I bought my first DSLR from Mike’s in 2007 at their location on Colorado Blvd. The staff down there were very friendly, knew the answers to all of the technical questions that I had and took the time to show me all of the options that would work for my requirements. I went back in 2011 to buy another DSLR and service was just as good! Fast forward to last night, I was near the Mike’s in Thornton and figured I’d stop in to check out some of their point and shoots. My current Canon S95 is four years old and very outdated to the option currently available. Walking into the store, it was shortly before closing, though I only waited a minute or two before Jasmine came over to assist me. She was knowledgeable and pulled out several models that would be a good replacement for my S95. Though I wasn’t planning to buy during this visit, I left with plenty of information and a nice overview of the features available on the Canon G5X. Mike’s is the best camera store I’ve ever been to in Colorado, and though I no longer live in the state, I do plan to purchase my next camera from Mike’s when I return to Colorado.

After reading reviews about this store on Google and one here my wife and I were nervous about going to this store. The fact is though that this was one of the best experiences in a camera store that I’ve had. When we walked in the store we were immediately greeted by Leon and Jeff. Jeff was busy with other customers so Leon assisted us, for over an hour and beyond their closing time. They neither one pushed products on us and simply assisted us with what we wanted to see. Once we asked their opinion they were more than helpful and passionate about cameras. I would recommend this store to everyone and if it is busy and you feel your not getting the assistance you deserve or need, try going back at a less busy time.

Rude, incompetent, infuriating! Every price the woman at the counter told me was different than what the assistant manager told me. Every time I ask how much it would cost to copy pictures I had brought in, the woman kept telling me it would be easier if I scanned them myself. I told her that I did not want to take the time to do it. I wanted to pay them to do it. She kept saying really it would be better if I did it. They just didn’t want to go through the work. She said that because I had three different sizes of pictures it would be very difficult for them to tell what size prints I wanted. It’s hard for them to match there Skandia made with the original size. She acted annoyed with me that I wanted to pay them to scan it. This is supposed to be one of the basic services they offer. Service so horrendous that I will never go back to a Mike’s camera. I will be sure to tell everyone of this experience when it comes up in conversation. Just don’t go here.

I splurged recently and got an old oil painting custom framed and a picture of Bryce Canyon blown up 24×36 on a metallic frame. It was costly(even after the nice employee knocked off $ 50), but wholly crap was it worth it! I usually get pics blown large up at kinkos or something for 35 – 40. From now on, I will do it right and spend the 250(ouch!) to blow up my favorite landscape shots. Great job Mike’s. I’ll be back!

This location never has anything I need in stock especially if it has anything to do with Sony products! Ugh

We saw a camera at Costco, and knew we wanted more information, so we stopped by Mike’s Camera and were literally blown away by the awesome customer service we received by Joe. Joe is incredibly knowledgeable about photography, cameras and all the accessories that go along with it. He spent a ton of time with us, showed us some other cameras that had freakin awesome features, some that were less expensive and some that were off the hook! We bought a fantastic camera package, and we can take some classes, get a bunch of free photos and we always have a great resource in Joe and at Mike’s Camera. Oh, and we spent less than we would have at Costco.
