I really wanted to like this place — especially with the 4 star average rating. The location is fine and close to other activities on S. Broadway. The décor was ok too, though they could easily make the design pop by adding small spotlights in the alcoves on the tops of the walls where they keep their themed decorations. Service was OK too, generally they seemed to know when we needed something. However, the food disappointed. My partner ordered the Mussaman Chicken Curry and I ordered the General Tao’s Chicken after seeing its delightful colors and fresh veggies on the next table. Both of us could barely eat our food it was so sweet. The curry was only faintly flavored with the Mussaman flavor, the color of oatmeal, runny, and very sweet, about as sweet as vanilla tapioca. My chicken was also tasteless, showing none of the sweet/spicy/tanginess that it does at a good Chinese restaurant, but rather a syrupy sweetness. The veggies were fresh and the fried chicken somewhat crunchy, but the liberally applied dried red peppers were not hot at all. I ate one by accident and expected to have to call an ambulance and instead I spit it out wondering what the dry crunch seedy thing was in my mouth. When the server(owner?) came by and asked how we liked it, I said that both dishes were inedibly sweet. He apologized saying he was sorry we didn’t like it, but gave no indication that he understood how bad his food was. Perhaps that was the biggest let-down of the evening, because you can’t fix something if you don’t think it’s broke! I’m from the Bay Area so I have lots of experience with how good Chinese food can be. Here in Denver, it’s almost uniformly awful, but this hit a new low. Yet the restaurant was full and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. So take my review with a grain of salt… or in this case, a tablespoon of sugar: you might like it — as many seem to — if you haven’t tasted what really good Chinese food tastes like. And if you would like to taste it, a much better experience can be had a few miles away at the top-rated Hong Kong BBQ, which is where I went first on this fateful night, but sadly, it was closed on a Wednesday.

Great food at a very reasonable price. I took my college-age son to lunch here after reading the good reviews. To tell the truth, we almost turned around after seeing the faded sign and the messy front windows, as well as the dining room which is in desperate need of updating. But we persevered and were very glad we did. The food was hot and fresh — the service was fine. We split the fried tofu appetizer and it arrived right out of the fryer — tongue-burning hot and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a side of yummy dipping sauce. We both ordered the wok stir fry lunch specials, and were surprised at the enormous amount of food we received in a bento box. The green salad was lightly dressed with a sweet mint sauce — refreshing! There was a good miso soup, a hot and fresh veggie eggroll with dipping sauce, steamed rice, a mildly spicy chicken stir fry, and 2 juicy orange wedges. One minor negative: the glass my iced tea came in was pretty dingy, but the big lime wedge made up for it. I would tell the owners to invest in a décor overhaul and a new dishwasher for glassware, but please keep the food as good as it is now!

This used to be our go to place for Thai takeout but my husband and I got food poisoning from here last week. It was the only food that we had both had in common that day and our daughter who didn’t eat it didn’t get sick. I called the restaurant to let them know and they didn’t seem too concerned. We will not be ordering from here again.

This is one of my favorite restaurants of any style hands down! Everything I’ve tried has been delicious and the service is always good! This may seem cliché but the one thing I like to eat to guage an Asian restaurant is the sesame chicken(if it’s on the menu). Their’s is some of the tastiest I’ve had anywhere! I would also recommend, if you haven’t tried it already, the blooming tea. It has a wonderful flavor and is a true tea drinking experience! 5 stars for sure!

I order from here maybe once a month. They remember my address, tell me the REAL time they will arrive for delivery and their food is superb. Order: Pineapple wontons– served with this mild mint sauce Pad Thai– cannot go wrong. Even when it’s not perfect, it’s still better than any other delivery place. Curry! I just ordered Panang tonight, because I asked Karma what their favorite is. I’ve also dinned in and love the atmosphere and their HH deals are spot on. My favorite Asian place hands down.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I go in about once a week, usually for take out, but sometimes I stay. They always remember me. They go above and beyond. Their added touches(plus their delicious food) is what keeps me coming back!!! Tonight it was a bit chilly and they made me a hot tea to go with my take out order just because! Love this place.

I ordered some curry to-go from here for the first and last time. The reviews and photos looked amazing so I thought I would give the green curry a shot. I did not get what I thought was curry. Instead when I got home, I opened up a container of… glue? There was no color to the curry, hardly any meat or vegetables, no spice, no flavor, and the texture/consistency seemed like someone poured a jug of Elmer’s glue into it. If I ate in the restaurant I would have sent it back and ordered something else– I rarely do that. I’m sure other items and eating there is fine, but this was my curry experience and I’ll never be going back for it.

I’ve come here for a few times with my friend for happy hour. Their happy hour specials for food and drinks are amazing! BOGO beer, $ 1 small sake carafes, and an assortment of appetizers and entrees ranging from $ 3-$ 6. I’ve had both the sesame tofu and the pad thai in the past. The sesame tofu was well-cooked but a bit sweet for my tastes. The pad thai was just right and super peanutty. I definitely recommend the place for happy hour if you’re in the area.

Don’t know about dinner … But DEFIANTLY A 5 star HAPPYHOUR ! $ 1 for a sweet little carafe of sake ! What a steal ! For $ 2 each we got a good«buzz», wow ! We thought the sake was pretty smooth too, with a hint of pineapple. Also 2fer 1 beers at HH. We tried all of the $ 3 appetizers. The spicy edamame was amazing !! I would come back just for this dish ! Wok seared in the hull with sesame oil & dried chilies— way better than steamed ! The chicken skewers were amazingly big and juicy. The chicken is marinated for flavor and also topped with a good peanut sauce, on a bed of baby greens, that we didn’t waste, as the p-nut sauce made a nice dressing ! The lettuce wraps were also distinctive, with an unexpected flavor from apples & dried cranberries. And the cheese& pineapple wonton were pretty good too, we liked the cilantro dip .6 wontons for $ 3 at HH ! We also tried a Pink plum sake for desert, it was delicious ! We shall return …

Went to visit a friend in the hospital, but he was sleeping and we were hungry so we decided to go get some great food at Karma Asian during their Happy Hour(which is every day from 3−6pm). :-) Place had a great casual atmosphere and our server was very friendly and efficient. Started off ordering three hot Sake carafes and if you also order a beer, you get the second one free! Got the pineapple wontons, pad thai, spicy edamame and the chicken lettuce wraps. Everything was delicious and a great deal for around $ 26 for three people – that is definitely a very Happy Hour! Plenty of off street parking available. We did go back to the hospital afterwards, but our friend was still sleeping! :-)

Well, I run hot and cold on all of the Asian delivery joints in my ‘hood(central Denver — Speer and West Wash Park specifically) — they all let me down more often than they delight me but I have to say Karma has stepped up to the plate lately. Bored or disappointed with pretty much all the usual suspects I’ve had delivery from Karma a couple of times in the last month and they’ve pretty much blown my socks off. Friendly person who speaks actual English on the other end of the phone. He made some recommendations and I’ve been pretty well pleased. What I really like, maybe am slightly addicted to, are their Ahi Tuna rolls. Big raw Spring rolls stuffed with barely seared sushi grade Ahi and avocado — served with soy, wasabi and pickled ginger. Oh baby! I also like their noodle dishes — the Dan Dan is good but last night the guy on the phone recommended the curry noodles which I liked much better because they’re a lot spicier — big shrimp, BBQ pork, chicken — a lot of food and too much after the Ahi rolls but I’ve got dinner tonight covered. A warning that this is not the cheapest Asian delivery you can get but I think the quality is worth a couple of extra bucks. So, they’re back in my regular rotation. Try the Jam Bong — spicy noodle, seafood soup — yummy, too.

I had the orange chicken lunch special. It was really good! The portion for the chicken could be larger as my dish did not have a lot. It appeared that everyone orders the curry here, so next time it a must try.

One of the best places in the neighborhood. Great service, great atmosphere, and excellent food. Prices are incredible as well. I’ve been here 3 times now and everything on the menu has been excellent. Highly recommend and will go again and again.

I love Karma. My boyfriend took me there on our first date, and we go back every now and again partially because of the good memories, but mostly because of the good food. Rarely have to wait for a table at this place. I hesitated to review it on Unilocal, just because I don’t want too many more people to go there! It doesn’t hurt that Sweet Action icecream is extremely close. Makes for a great date night! The Happy Hour is awesome. The two of us normally split the 3 small plates, and then if we’re still hungry, go for one of the larger ones. All delicious!

Great happy hour and lunch bento box. Our servers have always been super nice(albeit others have complained about it being a little slow). The dinner servings are huge and make two or three meals for me. Highly recommend the curries.

I came in this evening for an early dinner with some friends, and I have to say, I really dig this place. It’s close to home, it has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty food. They have happy hour from 3 – 6, so my two friends and I decided on one order of each of the appetizers and a bowl of soup each. My soup was the coconut chicken soup, and it was very tasty(too many mushrooms, though, in my opinion). The appetizers were the lettuce chicken wraps(tasty), the chicken satay(also tasty, but nothing special), the pineapple cheese wontons(yum!), and the spicy edamame(delicious! Worth a visit just for this). The best part is, the servings are enough to fill three adults, and the total came to just over $ 10 each! Karma would be a great spot for a date. The lighting is a bit dimmed, and the music manages to be loud enough that you don’t overhear your neighbors while not being too loud to hear your own table. Also, the servers manage to walk that fine line of being attentive but not hovering near your table and coming by every three minutes. One thing to be aware of, though: I came in a few months ago, and sat at one of the tables by the door. Service in that section is quite a bit slower, because they don’t make their way to you as often. Aside from that, I would definitely recommend Karma if you haven’t been.
