It’s probably one of the most authentic mexican food I ever eat in USA, the corn tortillas are home made and the tacos are soo good!

These tacos are legit! I loved the chicken & crispy potato one(I forget the name). The lobster one was pretty good and the lamb was a big hit. Definitely will be back for happy hour. Well drink prices at the bar were really reasonable. I’m not much of a tequila person, but if you are there are plenty of options here.

Warm and inviting. Exposed brick, dimly lit, hip without the douche hipsters. Classic downtown Denver bar. A good place to have drinks and tacos with friends.

The tacos here are okay, but not amazing . The fish tacos were not that great. They tasted like frozen grocery store fish. For the price, this place isn’t worth it . But I’m glad I ate here for the experience . Cool atmosphere and the food is okay . The service was also good . I expected a lot more for the price . However, I am happy with hole in the wall taco joints . Will I come back? Ummm… Probably not unless someone else is paying the bill.

Denver, Colorado– If you like demons, skeletons, and death, you’ll like it… The décor features them and I’m I’m feelin’ it– 1 star for that. I am a big fan of Dia de los Muertos and seeing shimmery glittering skeletons hanging above gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Don’t judge. Machete is dimly lit; the music is trendy and spreads a mellow vibe– 2nd star for that. I was diggin the spot until we got to our table. There is no place for a jacket or a purse on the backless bar stools. Major fail in a spot that has 6 months of winter weather. We sat down as I made every maneuver possible to stay atop the backless barstool seat that I shared with my purse. I was bummed that I found myself caking the edges of my bright white coat with God-only-knows-what-blackness came from the dirty ground where it hung. Diverting our attention to the menu, we ordered chips, guac, and salsa while we waited for my frequently tardy sis. Amazing. The salsas, not my sis although she is amazing too. The salsas are a bit spicy but I love the variety. Eager for more we ordered drinks. This place mixes a margarita and a mojito and the result is perfection. The third star is for the apps and drinks. The stars stop there because my veggie tacos were bland and even with a mountain of the amazing guac on them, they were just okay. I’ll come back for drinks.

Some of the best Tacos around Denver. I love their selections. Unfortunately, they no longer carry the shark tacos which were absolutely delicious. I recommend the campechano, and the longosta. Fish tacos are also excellent. Tacos pretty much range from $ 3-$ 5 each depending on which one you choose. The fresh guac is always good, although I would prefer a more traditional tortilla chip as opposed to the thick fried tortilla strips they provide. They charge for chips and salsa, but I guess at least they bring an assortment of 4 salsa varieties. they range from very mild to decently spicy. Speaking of spicy, I love spicy margaritas, and Machete has some of my favorites. If you’re looking for something more traditional or fruity they have those options available too, however drinks can get pricy as most are around $ 10. Overall I highly recommend Machete for their awesome tacos. Prices are decent, food tastes great, bar tenders are friendly and the atmosphere is cool.

Stopped by this spot, on the way to a Nuggets game. I’m a new guy in town, even though I was born in Colorado(Moved when I was 2). This place was pretty darn good, and the backdrop/decoration was really cool. The drinks were strong, the foods was good, and the people super friendly. The tacos reminded me of a place back where I used to live in the DC area called«Taco Bamba». I’ve been on a hunt to find a place like that in this area. Machete is as close as I have found so far. All around great place. The only«negative», and it’s not really even a negative if you’re an average sized person… is I wish the tacos had more meat lol. I won’t take any stars away for that, since it’s personal preference. I’m 6’2″ around 235 – 245. I have a huge appetite, next I’ll just get extra tacos. Two thumbs up.

Unbelievably good! Perfect blend of spices in EVERYTHING! Salsas are off the charts delicious my favs were the the yellow and the orange-ish ones. Spicy and perfect almost like a queso texture. All the tacos are ala carte and you can get a deal where you get all 12 varieties for $ 42! They are small but bigger then street tacos… I had lobster, swordfish and rotisserie chix and they were all spectacular! Even boring chicken had an unusual blend of spices and flavors. I will be making this a regular stop when Im in Denver and right across from Union Station. Very cool spit with excellente menu!

We came in on a Saturday night with a group of 8 ppl. My first impression on walking in was — wow, there’s a lot going on here; it was very loud and dark. The décor was quirky and eclectic. We ordered chips, salsa, and guacamole to start with. Although the salsas were very tasty– nothing annoys me more than a Mexican restaurant that charges for chips and salsa. The guacamole was pretty good– if you like mashed up avocados with no flare(which I do not). We ordered the platter of 12 tacos— trying everything from the lobster to the beef tongue. Nothing I’d write home about or go back for. The chiccaron de queso was the biggest disappointment of all. I received this giant taco that was a very thin roll of grilled cheese. It was so crispy and flavorless I couldn’t even figure out how to eat it. My friends did rave about the chicken quesadilla– so if you go, try that.

Walking around downtown with a taste for Mexican food, I’m glad we found this gem! Great music, awesome décor, and super nice servers! Now let’s talk food. Why wait for Taco Tuesday with a menu like this! We started with chips & salsa. All 4 of them were so different and really good! I tried 3 different tacos(arrachera, Campechano & al pastor) and they were all SO flavorful and with a generous serving of meat on top of tasty tortillas. I had 2 others with me for lunch and when they heard about the $ 5 margaritas, they were all in! They raved about their choices and one of the guys said about the Spicy Rico Rita.“I’d come back just for this!“ Really enjoyed this spot, highly recommend it!

LOVE the tacos. Can’t speak to much of anything else on the menu, i go and always get 3 – 4 tacos. The price is a bit steep per taco, but they are quite delicious. The chips and salsa are also good, the variety of salsa is nice, and one is quite hot, which is great. It’s pretty loud during lunch, quite busy but not so busy you wait to get in, which is perfect.

Their tacos are the bomb!!! You must try if you like gourmet tacos. I have been going there for some time. The only bad thing is they advertise«esquites» and they serve you canned sweet corn which is not even close. I didn’t like the fact that they advertise something they don’t sell so. But overall great food!

Love the look, love the location, the food and drinks were seriously underwhelming for me. The tacos were pretty good, however, $ 11 for a margarita seems just ok. They have some very good salsas and very nice staff!

It’s taco time! And they can do tacos. The tacos even have different kinds of tortillas based on the fillings. For example, the shrimp taco was on a squid-ink tortilla; it had a complex flavor combination that was oh-so delicious but could’ve been made better by not over cooking the shrimp. The flank steak and chorizo taco had a lot going on but it didn’t come together as well. The table favorite was the pork rib meat with Apple slaw. It tasted like thanksgiving in taco form — and that’s a good thing! The margaritas were strong(skinny was a bit tart though), and the servers attentive.

Headed in for happy hour and had a delicious meal! Tacos are $ 3& margaritas are $ 7. They’re a few selections that do not fall under this pricing but there’s plenty to choose from. Sat at the bar and started off with some house made chips and salsa! Love that they give 4 different salsas — all ranging in spiciness. Ordered a couple of margaritas and 7 tacos — Arrachera, Tripa, Campechana, Cordero, Pescado, Al Pastor Pork, Chicken Tinga(check menu for ingredients). All on freshly made tortillas! The one that stood out to me was the Pescado Taco, squidink tortilla, Tilapia, and crema de rancho sauc. Margaritas: Oaxacan & Spicy Rico Rita! Service was great! Our bartender explained the menu and was very attentive. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Denver.

It’s pretty dang dark in here. I have to say, I wasn’t impressed with two important things that are very important at any Mexican spot(in my eyes): The Guac and Margaritas. The guac was very creamy but no flavor. I went for the Strawberry Margarita and it was just overwhelming with alcohol and just not enjoyable to sip on. I didn’t even finish it. For the tacos I chose: — Al Pastor | Duroc roasted pig, guajillo chile marinated pork, pineapple, onions and cilantro — Arrachera | Hanger steak, avocado salsa, onions and cilantro — Chicharron de queso | Crispy panela cheese, salsa chile cascabel, grilled onions Skip the chicharron de queso — zero taste. Def go with the Al Pastor — delicious! My highlight of the entire experience here. Another random note, the menu is overwhelming with the way it is designed.

We love Machete! They’ve recently changed up their happy hour(M-F 2 – 7) and now all margs(excluding the upgrades on tequilas, of course) are $ 7. I’m a big fan of the mojorita and the spicy margarita. The tacos on HH are now $ 3 but I love all the different options. Hubs fave is the Campechano with steak and chorizo and a delicious green salsa on top. I also love it and I really enjoy their veggie tacos too. It comes on the hibiscus tortilla which I like for its different flavor profile– adding something unique to the taco. We will keep returning!

Opening day for the Rockies — which means that every amateur is out and about, taking up my seat in my favorite places! We happened upon this place because we needed to eat and wanted to watch the Rockies game. The service started strong, but as it got busier was a little slower. But the food — OH the food! I had a cucumber margarita with chili-lime salt. It was refreshing and unique. My husband and I sampled several tacos — my favorites were the conchita pibil and al pastor. My husband had the shark, and it was actually quite tasty. The music in here was loud, and while the Rockies game was on TV, both the bartenders we asked said they couldn’t turn down the music and turn up the Rockies game. This was off-putting for us, so we left to find a place that would. A small blemish that I can overlook, given the high quality and taste of the food here.

Machete’s is that go to place when you are craving some street tacos and want a little tequila to wash it down with. I’ve been several times(girls night, bachelorette party, date night) and each time I have: 1) Wanted to try everything on the menu 2) Ordered two tacos and wished I had ordered three 3) Envied someone else’s drink or taco 4) Wished I could read Spanish so I could understand the comics in the bathroom I will say that, while I wouldn’t have necessarily picked the Mako Shark taco ever, I’m glad I heeded the advice of that hipster bartender at Mercantile and made my husband get it. Wow, talk about ample goodness! It’s a larger portion than most of the other selections and it really is scrumptious. I’m not a shark meat fan, but have now opened that door so watch out sharks! The Al Pastor is my now second favorite(Mako now taking #1 spot), Tinga is good and the Acapulco is yummy yet a bit on the smaller serving side, I’d like it to be a little fatter if you know what I mean. Love the Skinny Marg and Mojito Rita. I have also tried the Kona but wasn’t crazy about it. Ambiance is definitely party, fun, group favorable. There is a room off of the main dining section that you can ask for as well. It has a large screen TV and is great if you have a group(I think it’s for 8 – 10) and want a little more privacy. Of course the location is great and while I haven’t been to their Cherry Creek spot, I’d like to check it out as that one is closer to me.
