I never go to this side of downtown because it’s far from my office but we were in the area after the Bronco pep rally last week, and decided to grab lunch from here. I love sushi and I love burritos so a sushi burrito? Oh hell yeah take my money!!! I got the chubby sumo(see my pic) and it was really good! It had a lot of salmon which I love. I do have to agree with other reviews on here, though. The execution needs a little work. The seaweed is hard to bite through and it was so messy to eat, and it just fell apart. Also, I do think the price is a little high for what you get. I was hungry again after like two hours so it’s not extremely filling. This is definitely not a place to go frequently because of the price, but I would return if I was really craving sushi. Check in on Unilocal for 10% off!

Placed an order for a work lunch day. Had the sunrise and I liked how fresh and light it was really liked it! Love the concept of the nori! They missed a few orders but they were really nice about it and delivered it to us and included 3 boxes of dessert and a gift card! Definitely there again!

Yikes! I wanted to love this place but the price /quality /portions are WAY out of whack. I ordered here on a whim via Grub Hub. $ 13.00 for a ‘Sushi Burrito’ and $ 8.00 for a Mango Salad. Tax and tip, upwards of $ 30,00. The salad was tiny — what you’d expect for ‘side salad’ rather than an entrée and the ‘burrito’ was just a bit larger than a hand roll. While that’s bad enough — size isn’t everything so what’s the quality like? Well, there was almost NO fish in the burrito and three lousy chunks of mango in the salad! Lame! The taste? SUPERBLAND. Wow, it was like eating a rolled up, moist paper towel that had been in the same room as a piece of fish once. I felt like such a sucker. Never again.

Came to their opening day a few months ago and was selected to receive free sushi burritos for a year! This place is pretty phenomenal if you’re looking for something quick, healthy, easy, and delicious! They use fresh ingredients and are located 5 minutes away from campus! Must try this trendy food invention! Top 3 Sushi Burritos 1. El Frito Suave(Fried, if you aren’t counting the calories!) 2. Dancing Jack 3. Sunrise Sumo

This is one of the place that i want to try when I got to Denver. I ordered the Salmon Samba Burrito: Farm raised salmon, tempura asparagus, philadelphia crème cheese, English cucumber, romaine lettuce, sweet corn, avocado, wasabi dust. Teri-mayones. The menu is japanese and latin inspired. The sushi burrito I got tasted good. However, I wasnt happy with wonton chips with wasabi n guacamole, the chips taste burned.

i wasn’t sure about the concept at first but wanted to try it. I’m so glad I did — I thought the burritos were delicious! I ordered the reef and beef and the flavors were perfect. My boyfriend had the Texas one and he loved it. I liked that they weren’t too big and they are somewhat healthy. I will definitely go back. The only suggestion is that I wish they had brown rice as an option. I also wish there was a build-your-own option(maybe there is but it would be convenient if you could pick out ingredients from a list).

I know there are a ton of great reviews for this place, sadly the food didn’t work for me. I thought the concept was cool and was really excited to try one of the sushi burritos, but after tasting two different burritos all I could think was bleh, blah, yeck. The place is clean. Service is average. The drinks taste like syrup(plus or minus if that’s your thing). The bathroom… Out of order. Regarding the hefty prices, I’d rather pay more for great sushi and pay less for a chipotle burrito. The only reason I didn’t give 1 star is because the overpriced avocado fries truly are delicious.

I can’t quite wrap my brain around this and had a bite of a dish I burrito and an avocado fry that co-workers brought back. The sushi was fresh, the avocado fries are fascinating and I would order to share with someone again. The dipping sauce(don’t know what it was) was so delicious. I might order a bowl next time as the seaweed wrap is a bit overpowering for my tastes. BUT, if you were on the go … The wrapped version would be great!

Sooooo I’ve been here three times now, each experience different and kind of confusing. I came opening day(just hours after they gave away free sushi-ritos for a year, bummer) and they were fantastic! The Salmon Samba = Favourite, the corn and avocado were so flavorful and the ratio of rice to filling was just perfect. The Chunky Sumo came in a close second, being the fattest and fullest sushirito, so good I about Truffle Shuffled. Bonus points for being walking distance from my house! I planned on coming back over and over again. However, the last two times I went it’s like everyone just threw random ingredients into a rice ball and called it a day. Someone even mistook the Chunky Sumo for a salad roll, there was so much romaine and cabbage with barely any fish. What happened? Another thing I don’t understand is that some of the workers there are so mean to each other, is it on purpose? Is it an inside joke I don’t get? That alone makes me never want to come back ever. I love the concept and loved everything about this place it’s opening day but maybe they’re still working some things out so I’m taking a long break from here for a very long while.

These«sushi burritos» are like giant sushi rolls with great ingredient combinations. Everything tastes amazing and fresh, even my 6 year old daughter ate her entire sushi burrito… The two gentlemen who run the place are extremely friendly and very personable. Next time we come to Denver, this place is a MUST!

I really like the concept of this place. I don’t really know of many places around Denver that has sushi burritos. I got the #9 white bonzai chicken burrito because I’m allergic to fish(I could’ve gotten the shellfish, steak, or vegetarian rolls though). I really enjoyed my meal though, I wasn’t sure if chicken was going to be good but chicken is good for anything in my opinion. The burrito got a little messy and I ended up eating it with a fork but that’s okay. Not sure how it would be if I was on the go though. The employees here were very friendly and had great suggestions. Next time I want to try the wonton chips with wasamole(pretty creative on that!) and maybe the other burritos. I would definitely recommend Komotodo to anyone who likes sushi. But they also have salads which I want to try as well. The only downside to this place is parking but that’s downtown for ya. It probably doesn’t bother people who walk everywhere but tonight was a cold night.

I have been walking by this place for a while impatiently waiting for it to open. finally I got to try it! I was really impressed. basically you are getting a giant sushi roll. I had the tuna and my friend got the salmon. Both were really good and packed full of all kinds of tasty stuff. I will say they are more of the saucy/interesting ingredient rolls than your basic/simple rolls. But I enjoy those and I think that makes for a better sushi burrito. We also got the deep fried avocado slices. I really didn’t know what to expect with that but damn it was good. Slightly salty breading went great with the avocado and the dipping sauce was yummy as well. It was a late lunch a little after 1pm so there was no line and the burritos were ready pretty quickly. The guys working were pretty nice and helpful with choosing a burrito. I will definitely be coming back!

Great flavors. Really cool concept. So many different flavors and sushi burrito options with different fish, meat and veggies. I prefer the Chunky Sumo as it has the best balance of salmon, yellow fin tuna sushi and everything else. I also really like the Larimer Green chili when not in the mood for fish/sushi. Alonzo, the owner, is awesome and we started going because of the grand opening«Golden ticket» deal to the fist lucky people who came — genius marketing. Go try it. All the burritos are great and reasonably priced.

Interesting concept but paying $ 10 for a hand roll is definitely not ideal. They have a machine that puts rice on the seaweed. Really? You need a machine to do that? Many of the rolls could be pre-made but instead they make it fresh so that’s pretty cool. Their sauces and fish are fresh. I have a feeling they will serve rolls next year. We came here on opening day and waited many hours to get in. After we received our food we walked maybe 5 minutes back to my office to eat since it was so crowded. By then, my seaweed turned soggy and chewy. My mom has made better hand rolls than this. Probably not a fair assessment but hey, this is a business right?

Whoa! Get ready for something new, Denver! The sushi burritos here are incredible– I was pleasantly surprised by the ratio of rice-to-filling; when I first thought burrito, I was a bit skeptical, but I was wrong. The fish is fresh and generously portioned. I got the #12 Chunky Sumo, with tuna, salmon, and crab. Definitely planning oncoming back!

I think this is the fastest I’ve ever been to try a new place out. Record! Well, a friend told me about this place because she knows I love burritos. I also really love sushi. Two loves(literally) rolled into one? It intrigued me alright. I’ve seen the sushi-rito concept in other cities, and glad to see it finally came to Denver. So the taste verdict? It was a winner. It’s definitely more sushi than it is a burrito, so if you’re craving sushi this is a great place to kill the craving. You can get raw sashimi wrapped in your ‘rito or cooked protein options too. I would totally have eaten 2 because it was pretty tasty and I think I was pretty hungry. There was a zesty slaw inside that was accompanied by an awesome tangy peanut sauce. What holds me back from giving more stars? To be quite honest, the location. I don’t know that I would go downtown to get this because of the«hassle» of going downtown and finding parking, etc. Plop this joint in a neighborhood or someplace smaller-scale, and I might have to up it a star.

Definitely a new lunch and late night munchies spot for me. I had the Reef and Beef burrito and it was amazing. The sirloin was tender, the tempura shrimp was super crispy and the nori paper added the perfect amount of saltiness to each bite. I have never had the Stubborn brand soda but it’s delicious — not too sugary. And the cream filled churros were a perfect end to the meal. Loved it all!

I’m so excited for Sushi Burritos to finally be available in Denver. Komotodo offers the best cut-in-house sushi grade fish. They strive to have you in and out the door faster than an order at a drive thru but you will leave with a healthier option. The staff was so friendly from the moment I walked in and they chatted about the options and the amazing rice rolling machine. I had the mushroom fries and chunky sumo burrito. My burrito was filled with flavor from the first to the last bite and if I had a bigger stomach I would have ate more. Bottom line the food is delicious, fresh and I am a fan! I can’t wait to come back as often as possible!

My inner fat kid got REALLY excited when I heard Komotodo was opening, so imagine my delight when I poked my nosy head in this afternoon to see if they were open yet… and they said yes. In fact, it was a soft opening, and I had the honor of being their first customer. Ever. Cue the balloons. The chef, Dustin, was really cool, and his team was too. We took pictures for Facebook. I signed a dollar bill. We laughed. Good times, good memories. But if you’re reading this you want to know about the sushi burrito, right? I got the #12, something«Sumo» with salmon, tuna, and crab, corn, pickled veggies and rice. Picture a really great, fresh sushi roll, but bigger. It was everything I dreamed of and more. The avocado fries looked amazing, like the rest of the menu, but I didn’t have room for them this time. Short story shorter, I plan to become regular.
