought the car less than 8 weeks ago, it’s been in to be repaired twice. The first time, it completely died. I towed it to Mountain States, where they said my car needed a new battery. The used car reconditioner told me «We should have put in a new battery since the old one was 7 years old, we just didn’t.» I told them about the funny noise my car had recently begun to make and they told me, «Old cars make noises.» (My car is relatively old — 2005, but that doesn’t seem like the best way to treat my reservations about my purchase.)
I went to a different dealership for service of my funny noises (for obvious reasons). After having the car in their possession for about 30 minutes, they said, «Oh, yes, you need a new alternator.» No question. That was the funny noise my car was making that Mountain States refused to even look into.
COME. ON.
Sorry, Mountain States, you aren’t getting another dime from me.

I have noticed that on Unilocal almost all of the dealerships have low ratings, like 2 stars or below. That’s pretty bad considering the experience we had at this dealership but on the other hand we had a pretty bad experience at Groove Toyota. I will get to that in a second. I have no point but I’m just saying, it’s crazy that there aren’t more good reviews.
We had a pretty decent experience last night at this location. Our salesman, Kelly, helped appraise our trade-​in and helped us agree on a final price for our 2015 Tacoma TRD Sport. Yes, the trade-​in value was a damn joke and $ 3,500 less than what Groove valued it at and YES our final price was $ 200 more than Groove. What saved the dealership though was when we told them the price was NOT doable for us and they came back with a price $ 1,000 lower than Groove. It then made up for the shitty appraisal on our truck because really what it comes down to is, final price.
NO other dealership we spoke with could find us a Magnetic Gray truck and when we asked about doing a dealer trade they said «No one else has a magnetic gray truck. You either have to wait 6 weeks OR buy this silver/​other model/​green one on our lot.» Well we hate silver vehicles and told them a million times that the colors and model were non-​negotiable. It seemed like they were just trying to get those trucks (that aren’t selling) off the lot at whatever cost even if it means losing an entire sale. I thought we made the right choice going into Groove but it ended up being a waste of 2 hours. Arapahoe Toyota was also charging way too much for their Tacoma’s and didn’t have the magnetic gray in stock either. They said «No one else in the region has a magnetic gray TRD sport in stock. They just don’t.» That’s funny because it tuned out, another dealership did.
The girl who rang us up for our deposit to hold the truck was nice and helpful too. We didn’t feel pressured at all but then again we spoke with them on the phone about exactly what we wanted to buy so it wasn’t like they had to really sell anything to us. Kelly didn’t make us «feel bad» for negotiating the price either.
We’re glad we went with Mountain States Toyota and we’re happy with what we paid for the truck. Yay! I love new car smell haha

At this point, I would not be recommend MST to anyone.
I was only given one key to my FJ upon purchase. I contacted Mountain States and asked that they double check for and a 2^nd key and was never contacted back. I contacted another dealership to have one made and am looking at over $ 200 to have it done (key, programming and cut). I shouldn’t have to deal with this after spending a good deal of money on a «Certified Pre-​Owned» vehicle. Spare keys cost them next to nothing to make.
After that it was discovered that my Toyota financial paperwork was not completed properly and to be overnighted to me and returned at the last minute to avoid being late on my first payment.
Lastly, after going to the DMV today to register the FJ it was discovered that the title was not completed properly because the Odometer was not recorded on the title. I had to purchase an temporary registration extension at the DMV. Now I have to wait approx 2 weeks for the paperwork to completed correctly and return to the DMV again… yeah.
Avoid the headache and go to one of the many other Toyota dealerships in the area.
